  1. I tried the chicken tika masala with freshly cooked nan today

the serving size wasn't bad for 50 baht and it tasted good, in fact I got another serving and shared it with my GF

    she liked it too.

  2. Simon -- Are you willing to reveal the name and location of the 84 Baht apartment with satellite TV and seaview ( on Jomtien Beach? ), or is that a closely guarded secret?

He's still trying to figure out how to get the pictures of the place off his Iphone ( couple of weeks now )

after that a few more weeks to figure out the GPS to reveal the mystery location. :):D:D

  3. I recently got a York 9000 BTU aircon fully fitted and 3 cleans within the first year for 13,000 baht

from a shop on Sukhumvit road.

Nanaphan Electric co LTD 222/15-16 moo 6 Tel : 038-716691-2

recomended to me by some aircon fitters, they buy their supplies there.

you'll pass it on the way into central Pattaya.

They have a good selection of aircon.

The workmen arrived on time and did a clean job, have had them come and clean it once so far

this aircon has been on constantly for 6 months now...no problems.

  4. I found some good stuff today.

Online parts manual for the Raider..they call it " Satria 150 "

    http://eparts.suzuki.co.id/EzPartsWeb/Default2.aspx

and the user manual in English from Motorcycle Philippines forum

    http://motorcyclephilippines.com/forums/sh...nual&page=3

you need to register to see the scaned Jpegs

    or download from here

    Raider_Manual.rar

There is some more info in the Thai Manual about servicing intervals i'll scan and upload them tommorow.

  5. Hi Jeff

I'm down here in sunny Pattaya on sea :)

Yes I can copy the manual its in Thai though, there doesn't seem to be an English version :D

Do you want hard (paper) copy or a digital scan..I would prefer the digital scan so anyone who wants

    can download it.

Would be nice to have a copy of the parts manual.

the AIR screw lets more air in (leaner) as you turn it out. Try 1.5 turns out? (I could be wrong)

Thats my understanding too..but there is some very confusing info on the net about it,depending on if it regulates air or fuel.

Anyway I set mine at 1.75 turns out ( it was 2.5 ) seems to have helped quite a bit with low rev "surging" that

(from what I read ) can be caused by a lean mixture.

You found the Raider you where looking for ? new or second hand ?

My owners manual says the cylinder size ( ขนาดกระบอกสูบ ) is 62.0 mm

Sorry I can't help with any of your other questions I would like to know some places to get aftermarket parts too.

looking forward to your pictures and tire lessons.

Also anyone got a manual for the MIKUNI BS 26-187 carb ?? or know which way the air screw/pilot screw

needs to go on this carb to make the mixture richer.

I think the reason the Nationwide exchange rate looks bad is because they are passing on the 0.85% fee that VISA charge.

Nationwide state that the exchange rate used is as published by VISA

    here.

    http://www.corporate.visa.com/pd/consumer_...amp;rate=0.0085

    ( 0.85% included )

From my experience using this card I'm getting exchange rates very close to those quoted on the VISA website,

it seems they only update the website once a day and of course the actual exchange rate fluctuates during the day

so what appears on the statement doesn't match up perfectly all the time.

Even with the 0.85% charge the Nationwide VISA card is still the best deal for us Brits.

  8. Withdraw 20,000 Baht and if you show a withdraw of $589 then they did not charge you

Well this explains a lot, Barry is using an American card so when using the Ayudha ATM would have been subject to their

dynamic currency conversion ( for US and Euro transactions not GBP )

People with Nationwde visa debit cards ( GBP ) still get fee free transactions from Ayudha Bank. :D

    As a side note:

I went to the GSB ATM on north Pattaya road with my Nationwide visa debt card last night

and as usuall it said comunication error :)

still have to try the one in Carrefour............

  9. I'm assuming the Nationwide card you're referring to is a British card... Is it possible it has the Cirrus/Maestro logos (which are the MasterCard network) on the reverse, instead of the PLUS logo???

Mine is a British card it has a "Link" logo on the back, quite sure thats just for UK use.

On the front it has a Visa logo.

Pattaya City Hall launched 17 million Baht 'Scam'

Pattaya's 17 million Baht advertising campaign incited a backlash with angry tourists.

Pattaya - Be our Guest On August 8, 2009 officials from Pattaya City Hall called an emergency damage-control meeting with local tourist-oriented businesses.

Many angry visitors, mostly local Thai tourists, are calling the 'Pattaya Be Our Guest' promotion a scam and are complaining that no discounts or freebies were actually available.

In fact the fine print of the promotion had not been properly explained and is hard to understand for most people.

The advertising campaign gives the impression that Pattaya is offering free rooms and a lot of other discounts.

But Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome rejected criticism that the 'Pattaya Be Our Guest' media blitz was a waste of money and a scam.

'It was never our intention to give any free rooms to all Pattaya tourists', Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome said during the meeting,

'They were only intended to be granted as gifts for the winners of TV and radio show games'.

The 17 million Baht campaign was launched by Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome, his brother Wittaya Khunplome (the Mayor of Chonburi's Provincial Administration Organization), GMM Live and GMM Media. The four were also the organizers of the Pattaya International Music Festival earlier this year. Somchai Kunplome, also known as Kamnan Poh and the father of the two Kunplome brothers, is currently hiding himself in Cambodia. Thailand's Police is hunting him for corruption and a few other offences. According to the pollice, he is also implicated in a murder. During many years Somchai Kunplome was the mayor of Saen Suk, was involved in the expansion of Bang Saen and had (or probably even has) very good connections to other communities in Chonburi, including Banglamung, Naklua, Jomtien and Pattaya.
