You say only 150 activated the second entry!! But you really don' t know. They could have gone with other companies, to other borders or countries, with airplanes, in private cars or buses, change visas and so on
The 150 comes from 2 companies going to two different borders, Ban Laem and Ban Pakkard.
For example, Aran/PoiPet not allow Filipinos to do Visa Run, so they can not go somewhere else.
I just wanted to give a indication about the situation and I assume that these people really left.
But they can also fly out to activate their second entry of the visa. Today it's very cheap. I don't know how much a border trip cost with your company ? But I have been flying return to 3-4 of the countries around Thailand for 1500-2000 baht with Air Asia and the other cheap airlines
Citizen of ASEAN,including Filipinos pay THB700.- for a Visa Run.

a lot of figures are circulating around. Everyone wondering where are the tourist, etc.
I can see from my business perspective that many people really left Thailand, due to whatever reason.
Just a short summary of a Visa Run Agency, rough figures , but you can see the trend.
Thursday 19th June, two Bangkok based agencies brought appr 500 Filipinos to Vientiane for Visa application.
Filipinos apply for Double Entry Tourist Visa , but do not get the extension from Thai Immigration, means after the two month they do a Visa Run/Exit/U-turn to Cambodia to activate the second entry.
Based on record around 20% of these 500 applicants apply for Non Immigrant Visa, means around 400 people should have turned up at the border around 16th August, but from figures I have only around 150 people used to activate the second entry.
Loss 250 people. Lets assume that from these 250 people may be another 50% have applied Non Immigrant Visa in the meantime. Net loss around 125 people.
Another indication is, before crack down 5 companies had regular trips to border.
Now 2 company stopped, one goes only 2 twice a week, one has reduced to 4 trips a week and only one company goes every day.

I got in last week.
My passport has
3 -Visa waiver stamps
2 -triple entry tourist visas
1 -double tourist entry visa
In the last 3 months I've used 1 double tourist and one visa waiver. Each time they didn't ask me anything.
Did you get in based on Visa Exempt or a valid Tourist Visa?
And what was the time in between your entries.
The IO at Don Muang n Suvanabhumi are still very strict.

A Singaporean friend got rejected last week, he had some visa exempt, 1 tourist visa.
He works online for his own Singaporean company.
He went to S'pore to get some documents to enable him to marry his Thai girlfriend.
He got rejected and had to fly back to S'pore, yesterday he went to Thai embassy to apply for Tourist Visa.

During Political crisis and unrest, even 2010, people kept coming and used our and other company Visa Renewal Service.
But since CRACK DOWN, all visa run related business is down by 50-80%.
No kidding.
You might want to mention that a lot of your service was 90 day reports. At the time you could just take a copy of the passport in. Now you have to take the pass port in so the customer instead of going to your place of business once a year has to go eight times a year. Many is the time I have gone in and it only took less than half an hour at the worst it was an hour and a half but that was only twice.
Also you for the most part are not dealing with tourist Visas you are dealing with permanent residents of Thailand with there multitude of needs. Business School marriage retirement and what not. It would be interesting to see if there has not also been an increase in the number of companies doing the same services.
Our business is 100% related to actual Visa Run Service. Day trips to Cambodia and the Visa application at the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane.

they forgot to add the visa crackdown for long term tourists ...which is one of the reasons like it or not
That is a ridicules statement. To the best of my knowledge a long term tourist can get a double 60 day entry and in some cases a triple entry. Each one capable of extending it's expiry date by 30 days to give a long term tourist 180 days and in some cases 270 days. I don't believe you are talking about long term tourists you are talking about people trying to live here with out declaring it.
and brought a lot of benefit to local businesses, like it or not.
All of their money went into local rental, local mom n pop shops, local transport, etc.

Difficult to keep up with all these unannounced changes.
What is the benefit of doing the conversion in Bangkok?
We lost already 50% of our customer.
Many people told me already, other places are more welcoming.
We are here to assist, promote Thailand and make a living.
Thai Immigration make it very hard at the moment.
Just a thought

due to the crack down the number of Companies is already reduced.
jacks closed long ago,
Bangkok Buddy or Tanja who took over location and timing, runs nowadays only twice a week from 5am.
My dear friend from Ekamai has stopped the daily trips.
We, at Thai Visa Service, still offer daily service, meeting 6.15am, departure around 6.45am.
Meeting place is the parking lot of Tesco Lotus.
Price is THB2,300.- for Westerner, we had to increase as Cambodian Arrival Visa has increased by USD10.- after 1st October.

I know of 4 of our customers have been refused the 30day extension, namely two Vietnamese, one Russian, they had tickets, but were told that due to there nationaloty they get 7days only. 1 UK guy did not show a Ticket in BKK and was given 7 days only.
Best is to prepare a Ticket n proof of stay to ensure you get the 30days.
A Filipino in DanSingKon was given 30days after having paid under the table........

Curious how many foreign criminals are hiding here. After seeing some of the foreigners in Pattaya, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai my hunch it is in the thousands. Would not break my heart to see that entire lot black listed and jailed. A lot of very scary, dodgy, alcoholic, sex tourists here. Thailand would be a far better place without them. Add the Gap year, FMP idiots to the list.
Did any of these people harm you in any way? I still feel very safe in Bangkok.
Thailand has zero tolerance for Foreigners who were convicted of a crime here or back in their home country. If you know of any criminal point them out to Immigration. If not keep your thoughts for yourself.

you can let your visa expire,go to Laos, get a Tourist Visa and while on that Tourist Visa youcan sign up for a new school, currently the waiting time for the approval letter from MOE is up to 5weeks.
The actual Visa application has to be done outside Thailand.
-
not possible to renew.
You have to get a Tourist Visa first.
I assume that this is a extension on stay bought via some agent.
These extensions are not valid any longer and in my experiences any new school can only process a new Ed Visa application after you cleared this old visa.

Thanks for the note, I agree that the communication on our Laos trips is not good as observed by myself, even we employ three staff to guide the people. It was very busy. The US Lady came today to the Thai-Cambodian border and got 30days, she had added pages in the meantime. . We have advised her on Sunday afternoon by email that it might be better to do the Cambodian Run as we can get the stamp even with a full passport, but she decided to try Laos. The US Embassy in Vientiane is adding pages too, but only in the afternoons, so she would have been required to stay a day longer and travel back alone on Wednesday. Anyhow now the problem is solved and we thank you for your support.

Thai Visa Service wrote: "Just got a call from two Ukrainians girls who requested help."
What help, if any, have you been able to give them?
Verbal advise to travel to Penang, use a agent and apply for a Tourist Visa first.
The "Young Women" come three weeks ago with a Non B and were under the process of getting the Work Permit, but decided to take a short trip to Yangoon and no one advised them to get a Re-Entry.
It would have been easy for IO at Airport to give them a Visa on Arrival, sort the paperwork out , again, and let them go to Laos to reapply for a Non B.
-
not sure if you are the desperate US guy who called us yesterday.
Anyway you can join us on a Visa Run to Cambodia, THB2,300.-, as a G7 Member State you get 30days and this can be extended by another 30days at Thai Immigration, so total 60days.
If you from one of these country Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Brunei, Belgium, Czech, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Oman, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Slovak, Slovenia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and UAE you can get 15days and than do the 30da extension at Thai Immigration= total 45days.

Hope that someone in Immigration or TAT with some Authority read this.
Just got a call from two Ukrainians girls who requested help.
I am aware that they did a mistake, but where is the Common sense of Thai Immigration?
According to the book they are correct.
The girls had valid Non B Visa and left to Burma but were unaware that they have to do a Reentry Permit.
Returning from Burma they were denied entry because the Non B is not valid anymore.
They were denied a VISA on Arrival, because they admitted they were working.
They were able to buy ticket to Kuala Lumpur and today in the morning they were denied Tourist Visa in Kuala Lumpur because, new requirement, they were ask to show bank statement. Obvious they were not prepared.
I have suggested them to travel to Penang in the hope that a Tourist Visa will be granted there.
Since the beginning of the infamous crack down I have learnt of many stories and many people left Thailand. IMHO, all these people have contributed to Thailand.
These two girls will also tell their story to their friends and as a result people might decide to spend a holiday somewhere else.

In Ban Laem n Ban Pakkard max 2.
In Aran 1.
You could extend, ONCE, one of the visa exempt stamp by 30 day at Thai Immigration, show Ticket n THB 1,900.-.
If that is not enough I suggest a trip to a Thai Embassy or Consulate to get a 60day Tourist and peace of mind.
-
Under normal circumstances as OP mentioned it already by himself, as you had a expired passport, they would take you to Immigration, charge you with illegal entry only. Not a big deal.
You will be send , the same day, to Court, fined THB6,000.- and deported (after new passport has been issued) without blacklisted.
I guess no one, at this moment in time , can give you correct answers.

I am not aware that Immigration in Bangkok accept agents to do a simple 30 day extension of a Regular Tourist Visa.
AFAIK, these extension must be done in person.
-
Phra Nakorn Ayuthaya Immigration was "famous" for issue genuine stamps, but never gave receipts, so people had problem when leaving. Even Immigration computer records were correct.
Recently some Pakistani got caught in Sukhumvit with real fake stamps from Chachoengsao Immigration and fake receipts.
-
Having a child would give him the possibility to file for a 60 day extension, than go to Laos to get a Non O.
Airport has certain procedure and I believe IO has "more power" than airline.
If refused he would pay for his ticket back to Japan, not believe that Airline is responsible, you are "refused entry", basicly being send to a "holding Room" with no right to move freely in the Airport.

Ensure that you write the Visa number on the arrival card.
