OP should have provided all relevant info from beginning.
Staying in Chiang Saen and being Japanese, so he could have received valuable info from our helpful mod.
Japanese can enter Laos free of charge and you can travel from within Laos to Vientiane.
-
We charge THB3,000.- for transport with VIP Van /transfers, Single Room and meals.
I think it is a good deal as many people underestimate the transportation charges on the Laos side.
Just for your consideration. Thanks

Don't see that implemented tomorrow...
Cambodia 20 USD visa.
Thailand Visa on arrival free...
Going to need to agree on payment or not... Then who keeps the money....
Anyway TAT plans ... Should be ready for 2025...
------
Also might become a hard hit for Visa runners if it ever works...
Tomorrow onwards Cambodia charge USD 30.- for Tourism Visa.
Serious, no joke.
Why TAT does not get it, their ideas are besides the point.

I would do it alone.
Immigration speak enough English.
from my own experiences a Thai friend can complicate matters.
As long as you fulfill the clearly announced requirements it is easy.
People on the forum as helpful too, if unsure send PM to our mods ubonjoe or maestro

Thanks for the swift replies, I suspected as much.
Elite membership is definately out of the question and although an education visa is an option, as I would be keen to learn the language, I wouldn't want to commit to anything long term in advance where costs are concerned. I guess I'm stuck with the tourist visa rotation option for the meantime.
Cheers
You may encounter problems with Immigration at some stage if you're planning to live here indefinitely on back-to-back tourist visas.
Currently no problems if you stay on Tourist Visa

You can get a Triple Entry Tourist, if used correctly it gives you up to 270days.
After that get a Double Entry from Vientiane or Savannakhet, that is another 180days.
At this stage you could travel to other countries to see if you like to stay a year in Cambodia, easy to get yearly extensions, although few golf courses here.
-
100% that you get the 30day extension. From all the countries who can enter on visa exemption only the Vietnamese will not get 30day extension, all other countries will get 30days, thb1,900.-.

Do you do the trip to Laos by big bus? I'd like to try your service, but I'm terrified of minivans.
Understandable, but we use Mini Van, good driver is the van with plate 3133. If you want to book with us, you can text me your name and date you wish to go to 081-8154803 and I shall inform driver to keep a seat for you.
Thanks.

Our TAT License 11-06684. When you enter Thailand via Airport as Traveler without Tourist Visa you will receive a 30 day visa exempt stamp, if you want to continue to stay you can join our trip to Cambodia to get, TWO times, a 30 or 15 day entry stamp (depending on Nationality, see Visa Rule Page), ONE extension for 30 days at Thai Immigration (proof of onward travel and THB1,900.-) is possible. This is positive news as you can stay up to 4 month without going to a Thai Embassy. AFTER THAT YOU HAVE TO APPLY FOR A THAI VISA AT ROYAL THAI EMBASSY VIENTIANE/LAOS. People with valid Multiple Entry Thai Visa are not affected, it is OK to activate your second entry of a Tourist Visa. as of today Ban Laem give 2 stamps after a visa finished or upon first arrival at airport.
So you could do 30days, 30days and than extension 30days.
If you do 30days + 30days extension and than try another 30days at border, that last 30days depends on the IO.
-

Thailand Elite members enjoy it.
Thailand Elite haters dream about it.In the past people worked on visa exempt stamps, tourist visas, non ed and now include the Thailand Elite as well.
At least people on visa exempt stamps. tourist visa or non ed visa cared for by themselves.
Elite Members are being , to make up for the loses, sponsored by tax payers money.

TIT, they offer a program where they loose money to keep few people happy.
I know some member of the old program who work in Thailand while on "visit" with this card, not pay taxes here.
We were offered a commision in selling these cards to our customers, but I declined.

Can go Thai-Cambodia border, but you can still try to extend by 30days at Thai Immigration
-
Just leave via airport.
No problem.
Also no problem when you come back one day.

Nong Khai is OK.

as a operator directly affected by the changes I still scratch my head of why.
What I never understood with the current crackdown is:
They knew exactly how many people did it.
They knew exactly which company brought how many people to which border.
They knew exactly on how many people they arrested during these trips.
In the case of our company they arrested, over 9 years in operation, 2 guys at Ban Laem and none in Nong Khai.
They knew exactly of how much money they made.
They knew exactly of where this people are working or staying.
They know exactly that these Foreigner made all efforts to stay legally in the country.
If these Visa Runners caused them so much "pain", why not raid the work places, etc.
This crackdown has cost the economy huge amount of money and scared real tourist away as well.
IMHO, let the people come and choose to stay, these people are not coming to claim state benefits, unlike in Europe. If they do wrong, than arrest them.
Once they settle they will apply for the proper visa and register companies and contribute to state.
Over to you

You could also do the day trip to Cambodia. Here no restriction with a valid Visa.
We have customers from Hua Hin who do this trip within the same day.
-
This country is going downhill.
-
Two Thai embassies in Laos will do this or you can head to Penang, Malaysia.
Israelis are prohibited to enter Malaysia.
-
Don't you get that when you pass through Thai customs on your way out of the country ?
You get exit stamp if pass Thai Immigration, but at land border they usually check if you really worked up to the last date and if they not believe you, they will refuse you to leave the country.
The OP is best advised to fly out, but could reenter via land border.
-
I think the border in Aranyaprathet require you to have a cancellation stamp in your passport before you leave.
-
thanks for that, i thought just crossing the border and back was a visa run which is now stopped, also when do i need to do this?
You have a valid visa so no problem to reenter.
Agencies like us, from Bangkok, or other companies from Pattaya take you to the border.
Process is usually done within a hour.
As of 1st October cost of Cambodian Visa will go up,expect topay around THB2,300.- for a Visa Run in October.
You can extend your initial 60 day stay at Thai Immigration for THB1,900.-, than do the visa run, but double check the ENTER BEFORE date on the visa.
Cost of doing a Visa run to Vientiane?

I think I am in the wrong business, people are throwing money around. Jesus, THB2,000.- there, THB1,000.- there.
This can be done all by yourself at a fraction of the cost. If you want to safe time than arrive on a Tuesday or Wednesday morning.
