another confusing statement, we had plenty of them already.

No regulation at all.
Up to the IO at port of entry.

In principle it is still possible to stay in Thailand using Tourist Visa, but you have to move around and apply at different Embassies and Consulates.
There is no fix guidelines, but some Embassies and Consulates are more friendlier than others.
It is also good if you get Tourist Visas, from time to time, from your home country.
There is no fix rule about how many back to back TV are allowed.

The damage to the Tourist Industry, real tourism and/or fake tourism, has been done already.
This whole crackdown was so poorly announced and handled that it is a shame.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh issue, easily, Double Entry Tourist Visas, for Cambodian Citizen.
Every border has agents who send passport to Phnom Penh, but people need to be on Cambodian soil.
You can PM me,thanks

If Officials from Ministry of Labor or Immigration "visit" this place you will be in serious trouble.
It does not matter if you working ,studying or do something for free or without pay.
You are in a Office. They suspect you are working.
Do it from your home, it will save you a lot of potential trouble.
Some of these horror stories circulating in forums are actual true.

and Vientiane or Savannakhet in Laos will surely issue a Double Entry.
-
it is ok to use at a normal land border check point.

I think if you use your Irish passport you should be fine.
No, if the name is same the data in the machine readable part will be picked up by the Thai Immigration System.
In case the name is different, due to a missed middle name, miss spelling, etc., that will not be picked up.
We are not familiar with rules of your country about name changes. Usually these changes will be picked up, sooner or later, by Thai Immigration.

15 days is standard unless you are a citizen of a G7 country which gets 30 days or a country that has a bilateral agreement with Thailand, such as South Korea which gets 90 days on any entry.
South Korean are prohibited to enter via any land border, they were the worst abusers and started the current crack down.
Even at the Airport they need valid visa to enter Thailand.
-
if OP plan to go to Mae Sai than we suggest you prepare flight ticket out of country (within 15 or 30 days), cash (depending on officer, some ask THB10k,some 20k), and a hotel booking, if you have already.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane is still OK, in case the applicant had some previous visa in his passport, they will still give a Single Entry for sure.
-
Suggest to travel to Penang, get Single Entry Tourist Visa.
-
Yes, no problem, the crack down was on visa exempt/visa waiver.
The 12th August was the date out/in will be restricted at Airport

our staff at Ban Laem check point confirmed that border officials have not received any further instructions,
means first timers to the border or people with valid Tourist or Non Immigrant Visa will have no problem to reenter.
August 12th was mentioned as the start date at International Airports to stop OUT/IN.
In fact land borders "cracked down" since early June already.

We noted that people seek information on this forum about Arrest Warrant or Black Listing in Thailand.
If you need clarification about your own situation please drop us a pm with
full name, nationality and date of birth.
A small, reasonable fee will be charged.
Thank you

Many people bought Yearly extensions based on ED, clause2.9, through Agents for THB xxxx.-.
These extensions are real, but not correctly obtained, hence Thai Immigration will deny you entry.
You will have no problem in leaving, even getting a Re-Entry is OK, but upon return you will be denied and asked to return to your home country. No exception.
That's very interesting and might explain some of the panic. I have a 90 extension I got at the Immigration Office so I assume I am ok, is that right Thai Visa Services ?????
You will be OK

Perhaps the name of the school on the paperwork to get the extension..
Correct, only study at Universities can get you a straight yearly extension.
Further indication is that initial Non Immigrant Visa was a "B" and from that people got the yearly extension based on 2.9. Easy to spot.

- Many times they use solutions that are "questionable", like getting a non-O stamp from Vientiane while you are in Thailand: that is fully illegal and put you at risk of prison!"Non-O stamp"? You mean non-imm. O visa.
Anyway, that is not done anymore, because immigration looks at the person leaving and entering with a given passport. Bribing for that would be very difficult and expensive.
Pattaya46, as one of Visa Renewal Services bringing people to Thai-Cambodian border or to the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane/Laos we would like to advise that your suggestion is NOT possible and was never possible at these borders. You always have to show up in person, the Embassy requires even copy of following while applying in person: Thai stamp out, Laos visa and Laos stamp in.
Everone travel with passport

Agents from Pattaya or Bangkok travel by van only, but you can ask around in Pattaya if any agent can meet you at the border and take care you on the Laotian side.

Visas issued in SEA are valid for a period of three month, in case of a double entry you must use both entries within that three month.
Visa issued in US,Canada, Europe, Aus are usually valid for 6 month, so your plan might work.

If you run a business and have foreign workers you have to pay the BIB REGARDLESS of the workers having paperwork, ie work visa, work permit, etc,
They even do it at hospitals that have foreign workers. The top cop buy's his position and can keep it for approximately 10 years after that it is sold too another cop, so the extortion money is for getting your money back with a very tidy profit. They don't even care that they are on CCTV, they know they are well protected as it all comes from the big boy's in BKK... Why don't the internal affairs ever seem to catch these guy's? OP"S THEY ARE ON THE PAYROLL ALSO HEHEHEHE
Everyone pay, even Thai Companies with Thai Staff only.

If the Royal Consulate in Penang/Malaysia please check with The Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia.
