  1. Well so well put.

First the Tai wife now makes far more than myself. And second I did marry the Lahu Lass, only to be forgotten for another hiiltribe man while I was off working at one period. So the Thai wife is much better now and Yes the Lahu Lass was a wonderful experience but I just got tired living like and with the pigs.

There are many people who could come to a secret place such as Chiang Mai or north shore Kauai and never know they were in a secret place. They could never see over the haze of thier eyes.

This is what I have been saying some people will never be able to see a or know of a secret place because of thier fears to face the unknown. When I first came to LOS I knew what to look for and could see it. Those of us who can see what we have found for a secret place are the luckiest group alive.

Those of you who can relate know exactly what I mean and it remains our secret. For those who can't see for of the haze, you will nevr know of the secret even thought you could be right in the middle. :o

    sometimes I wonder

  2. The OP is obviously a complete freak...!

Totster, how dare you! How dare you!

The OP is not a freak, he is a 37 yr old good looking chap, no doubt with bundles of cash, personality a good heart and no doubt, huge penis.

And the reason he cant find all the good normal college educated women (coz everyone knows college educated means good right? :o ) is because we the keepers of the good normal college educated women have all their secret hang outs hidden away in threads on this forum.

To find a good normal college educated women, he must do as many have done before him, join Thaivisa, and ask the holiest of holy question

"Where are all the good thai girls?"

    :D

hey, he didn't say he had a huge penis!!

maybe that is why nice Thai women don't want him

  3. What happens if you're younger, although hold a higher social status than the person you are meeting, who would initiate the wai?

well u mean im younger , or older? (if im younger for sure i start to wai)

well if i met someone who is younger than me(not much) , but if he has more seniority in other stuff i might start to Wai them (but they'd not have too much differnt age from me)

It was a hypothetical situation, for example: If I am 25 and have a lot of social status, but greet a person who is 50, but has a lower social status ...who would initiate the wai?

    I'm a little confused :o

    Don't worry, be happy

it is not important, Thai people understand farang cannot get things right!!

  4. I am not a psychologist but......

    I can't resist!! :o

So you are good looking, on the outside? what about inside, Jai dee etc, that is more important

and just attracted to Asian women...do you mean Thai, or Japanese or what....and why??

as for normal Thai women, they seem to be everywhere, they even work in bars. One of my best friends works in a bar, she is not for sale, just a job. So just talk nicely to any woman, don't think you can have sex just because you are such a good looking guy, and maybe you will meet a perfect woman.

  5. Hi all,

I was going through the thread by senoi (do i remember her name correctly?  :D ). While reading I come across some replies which are too biased and shows the background of the respondent.  :D

Ok, now here is a real story again. This time this story does not belong to the guy I mentioned in my earlier post.  :o

One of my friend is moslem (never mentioned him before  :D ) and he is going to marry his buddist gf. Both of them are working as respectable professionals and both agreed that the girl need not to be converted. They also agree that girl can eat pork, if she wants. They also decide that their baby will not follow any religion till he is young, he will choose his religion once he grow up.  :D

Now, my question is from those people, who send pathetic replies. What do u think about this guy and what are your predictions for the future of this couple?

It all depends on how strict they feel about their religions, and how their families react. Both these factors would make a big difference to the success of their marriage.

Many Muslims are not fanatic about their religions, although that can change.

I have a friend who is married to a Muslim; the only problem they have is that he will not kiss her after she has eaten pork!! so she does not bother to eat it, it's not so important to her.

Defining people by their religion can be a bit predjudicial, unless they do it themselves.

  6. you probably right Morden

so where did you meet your Thai wife??

Sorry, SiamOne, this is all way off your topic. We met in BKK through an agency. She's a farmer's daughter from Isaan. I'd booked a holiday and was prepared to walk away from the idea of meeting someone through an agency if it didn't feel right but we just clicked.

I learned many years ago not to judge people by their background, education, job or social standing. Many people in LOS are caught in an economic trap and are unlikely ever to be wealthy in a material sense. However, the people that I have met around Pak Thong Chai could teach many of the Brits that I know a great deal about quality of life and family values. My experience is also that a Thai woman will put a great deal more committment into a marriage than many British women that I have met.

yes, it seems that Thai women are more committed than Farangs. maybe that has to do with cultural background and family. In the west it seems that divorce is an easy option. In Thailand it is a difficult one, to be avoided if possible. Maybe I am wrong about western values though. I am sure divorcing is just as hurtful there as here!!

  7. A friend of mine in London sent me three books which were not available in Bangkok.

They addressed to my office there. One day the postman called (once) and said the parcel was in the central post office waiting for me to collect it, as there was some import duty to pay. So he could not bring it to me. The duty was 12 baht.

ouch, just getting there and back was more than that!!

  8. but they sure did and do in the north shore of Kauai

So, you finally admitt that Hawaii is the place to be!!! See, folks, this guy is really trying to lead you astray...in the US his tactic is called 'bait and switch'. He shows you pictures of a great place (which is actually Hawaii) and then lures you to the h3ll hole he so affectionately call his secret place! Don't be fooled by promises of "the good life" in the north....you won't find it in the north...definitely not the north...........

yes, it's true, so sad. The north is terrible, the food awful and the weather, you would not believe it. Some farangs come here to stay but soon find the north is not what they expected at all. I dont understand why they still here :o:D

  9. If money wasn't a concern, Thailand would not be my choice of places to live.  I would much rather live in Japan half of the year and then the other half in the land of my ancestors, Sicily.

OK so why is Japan better than Thailand for living (besides the cost problem)?

I have never been there, so am interested

  10. For a long time I live in a secret place in Hawaii. Those of us who lived there tried not to tell many people of the lifestyle for fear of those to come and ruin it. One day I decided to try Thailand for a visit, I got ripped off in BKK and left and found Chiang Mai. I asked DW about infromation one day and found out about the Lahus. Well I moved in there north of Chiang Mai and was in heaven again but just did not have the cops chasing us out of the jungle like Hawaii. I have not told many about these jungles in Thailand and the Other places.

I love Thailand but now have a Thai wife and am forced to work and save in USA for a while. This is all I like about USA is the ability to work for great sums. But if I need to see a doctor or dentist I spend. Not like Thailand.

The people are beautiful, things are cheap, the food is the best and also cheap.

I still do not tell many people about where they can find so much because Chiang Mai is becoming so overpopulated already and I will not help it become more so.

There are some secret places that should be kept secret so they do not become like everywhere else.

So the only wnining should be done over how many people have found the secret place and by those who have not made it back yet.

Face it Chiang Mai and a few other place have so much to offer us Hippies of the world.

    post-7789-1124109632_thumb.jpg

bloody ######!!! that is a secret place. I have never found a beach near Chiang Mai, please share with us....please :o:D

  11. Saraburioz,

You seem to be a very angry and unhappy man but there's no need to project your feelings of inadequacy onto the rest of us. When you learn to accept yourself you will also learn to be less judgemental of others and to take pleasure in the fact that each of us is different from the others. You and your wife are no better than anyone else and, perhaps, no-one else is better than you.

To be a bit more basic, if you come onto a forum such as this and insult a substantial proportion of its members and their partners, you can expect to get a good lashing.

    you probably right Morden

so where did you meet your Thai wife??

  12. why everyone call it LOS, seems like a convenient way to not understand things!

yes, we smile, but many smiles!! don't be fooled by them all.

we are Thailand, or Siam for old ones

    land of good food (LOGF)

    land of cute girls (LOCG)

land of cheap oranges (LOCO) ok I was trying too hard

  13. everyone likes to talk about rain, so popular!!

ChiangMai has become so expensive now, many markets cannot operate, food is not easy to find like before, just because of rain.

well, the river Ping really, flooding all the tourist area, and Loh Kroh too, so the girl bars cannot operate. But other bars get more full, so no problem there!

keep nice and dry all of you

  14. For anyone that is living, or has lived in Chiang mai can they give me some idea if this accomodation is good value. It seems great to me, but have no real idea!

    http://www.direct-housing.com/details.php?huisnummer=15

    Thanks

It is a bit expensive, but not too crazy

you can stay there for 3 months, and find a better place in the meantime. It gives you a central place to stay until you find a better one. Talk to people in the bars etc

  15. If you want to go to a bar with great atmosphere try the Chaingmai Saloon on Loi Kroh, 200 metres walk fro Starbucks at the Night Bazzar. Thats where many of us TV members are meeting up for a drink or ten this saturday (13th)

If you are here at this time why not come along, you would be more than welcome

    Cheers

    TP

yep, the Saloon is nice enough

BUT....the owner can be a miserable bloke, esp. after one of his (frequent) quarrels with his wife

and his peanuts are terrible, they used to be excellent!! :o:D

  16. I am FIRMLY of the opinion that if you have enough money to open a successful business you have enough to retire on and just enjoy life. Who needs the headaches and the politics.
