  1. Although the comparisons mentioned here between Thai and Chinese are mostly behavioral or physical, I have a comment regarding surnames. I was talking to one of my wife's friends yesterday who is Thai-Chinese. Her father was Chinese and her mother's father was also Chinese.  She said that her last name is five syllabols long which indicates that she is Thai-Chinese. She said that 100% Thais will have last names of 1 or 2 syllabols. Although I could not completely understand her, I believe she said that Chinese are forced to change their last names to be 3 or more syllabols long. Has anyone else heard of such a thing? Can anyone tell me if this is true and why this is done?

    not always right..

my friend's surname is SNITWONGSE, she is 100%thai = 3 syllabols.

no, that is nonsense. my name is 4 syllables, and I dont have much discernible chinese in me!!

    and other friends too :o:D:D

  2. Blimey Khall! :D !

I had forgotten most of that! :D !

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

Sadly cannot let children do this in the UK anymore, too many sicko's :D

Thanks for a reminder of what life used to be like! :D !

oh you old dreamers!!! my hubbie tells me he used to play in the local park all day, but there were always dirty perves getting their will*es out and waving them around.

Kids used to be found murdered then too, and rapists are not a new invention. It is just we are all more aware of the dangers, due to instant news etc, but it would seem we worry too much due to the wide reporting. :o:D

  3. i must admit, being english and on average showering twice a week (in england) I think thats about right, this idea of having to shower 3 times a day, ye gods, i must admit if i arrive back at 2 oclcok in the morning after my 15 bottles ogf heinekin, showering aint on my list!, next we will be told we can't fart in bed!

you can fart in bed, as long as you are by yourslef :D:D

Your English sound so smelly, but the ones I know shower every day

although not at 2am after a few beers, too dangerous!! :o

  4. oh Ginger, I think you are confusing Thai girls and bar-girls!!

it is not difficult to get a bargirl, as all above have said....money, it is their work. Never mind you are ugly ginger, and have a small thing, and even spotty botty, as long as you have money

    no money, no honey!!

1000 girls, you like to spend a lot on girls, don't you; does it make you think you are a real man, or what?? get real, you are just buying them, like you buy services of any worker.

have you ever met a real Thai girl, just an ordinary one? maybe you would get lucky even if ugly, if you are a really nice guy hahahahahaha :D:D:o

  5. it sounds like a real pain

better go to the police and pay a little to have some guards set up around your house. They can be very good, the police always like to make a little extra!!

once you have good relations with local police, a lot of your problems can be solved....just pay!! :D:o

  6. oh sorry, that last post not really on topic

never mind websites etc, the best thing is to find a good lawyer. Unlike USA and UK etc, they are very cheap and can help a lot. :o:D

  7. I was wondering if anyone knows of a website that has the laws of Thailand translated into English. It would seem that depending on who you ask you get a differing answer.

...including police and judges. In other words, "the law" is unlikely to help you if you actually get into a situation where you think you need to use it.

law in Thailand does depend, to some extent, on who you know, or pay

I am sure it was like that in Farang countries when they were undeveloped.

but...my hubbies daughter came for a visit to CM last year, had her bag snatched. I have never seen so many police and so helpful too. Maybe 'cos she is blonde and beautiful!! anyway, she got her report for insurance without any hassle, but her bag was never found.

  8. The rain is stoatin' doon wi a vengeance here in Scotland: time 2:09am

    Page 38

is stoatin' doon a bit like cats and dogs???

I love English (sorry, Scottish) language, so full of weird nonsense that makes sense to locals!!

I am in KL, and we got stuck in a bar for four hours at the weekend, because of the heavy rain. It was pis*in' down (see, I can do it) and we were pis*ed :D:o:D:D

  9. the most important thing is to find a nice kingsize bed for her and a wide screen TV, they spend most of their life with these 2 things.

hey you, don't be so patronising!! maybe your experience with a Thai woman is like that, but not me or my friends

    mind you....... :D:o

  10. First of all apologies!  tried to post this a little while back and something strange happend to my PC and not sure if it got posted! I waited a while and it didnt show but dont know how long it takes to appear - so it may be here twice!

Ok, I am really thinking here of make-up, cosmetics in general that kind of thing! I am in the UK and I knowthere are body shops in Thailnd and i like their stuff but dont know what the prices are like there. I also know that lots of shops sell some nail varnish, sun lotion etc but from what i have seen they are brands I dont know. Can you get lots of brands from UK ( for instance L'oreal,) or are they expensive? Or do people use local brands? And are there any things that you either just cant get or are too expensive?

yes, imported brands are expensive, but there are good local equivalents if you look around

ask Thai women about what you need :o:D

  11. Paul is spot on.The wife hated the UK until she met some Thai friends in the Chinese supermarket in Greenwich. After that no worries.

that is true...I was quite lonely in London, feeling homesick, but then met some Thai friends and everything changed for the better

When we go to another country, it becomes difficult again, but not so bad as that first time

as long as I can phone my friends occasionally, and haveThai food, all is well!

but....it also would depend on the girl herself :o:D

  12. I fell in love with the Far East, hook, line and sinker back in 1967.  I loved the asian girls, the hot wet weather and the asian way of life.  I have been to Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia in earlier years.  I always promised myself that I would come back some day and settle down like a character from one of Neville Shute's books.  I finished my working career and headed for Thailand a couple of years ago. I have not looked back since and I will never return to the UK to live. I am now married to a wonderful girl from Surin and we have a beautiful baby daughter thats brings us even closer together. A second chance in life to find happiness and fulfillment - you bet!    :o  :D

    you romantic, you!!

    and good luck :D:D

  13. i am a person who come form Hong Kong..

is any one can help me to catching some

    beetles ?

i will pay him back money,,

    for more detail,,

please reply me or send me a message in this forum..thank you

and if this topic is not suitable in thes forum ..

please help me delete it,,thank you

    I hate this!!!

If you look in the nightmarket and other places, you can see all sorts of butterflies and big bugs in glass cases for sale. This is terrible, these are our heritage, some of them are threatened species.

Do not do this, the environment will suffer

  14. I know I have young skin and I shouldn't really be wearing makeup but I've worn it since I was 13 and I'm pretty used to it now. And it's not like I look like a clown,

    Suggestions?

oh, you are so right. You know you should not wear any, esp in the daytime.

I dont, it is not necessary. You got used to it, so feel naked going out without it OK

so try to use less, or try none, get used to that, it is much better for your skin

I bet you would look just as nice, or nicer without :o:D

  15. Everyone matures at different ages - I say you need to take it on a case by case basis.

exactly! so the question cannot have an answer, it depends on the person

everyone has different experiences, has different brain and way of appreciating those experiences,

I know young girls who are ready, both emotionally and physically, for sexual relations, and older ones who are not

same goes for any "adult" activity, drinking, gambling, marriage etc

dont try to generalise and average people, it doen't work
