  1. Oh dear, bkkm, you sound a bit jaded, but you do have a point

are there really people who spend all their time on this forum? Maybe they need a family (marry a Thai girl, that would fix it) or need to escape from a family (divorce her)

any addiction is a bit sad, but the need for human interaction is also fundamental

    maybe this site provides that?

as for me, I just like wasting time between working on my book

Bkkm is right though, go to the gym, or a bar, and talk to real people more!! :D:D:o

  2. This is an interesting and complex topic of which I don't see many serious replies. I find there is some difference with Thai vs western ladies. The under 30 or so seem to be more "liberated" I would say and are more "give and take" re sex. What I have seen of the over 30 are a bit prudish and old-fashioned by my standards. Sometimes mine seems to be less knowledgeable than high school girls I have known many decades ago. She is 35 and sometimes acts like 65. I don't really know if she does not like me or does not like sex with anyone. Sex is not her first priority in any case..

that sounds sad...how about your priority? and you could always ask her :o

  3. If directly on the equator, depending on the time of year the sun goes round either to the North or the South....does anyone know if Thailand ever experiences this????

hmmm, I think you have a small problem!!

Thailand is well north of the equator, just south of the tropic of Cancer

so no way would you see the sun behave like that

    Educated in Thailand?

    cheeky boy, I stand corrected!!

educated in Thailand true, but I wasn't listening a lot of the time, esp. when the sun was out and overhead somewhere :o:D:D

  4. You know, all this business about the house being in only the wifes name, it is true

but you can avoid all the hassle, and the worry about whether your Thai wife will take it and dump you quite easily.

I did this for my husband when we bought a house, in my name, his money. I leased the house to him for 20 years, for a nominal amount. Now I cannot throw him out after an argument (feel sorry about that sometimes!!) so he feels secure with me, and we are happier.

Do it if you have any worries, or even if you dont :o:D:D

  5. I forgot to say that my mother-in-law owns the kindergarten.

tell her to borrow it off the mother in law then. Why does it always have to be the farang who gets put into awkward situations like this. You have become an easy touch by lending money before. Neither a borrower or lender be, is the best policy here. :D

Yes, I agree, unless the money is for a medical emergency etc.

I find if you lend someone money, a neighbour, friend or whoever, the relationship changes between you, for the worse. It is just bad "karma" or something.

Also, as someone else has said, get some equivalent gold as colateral. :o

  6. of to Panang to get a new non im B this weekend.  Never been there.

Can I expect to find some trouble to get into?......nudge nudge, wink wink..

    :D

Penang is a nice place, not much nightlife really

not open and easy anyway, but ask any taxi driver to take you to "Karaoke"bar, or similar dump :o:D

  7. Oh Dear, some parents are so greedy.

and its not just for farang husbands either!!

I have two good friends who regularly get cash demands from their families, and send them all they can. Usually the mothers ask.

one is for the mothers business, to make it bigger, or need a new this and that etc, or medical bills or whatever. She pays out almost 60% of her salary and has nothing left for herself.

the other one just is blackmailed into sending as much money as she has, which mainly gets drunk by her mother

I have asked them why, as the other sisters/brothers do not send anything. It seems they are seen as the family "providers", and they feel they cannot refuse.

    What to do!!? :o:D

  9. I went on Bkk chat posing as an 18 year old uni student, and set up five meetings with men that night at five different BTS stations.

I was tempted to walk around and see them possibly waiting for "me" but I thought I'd done enough damage already.

you are a bad boy!! did it turn you on doing that??

or what was the point? :o:D

  10. What country are you from Dodger?

If i remember correctly, this has been discussed before. The outcome was, why save in a Thai account when the interest rates are so low. If your in the UK, i believe the best company to put your money in, is the Nationwide, as you can use the ATM's to withdraw cash in Thailand and they don't charge you for it?

    MrBoJ

Yes, that is more or less true!

I had a Nationwide account, and an Abbey one The Abbey charged for any ATM withdrawals, the Nationwide did not...BUT Nationwide had worse exchange rates, so in the end the costs for withdrawing about 150 pounds was nearly the same!!

But I think it is better to transfer as much as you may need to an account in Thailand, now and then. The transfer cost is not high, and the exchange rates are much better that way. So for amounts above 5000, you win easily. So not a savings account, but a normal account is enough

  11. Hello all, The Dude Here. I would like to answer the OP's question here with all of the candor that one would expect from me. After all, he did specify that he wanted the truth so I will so give that to him and all of you. I arrived here 3 yrs ago and save visa runs I have remained here and not strayed from my original goals I had when I left the USA. I came here with one purpose in mind; I came with the sole pupose of having the most monumentally massive shag fest that a human vould have. I continue on this path daily. Thank you for reading

    Nice.

    keep safe
