  1. The Shinawatra family are the only chance of winning an election as they are loved by the rural masses but everyone knows that money is key. 300 baht offered in the last election for everyone in the village to turn up to their speech (they could of still voted the other way, I believe, but hardly anyone bothered to turn up to the other candidates speech's). More than half turned up and when you factor in all the other villages it must of cost millions upon millions. No surprise that party won by a landslide I stated then why would they vote for them knowing it was so corrupt. I lent money to GF's uncle to buy votes in the local village elections just to be the under boss of the village headsman. It cost him 40k/50k baht to buy the votes but it guaranteed him a paid job for 4 years. (touch and go, he won by 2 votes with 3 void votes that had voted for his opponent). Its a completely normal and expected practice. He just spent more money than the other candidate, who, with a much larger family in the village and sponsored by the headsman believed they would win easily.
  2. An air of authenticity must be given in order that an impression of fairness and democracy is perceived for the upcoming election If the end result of the election cannot be manipulated, don't worry, we have already installed 250 senators so that we/I will be voted in to be the next prime minister and still have complete control. Everyone a winner.
  3. Banks are not interested in that information they happily accept that a quota of fraudulent transactions will occur. 3 times i have had purchases(internet) on my card and been refunded each time . The last one was for online shopping from a well known supermarket which just by sheer chance i had noticed that it had only just gone through. I phoned and explained that all they need to do is contact the supermarket find the address and get the police to arrest them when they hand over the shopping. i was basically told that it was too much hassle and they weren't interested but i would receive a refund in the next hour, which i did.
  4. My only claim is of being named on the birth certificate and he has my family name on the birth certificate yes i have a non o visa entry now which has been stamped to the 29th Jan 2023 I have read this topic on numerous occasions which gave me cause to believe it would be a simple process. At the Amphur i was shown an A4 paper that had a copy of some ones passport and the translated copy next to it There was also a stamped letter from the UK embassy validating the passpor.t I don't know if it was a separate letter or on the back of the copy/translated passport as there was no stamp covering the passport In other words it might of been a photo copy of the other side. I think the topic you mention needs to be updated as although you do not need a lawyer you will need translated copies of your passport, could this be done at trendy office?
  5. I have put this here as not directly connected to immigration So i have finally arrived back in Thailand with a Non 'O' with the intension of getting an extension regarding being a parent of a Thai child. This was talked about last year but the conditions of the Kor Ror 11 were not mentioned My first hurdle started when i went to get the Kor Ror 11. They need my passport translated and stamped/verified by the UK embassy. Can i do this all at Trendy office building Bangkok or do i need to make an appointment with the UK embassy? obviously time being the factor I am happy to make the long trip from Issan to Bangkok to get things moving quickly as i know that once i have the Kor Ror 11 immigration has to send all the relevant documents to Khon Kean who issue the extension and this can take up to a month My only other hurdle as such was when i tried to explain to immigration that i just wanted to renew my extension each year, much like any other yearly extension I stated that i would get a re-entry permit upon which the immigration officer stated "cannot" So my second question is why can i not get a re-entry permit or do I not need one (unlikely) as this will very much make my plans redundant.
  6. Putin has demanded that all oil and gas has to be bought in Russian roubles. Even though the EU outlawed this act many nations have got round it by buying their energy through a company who then in turn buys it in Russian roubles. Billions of roubles are being bought and thus artificially increasing the value of roubles. No one anticipated this happening, roubles are now 2.5 times higher (against most currencies) than before the conflict. No one really knows how long this can sustained but it has nullified the effects of sanctions to a certain extent for the time being.
  7. By your second introduction had you then wised up to realise what you were actually missing? So what your really trying to say when you state you did lots of research, you came to the opinion (in your own words) 'that as you were fat and not that particularly wealthy' there was still a reasonable chance you could snatch a woman in Thailand as your limited funds would still impress. Lets face it once you've seen one temple your seen them all.
  8. As already stated just print off the email approval notice and hand it to the immigration officer at the arrival check in booth at Bangkok airport, with your passport obviously. Apart from some of the questionable and unnecessary questions in the application it is that easy and simple.

    Covid 4th shot?

No you have to book an appointment. The fact you have been out of the UK for 7 years should make no difference. Last year upon returning from Thailand i phoned up and went to a local fire station where they were doing the covid jabs, that was only 3 or 4 days before my appointment. Its all pretty well organised wherever you go to make sure it a quick in and out and minimal waiting.

    Covid 4th shot?

As long as you are over 55 you can get a booster shot within about a week in the UK. I went through my doctor but you can ring the covid line and go to a walk in centre. I believe they have been modified to cater for the new variants. mine was Pfizer/BioNTech
  11. I can only assume you are pro Russian or pro Putin. A better analysis of your statement can be found here https://bitterwinter.org/donbass-did-ukraine-kill-14000-pro-russians/ from my observation it seems the reason there has always been fighting within the Donbass region is due the fact that it is filled with 45+% of migrants from Russia who have decided they now want to be part of Russia. Enlighten me if I'm wrong. You obviously think that's ok? Your statement has no bearing on the atrocities that Putin has committed. A man who obviously has no morals in regards to whether the civilians he has killed or is killing, by bombing civilian buildings, are Pro- Russian or Ukrainian. There is, and never will be, no acceptable reason for his actions Or the known violent and sadistic Neo-Nazi mercenary's Putin has hired to apparently rid Ukraine of Nazism https://www.rferl.org/a/russian-neo-nazis-fighting-ukraine/31871760.html
  12. For those reading this and waiting for a refund, all I can say is, 'don't hold your breath'
  13. Absolutely true, but this process has been documented here before, a lawyer is not required for this process as long as you have her approval and goes with you to the Amphur. I will be going through this process next month
  14. i did a goggle search and found this was an issue last year and also answered on asean now, Something to do with outlook. i put this into google "thai e visa verification link not working. It was solved but had to use new email address
  15. Did you use auto fill when creating the account as it does specifically say not to do this somewhere as it may cause conflict's? If you cannot resend the link it or it does the same thing i would try and make another account
  16. just did this visa, lots of questionable questions. So much so, i sometimes put in paperwork that was not needed just to make sure. For this one i put in my passport, driving licence and a utility bill with my address on it. The good news is, once submitted it it only took 2 days to be approved,
  17. there are different versions of it in little packets some maybe more potent. lately found some in a small bottle, more powder but just as good As i am out of the country for 8 months of the year they build up but, It is one of the first things i do when i arrive(kill all the nests around the side of the house} sometimes can take a little longer than a few weeks but eventually there are no ants inside the house. You will find that as the toxin diminishes the other hatching ants (presumably) will remove all the dead ants and put them in a pile, (if they survive long enough). As someone has said, as they walk over it they normally only get about a foot before they are dead so you can put it on their path or at the entrance to the nest. The big red ants, due to a branch from a tree touching the house had made a nest in the eaves and making trails al over the side of the house. Gf laughed and stated that it would not harm them, Came back an hour later to find the side of the house still covered in ants but on closer inspection found them all to be dead.
  18. Don't know if this is the same thing but you can buy it in most village shops. Use it very sparingly as said, a few crystals or minute amount of powder will wipe out the whole nest. do it again if they return or eggs have hatched after a few days/week and then they will be gone for a few months at the very least
  19. Entered last year on exact same dependant visa in respect of a child but now they have changed the documents required together with some weirdly written questions This is a 90 day visa but i am staying for 107 days in the invitation letter( hope they will not pull me up on that) as i will be changing it to a yearly extension once i have legitimised my son To cut a long story short can anyone help with what documents are required for the following questions as i would like to get it right first time 5 . Personal details of a family in Thailand, e.g. ID card, Passport and the visa page or stay permit in Thailand This cannot be referring to my son or Thai GF ? as all the details are provided in the accommodation question (GF's ID card and house book) 8 . Residence permit in a country in which visa application is submitted (In case that applicant is not a national of the country in which visa application is submitted. What do i summit( you have to summit something) as being a national of my country nothing is required here. 9 . The letter from your spouse indicated that you both are still married and he/she acknowledges of your visit. This is a parental dependant visa, why would she need to acknowledge anything if you have submitted a letter of invitation. Again do i need to submit anything and if not what do i provide 10 . Bank statement, showing GBP10,000 minimum, with name & visible Not a problem but have already provided 2 and a half months statements in question no. 3
  20. More to the point, how does a bank official amass that amount of money?
  21. Its what some experts are predicting it may be in January of next year. however a lot can happen before then. The last time they said energy prices were going to rise they actually only rose approx 50% of the actual quotes. That's not saying it won't happen but the figures will still be high. Government could simply lower the tax on it. but why would they, ching ching, more money for them. instead just give all the unemployed lazy <deleted> £400 to spend on cigarette's and takeaways, its cheaper.
  22. i don't think anyone is going to be putting their name in the hat as they all know how Putin got to where he is now.
  23. don't know how you can say German is hard when so many words sound similar to English or begin with the same letter as in English. links left, rects right, hund hound, frei free, zucker sugar, haben have, miich mik, auto car gold gold, tea tee, red rot and the list goes on and on.
  24. Top stream at school, took army test at 18 and was in the top 5% of the country and have a degree. I don't live here permanently, three to four months a year. I think at my age now (59) i am just lazy. I would need to set aside a few hours (at least) each day to learn. Having said that, some people just take to it like water off a ducks back regardless of IQ Before i go somewhere i always ask the GF what i need to ask and she says don't bother they will not understand you. The reality is, she is correct, as the language is so tonal. i just phone her when i get there and hand them the phone. Sometimes I can pick out specific words to get a gist of what someone is saying but very limited I do need to learn more as it would be so much more fulfilling being able to understand others even if my spoken Thai was still way below par
  25. Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra was also charged, but he has been living in exile. A warrant for his arrest was issued by the court. He was later tried in absentia, but was found not guilty by the same court in 2019. How strange that all political activists are able to be tried in their absence but rich heirs are not, thus allowing them to out run the statue of limitations?
