You can sign up and be accepted by US exchanges, but can't sign in from Thailand because they don't accept ID verification from abroad.... even if you use a VPN.   Anybody have a workaround for this problem?

A few yrs ago I signed up with itbit in new york and they did thorough KYC and AML checks on me. I passed and they have my thai address in the system. They will wire funds to your thai bank account. They are now called Paxos. (ibit by paxos). They are highly regulated and really professional

Avoid coinbase at all costs. what a pathetic exchange that is. Constantly hearing about them freezing user accounts

Sounds totally normal. Just lay off for a few days.

Also, hotel beds and pillows mess me up all the time.  I went to the hospital one morning in Europe it was a nice hotel, but the bed was mush messed up my back and neck I need ultra firm. Could barely walk.

I think thats what happened to me. I just had a dodgy hotel bed and woke up in so much pain all day. Lasted 2 days. Had a massage and was happy at the end of it. It healed me.

Hmmm, not that I don't have compassion for you. However, we are on this forum for a specific reason. Why are such personal - health and other subjects, which really have nothing at all to do with the forum title are published  here?
Are there not other threats for these and other non forum -  subjects?
    Just my 5 c.

duh.... this is the 'Health' forum. Did you think you're in the footy forum??

Why do you read this post if it annoys you? Ha ha. Your comment made me laugh

  4. My son is now 6 and in a few weeks he will have to do a test to get accepted into the local government primary school that all parents want their kids to attend.

He's attended the last 2 yrs at a mediocre fee paying school with Thai and Filipino teachers. A year ago I decided to pay for homeschooling via a quality/ expensive college based in a Western country. Its been so good for him and now he can read and write. Its been amazing to see him progress with reading.

I have been teaching him both English and Maths and noticed he doesn't like Maths- and actually he's not so crash hot at it either....

The wife now tells me that on the day of the test we have to choose either the EP or the Maths program. We can't apply for both which is so stupid. So if our son doesn't get accepted into the Maths program he doesn't have any chance for the EP program. He can still go to the said school but it will be in the schools generic class program. I'm worried about this as it probably will not be so good and no air con in the rooms.(but I need to investigate the facts more regarding this before making judgements).

My wife is ambitious and has her ego/ reputation to consider.... and wants our son to try for the Maths program as 'thats where the smartest kids go'. I worry that if he somehow gets into the program he will be at the bottom of the class and unhappy.

Alternatively he enjoys English and so confident and happy doing it. I suspect he would be at the top of the class. Its certainly the case at his current school where the teacher doesn't let him answer any questions anymore because he's one of the few that can do the work.

Im reaching out to any teachers on this forum to guide me a little bit on this matter. What should we do? Personally I think the EP classes would be the best for him and we could continue the private Maths classes on weekends part time. Maybe try in a few yrs to get into that top Maths class or whatever.

    Thanks

  5. A few weeks ago I started getting pain in my right knee joint. First time its ever happened. I do a short run/ fast walk every day with my dog- twice a day but never had an issue. I noticed when walking upstairs I get a sharp pain.

4 days ago I had severe neck/ back pain. We were staying in a hotel and unsure if it was the pillow. Ive never had that sort of pain before either.

This morning I woke up with pain on the sole of my right foot. Actually it was all a bit numb  as well on the right foot area.

Im middle aged. Is this just an old age thing. Anyone with any ideas?

  6. I have been living in Thailand for ages and used to be a teacher. Have paid tax here before but not in the last couple of yrs because I have not be working.

Years ago I sent money from my bank back in the mother country to an exchange in the States and purchased bitcoin. Actually I purchased it from a few exchanges and just held onto it. I passed KYC at a major exchange in the States years ago.

Im an non resident of my mother country for tax purposes so I know I dont have to pay any tax there.

But I assume I will have to pay it here? Otherwise if my bank starts to report large deposits from a thai exchange I could get into hot water...

I'm unsure how competent my local tax office will be with regards to reporting a capital gain on bitcoin. I suppose I should go via an 'accountant'.

Anyone have any knowledge on this subject

Thanks kindly and lets assume the next stop for BTC is usd100k by the end of 2021...

  7. That headhunter is a true douche. Guy thinks he's some kind of celebrity.

That housewife needs a gik. Moan, moan and more moan. Her husband is SO playing away

Dancer's boyfriend really epitomizes the chancer-type so assured of his "talent" that an entire lifetime of refusals hasn't delivered the message.

The dancer is deluded. No opportunities here for an old white bird with crooked teeth and dubious choreography skills

very funny comment. This should be nominated for the post of the year. All very true comments. She cant dance for sh*t. The housewife is a bad mother feeding her kids cheese biscuits and no doubt her husband is going for soapy massages to relieve stress of having a wife like her.

  8. This show is a low class program.

Gary is a 'would be if he could be' kind of guy trying to put on a posh accent in his rented condo. I think he will look back at this program in 20 years time and see what a prat he is. Who in their right mind would pay for a cleaner and her accomodation for a small condo like that. They really should cut out shots of him in his ugly speedos. He is not made for them at all. What a fool.

The dancing duo are a joke also. She is mutton dressed up as lamb and cant dance to save her life. Go get a teaching job or will you be crap at that as well.

Billy the barman is a no hoper with no brains. The investor of that bar must have rocks in his head to front money for billy. What a disaster waiting to happen.

I liked the tourist policeman. They have to put up with a lot of crap and giving their time on the beat for free is worthy of a gold medal.

2.5 out of 10. Sack gay gary. Gary needs to learn that its vulgar to pretend to have money. Even folk with real money dont brag about it. You are a farmer boy with no class.... we can tell

  9. I'm having language issues dealing with the local Ford dealer. Using the wife to translate but getting different answers from the dealership. If you have recently purchased a Wildtrak ford can you assist:

    1. The factsheet with the prices and finance payments states in the summary section that: 'Ranger Wildtrack 2.2 litre- UD1K DBL 2.2L 4x4 HR WT AT (MY15). All I understand from this is that its a 2.2 litre 4 wheel drive. What does the rest mean?

The dealer just told the wife that the 4WD is only available in the 3.2 litre. The narrative on that one says 'UK8K DBL 3.2L 4X4 WT AT'

There is another 2.2 litre listed and maybe thats the one that doesnt have 4wd. Perhaps the local dealer that Im using doesnt stock the 2.2 litre 4wd option.

On the ford website there is no mention of the reverse sensor option which is on the 3.2 litre wildtrack. I want to know if this is also on the 2.2 litre

thanks for your help with my daft questions. I clearly have no idea about cars but we are not all created equal.

  10. My best buddy in LOS is my wife.

I have drinking buddies, talking buddies, walking buddies but none compared with the connection and friendship I have with my wife.

Well it's just about impossible to have any serious conversation with a Thai so i can't see how the wife could be your best friend. Coming from totally different backgrounds , cultures and levels of education it's just not possible. I've never met a Thai in 11 years who would be capable of an in depth conversation. The wife ... lol , my misiss is as thick as two short planks. She's a great girl but not my best mate. More like a great shag and treats me like a Roman Prince.

    your a classy guy.

  11. At this time I would say go for number one. The only confirmed reports of people being turned away that have a tourist visa has been at the southern borders.

Some of the news also has gotten a bit confused because of the confusion of exempt entries and tourist visas. An article posted yesterday clearly was confusing the two.

I'll try to stay with option number 1 until the last minute, but I'll keep an eye on what is happening over the next few weeks.

I sort of agree with the guy who posted first in a way. I'm so sick and tired of feeling like I'm in limbo and I just want somewhere I can relax while applying for new passport, but at the same time I love where I'm staying on Samui.

Does anyone know if Sihonoukville is the same as Samui as far as a beach is concerned.

I just need a decent place with kitchen and internet access to work, so nothing fancy matters such as cinemas, night clubs, fancy foreign food stores, etc.

sihanoukville is the most dangerous place in SE Asia. Its the wild west and I would avoid it if I were you. Go to bali, lombok, gili islands. Its peak season there and NO RAIN. its the dry season. Beaches, clear water and turtles as opposed to crap beaches and danger in sihanoukville

  12. Has anyone else noticed an increase in the number of god botherers walking the streets of Thailand? You might notice these guys wearing standard white short sleeve shirt, low class tie & pants- not to forget the cheap black shoes ... handing out brochures to thai citizens.

I approached one last night and noticed he tried to snob me off by walking in another direction. I can only assume that he has previously copped abuse from other farang – it couldn’t be that he was intimidated by my good looks and winning personality.

I asked the unsub ‘what religion are you selling?’

    he replied ‘mormon’

I then said ‘is that the religion where the god arrives on earth via a spaceship’

    he replied ‘no’

To put him at ease I said ‘oh sorry that must be Scientology’

    He didn’t answer

To build up further rapport I asked him if he did a normal teaching job at a school during the day resorting to this at nights. He informed me that he did not do a teaching job and that he walked the streets 7 hours a day doing this job .

I was amazed that anyone could devote themselves and naturally asked if he was being paid. He said it was a volunteer position.

I thought I should not lay on any further antipodean charm and decided not to ask him about free flights, accommodation and free food. It’s none of my business after all.

Have you seen many of these young farang in your area of LOS? What sort of visa are these guys on?

    Thanks for your time

    Jack
