We were out to dinner last night. The restaurant we attended was playing loud thai pop music. Also, we could hear the bass (boom boom) / music from the restaurant next door. It was not exactly the most relaxing setting to be in. We have so many restaurant options in our city but all of them play music like this and I find it a wind up to be honest.
Recently during the partial lockdown we visited a restaurant that was open and found we were the only customers. As soon as they saw us walk in they proceed to turn on the music really loud. We said they are welcome to keep it off. They seemed surprised and turned it off. I often have to ask waiters to turn down the music and sure that they think its a strange request.
What is it about Thais and their obsession with noise. Or are they oblivious to the noise?? Dont they understand that some people want to relax in peace and quiet?

Of course men are having sex with ladyboys and in denial but the articles and I'm sure loads others are clear it's being caught with women as well. Men use the ladyboy excuse to not bother using a condom with women
Gross thought. How could one take such a risk??

To answer OPs question he/she should register at any crypto exchange (eg bitkub) and link your bank account. Transfer funds to your bitkub wallet.. Buy bitcoin. Buy a trezor hardware wallet and add the 25th passphrase word. Dont put that 25th word with the other 24 words. Never forget it. Transfer your bitcoin from bitkub to trezor. Wait 5 yrs and sell.

Just write it down. It's what is known as a paper wallet. Don't keep all 24 words in one place as anyone can simply plug those into a new wallet and have access to your funds.
Not if you had previously set up a 25th 'passphrase' word thats not written on that piece of paper with the other 24 words. This is a feature of trezor hardware wallets and highly recommended.

The wife and I have a successful small business in Thailand and I was looking at the 6 monthly income figures because she has to pay tax every 6 months.
Basically, compared to last year we have noticed a two-fold increase in bank deposits because customers are not paying by cash anymore. They all want to use the mobile phone and scan QR codes. Also, I noticed that the number of customers using credit cards is down a lot.
When we opened our business near 3 yrs ago everyone was paying by cash. Obviously this makes it easier to do ones tax return.
But now massive bank transfers have occurred in the past 12 months. The Thais have really embraced this technology. The government must be happy bc effectively this eliminates the black cash market. Obviously there are ways around this if one abides by the 1.5mill limit/500 transaction rule etc on a subsequent bank account.
Have any other business owners noticed this trend?

I have the same problem, so I went and bought a fan, took it to the gym and left it there. The manager understands that anyone can use it, but it's mine. This is the second fan, the first one lasted about 3 years.
and what happens if you arrive at the gym and another customer is using your fan. Do you take it away from them whilst in mid use? ha ha

Nearly everyday I find I'm in the right lane of a 2 or 3 lane busy road and I'm stuck behind a brain dead driver going really slow. I usually proceed to flash high beam and mostly they
move over but sometimes they do not.
A typical situation occurs when a car is driving slow in a right lane because they are going to turn right or do a U turn further up the road- Even though it might be 1 to 2 km away....
I recently renewed my DL again for 5 yrs. I noticed they had the same video as before. Its presented by a slightly overweight/ chubby thai guy with a funny smiling face. Presumably he is acting out the road rules. They clearly need to update that video as I cant believe its the same one as 5 yrs ago. It looks like it was shot 20 yrs ago.
I think its time that we all teach the Thai drivers to drive slow in the left lane only. Please take a stand and flash your high beam at any slow drivers in the right hand lane.
cheers

I confess to knowing very little about cars. I purchased a high end hybid vechile and the rear wheels are driven by the gasoline and the front wheels are the hybrid.
I wanted to know if, generally speaking, driving the car in AWD is safer for controlling the car.
Recently I was driving the car with normal gasoline mode (not hybrid/electric mode). I proceed to overtake and was driving very fast. It was in a split second that the car
didnt feel right. I dont know if I was losing control but I took my foot off the accelerator and I felt I had control of the car again. It is for this reason I'm wondering if it is safer
to drive the car in AWD.
thanks

I read on mainstream press today that financial regulators in Bangkok shut down Bitkub in early Jan after the trading platform faced a series of lengthy service outages.
I didnt know this happened but heard from many members of this forum that they were not accepting any new clients.
I asked them about this recently and the rep told me that they did this bc they cant do KYC on new customers at the moment.
I like bitkub and hope they survive. Its another reason NOT to leave your crypto on any exchange.
cheers

I was at the top government primary school in my city and they were keen to recruit me after telling them that I'm a qualified teacher. This is the school that ALL parents want to send their kids. They have EP program and a Maths/Science program.
They said that due to the covid lockdown, they were finding it hard to recruit foreign teachers to the school. I asked the salary and they told me 30k a month.
I was surprised because I remember a teacher from the school telling me a few yrs ago that they pay 40k a month. I think they noticed I was surprised about the low salary
and then said that after a while the salary can get increased.
Surely its a supply / demand situation and if they are desperate they should just pay the higher salaries from the start? 30k a month is very low and I think its a 10 to 20 year old government salary level.
I would like to earn above 40k a month to satisfy the requirements for permanent residency.
cheers

If you are asking guys on TV about investment in Crypto, then you should not be investing !!!!
Come on... are you for real.
Forums are great for talking about ideas. Take reddit for example. Many people chat on that website asking about crypto.
Dont be so limited in your old school thinking

I have become angrier and less patient. I think it comes down to 2 things:
1. I started having a kid too late in life
2. I cant speak thai

I hear so many bad stories about coinbase. I dont know why anyone would use them. Avoid coinbase at ALL costs. Use a real exchange like Kraken

My friend (In Oz) is with ION....... last time he e-mailed me in January, he said that I was mad not to be in it & that -in time-just writing this e-mail to me he has made $672...... Looked at it yesterday, I think it is trading about $0.0232, I hope he didn't lose to much.
From last November over 1,700 Crypto Coins have collapsed.
How many Cryptocurrencies have failed?
By November 9, 2020, at least 1,730 cryptocurrencies have failed, according to Coinopsy which tracks such failures. That is a significantly large number of dead coins, even when compared to the 7,616 cryptocurrencies that have been in existence so far.
Daft to be buying <deleted> coins. Stick with bitcoin and ethereum....

I did look into this myself actually. I researched it and listened to a few podcasts with the CEOs plugging their ROI from staking the crypto. I had a look at the website and checked out the 'contact us' page. Oh they have offices in London, New york, hong kong. But no addresses. If you need to get in contact you can email them. So what happens if they go bust or the company does a runner. You lose your crypto. Too risky for me....
Better off to buy and hold bitcoin and ethereum and hold on a trezor harware wallet long term. Sell slowly via your thai exchange and fund to your thai bank account as needed. I bet you will make more than 8% as well

Years ago I was a teacher and one day I fed a dog outside my office door. From that moment onwards the dog waited outside the same area for me. I would go home on my motorbike and he would run after me. After a while, my wife agreed to have him at our home.
For many years I've been taking him for run/ fast walk morning and night. He's a funny dog with a great temperament. If he see's a pack of dogs he runs right in there to take them all on. I had him sterilized and he calmed down a lot but still more or less the same mut. He is great with my daughter and part of our family.
If I didnt have him I possibly would be very unfit and 10kilos heavier. I enjoy the exercise with him and yes I do get some looks from the locals when they see me taking my dog for a walk. I don't think I have EVER seen a thai walking their dog. They are all stuck behind the gate all day.
Anyways, if you have the means and know a good street dog that you like I would encourage you to take him home.
cheers

So I hear....But many people told me it's very difficult to sell CC..with Bitcoin being the exception but the many people I know who bought in as long ago as 2014 never made any money and could not sell when the value increased
I think you are misinformed. Anyone who bought in 2014 is sitting on a fortune. Its easy to fund back to fiat

Do you plan to sell it for Fiat currency? I have never met anyone who actually managed to convert crypto currency to real money.
Many people do it all the time in thailand. Bitkub exchange funds directing to a thai bank account. Easy...

Yes, all fine that you set up the exchange in the US and gave your Thai address, but try to set up an exchange in the US from Thailand and you are in for disappointment.
Sorry, my comment above is not well written. I was actually in Thailand sitting at my desk here when I registered with itbit and gave my id and address. They did KYC when I was here as well. Thus, it is possible to open a crypto account whilst being based in Thailand at a US exchange.
