  1. I mentioned above.... when applying for the travel insurance there is absolutely no questions about pre existing conditions. They dont require the information.
  2. i tested/ applied for several travel ins policies - up to the payment page. Non of them ask the question if I have any pre existing conditions. But all of them refer to the matter in the 'exclusions' fine print. The above is the opposite to when I tried to apply for regular health insurance coverage for living in thailand. All policies asked if I had pre existing. I admitted to one insurer and was rejected.
  3. I have heart disease and Im on meds. I worry that if I apply for travel insurance and get rejected due to being honest about my condition then its a pain trying to find a new company. If Im over there and something happens I will not make a claim if its heart related as I know they will investigate and find out its pre existing condition. Therefore should I disclose to the company or not? thanks
  4. contracts in thailand are not worth much. they would be completely ignored by any worker
  5. and if the employee leaves without serving the appropriate notice does he/she have to pay compensation? Happens all the time.... staff quit no notice. painful to say the least
  6. what you say is so true. we are guilty of working our staff long hours 6 days a week. I think we work them too hard and this is the reason why we have high turnover.
  7. Several years ago I arranged a visa for the wife and I to visit Europe. Im out of touch now with the process. We want to fly to Vienna first and then Budapest and return 2 weeks later. Do we simply apply at the Austrian consulate and surely this covers entry to Hungary as well? Actually she wants to do a 3 day course there. Do you agree its unnecessary to mention this or does it help to substantiate the visit? Finally, am I able to complete the whole process and even take her passport to the consulate. Its difficult for her to take time off from the bar. If you have done this recently please assist Many thanks
  8. We have a small business and employ up to 5 workers. They work hard but we pay the well above the norm compared to our competitors. We pay double time if they work on public holidays. They are registered on SS system. We follow labor laws. We give them 500 lunch money per month and overtime from 430pm onwards. Im always buying fruit and cakes for them to eat during the day etc. Despite all this we are finding it tough to keep our workers staying long term. We just had a member of staff say to us a few weeks ago that she wanted to take a week off and see her family. Shes only been with us for 4 months and she agreed no pay this week. So she is off this week and we get a message saying sorry but she will not be coming back. We didnt reply to this line message. Totally unreliable and annoying for us. I dont want to pay her because she hasn't given us any notice. I feel I want to teach her a lesson. What would you do? It will be annoying if she turns up and makes drama demanding her salary. This <deleted> has been happening for several years. Staff quit anytime they want. We learnt not to pay annual bonuses on the 29th dec right before they go away for holidays. The reason is we always have staff that dont come back on the 5th Jan. Now we pay monthly bonuses on the 15th of each month on the proviso that they turn up on time and no casual days off (ie dont turn up for some random reason) We are obviously not employing graduates from Mahidol uni and I understand the mindset of the average thai that has no education. But one would assume most people would be professional enough to respect the boss enough to just give 2 weeks to a month notice. I feel living in this third world mentality here in Thailand is wearing me down. We have a successful business but its completely dependent upon our staff turning up.
  9. I found an old speeding ticket (photo of my car on the hwy) and cant remember if I paid it or not. How can I find out if I have any outstanding fines to pay? A few years ago I remember visiting the dept of cars and someone checked on the computer and confirmed that I had no outstanding fines. I visited them again yesterday and they said they couldnt confirm anything for me. They said I would have to go to the traffic police. Anyone have any ideas about this thanks
  10. We are about to build a new kitchen. I have purchased new oven, dishwasher and electric cooker. Do they all need separate breakers? Or can they be all connected to 1 breaker? If its all within reach, can all 3 devices be plugged into the same power plug (same wire line) to the breaker. Or should it be separated? thanks
  11. If I live in thailand can I still apply and send to my address here? Or did you use an address abroad?
  12. thanks for the info on cryptocards. Im from the Uk and might do the same as you. Is the only reason to stake CRO with them is to get the cashback? Is it just a matter of applying for a free card and using my uk address? Is it that easy. Then just send btc to my wallet linked to my card? Would they be sharing this info with the Inland Revenue in the uk? Could I be getting myself in hot water even if Im not a tax resident of the uk anymore? thanks
  13. Im sorry but I dont understand. Im still learning about this. But are you saying that coinpayments is similar to coinbase? If I look at a VPN company there are several ways to pay. One way is cryptocurrency and theres a <Coinpayments> button there. Theres no coinbase button option. Or are you saying that you use coinbase to buy and sell crypto?
  14. Do you use any of the crypto payment app inside or outside of Thailand. I noticed that ‘coinpayments’ accepts Thai residents. But ‘coingate’ does not. If you use either of these wesbites do you have any positive or negative feedback? What do you use them for exactly? I presume it’s a matter of sending ones bitcoin, for example, to an account wallet and subsequently paying for goods or services on various websites that accept the above systems. Do you know any companies in Thailand that accept 'coinpayments.net' transactions? A read one review stating that their systems can detect a VPN and best not to use one. I cannot find the crypto forum and thus raise this in general cheers
  15. I'm an old school farmer guy (retired) and don't normally go to the doctor unless its serious. My ex misus from the mother country would have forced me to go to ER by now, but my current thai wife says to me don't worry about it... 'its nothing' she says Its possibly been getting bigger over the months. Anyone with experience with this can you tell me if its worth forking out for a doctors fee at a private hospital? thanks
  16. duh... she obviously wants to give you a happy ending. You are clearly a newbe to thailand
  17. If corruption did occur its at least better to have the attorney contract as evidence to the contrary. Not having it means that the only real evidence you might have is a photocopy of the bank draft you gave to the seller.
  18. what nanny state did you grow up in? Must be an ozzie
  19. I might get another thousand subs on my youtube out of this thread...nuff said
  20. I just saw a video by the 'vlogging a dead horse' youtuber. He was doing a walking tour of Soi Buakhao area pointing his video camera inside some bars. On soi pothole one of the grumpy and inebriated bar owners became very angry at the youtuber. He ended up on his backside in the middle of the road- evidently not being able to handle himself. I was surprised that the old fella thought he was working for immigration asking about work permits so many times. The question is... should a youtuber be able to point his/her camera inside a bar or not. I think many of the Thai bar owners would not give a <deleted> but many of the self entitled westerners might have a different opinion..
