  1. We have a tiler here putting new tiles on the walls and floor of our bathroom. Yesterday he finished the white tiles on the walls. Today he is about to finish the black floor tiles. I asked him how long does it take for that concrete under the tiles to dry. He said 3 hours. He said he will come back later today to put the grout in between the gaps on all surfaces. Is that correct. Can he stand on that floor after just 3 hours? thanks
  2. thanks for the info. I didnt know Hoi An was close. I think this is a fine option then for 5 day trip from bkk. we can split half time in da nang and half in hoi an. Do you think thats do-able if we fly into da nang on a wed and out on same sunday? cheers
  3. Ive read Thai passport holders dont need a visa. What about Oz passport. I suspect I do need to get an Evisa. If so what is the official link? Would you recommend going to Da Nang? I have fond memories of Hannoi and cant decide. Looking for interesting 5 days quick trip from Bangkok. Any suggestions? thanks
  4. I belong to the thai SS system. Im interested in your comment. Is there an age requirement there? what does the checkup entail?
  5. i use a HP smart tank 600. Its a blue tooth printer. just connect to wifi and print. no cords plugged into the macbook pro like the olden days. excellent printer.
  6. I live with my Thai wife and child (7 years old) here in thailand. Myself and my child have Australian passports. We were planning to visit oz for a holiday. The THAI airline website is warning us about the 'Digital passport dec' which is a bit confusing. Its saying that ALL passengers need to fill out the Digital Passenger Dec DPD. But then it says fully jabbed oz citizens, PRs and eligible visa holders are exempt from these requirements and do not need to apply for a travel exemption. So do I have to fill it out or not??? My wife and I are fully vaccinated. But my last AZ jab was over 3 months ago. Same for my wife. My daughter has not had any vaccines. https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/covid19/vaccination-testing#content-index-2 The above website says: ''Travel to Australia is only available if an individual is automatically exempt from Australia’s COVID-19 border restrictions or has been granted an individual travel exemption. For some travellers, this depends on your vaccination status. • If you are an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or New Zealand citizen usually resident in Australia, then you are exempt from Australia’s border restrictions and do not need to apply for an individual travel exemption, regardless of your vaccination status.'' ________ So from the above it seems that myself and my child do not have to worry about the vac requirement but we both still have to fill out the DPP. It says: ''Children in the below groups can travel under the same arrangements as vaccinated travellers: • Aged under 12 years;'' _______ Thus it seems that we should not have any issue with boarding our unvaccinated child who has an oz passport and is under the age of 12. My wife has a 3 year visa subclass 600 visa. Does this mean she is exempt from the above? She is fully jabbed but the last booster might have been greater than 3 months ago. Is this an issue? Its all a bit confusing to me... thanks
  7. why does the first post have to be about if he has a WP or not. Quite ridiculous to be honest.

  9. so true what you say about alcohol. years ago I was at a restaurant with my old uncle and my blind aunt. he suddenly slapped her on her back and laughed. I looked at him as if to say <deleted>. Later I found out he was hitting her heaps. He was a chronic pisshead and died due to alcohol abuse. In his younger years he was a good guy- before the addictioon
  10. But isnt it another layer of protection to have an independent contract signed at an attorneys office? In the unlikely event that theres corruption at the land office or whatever.... if someone changes the name from my daughter to someone else. I know its highly unlikely but at least we would have evidence of a contract for sale/buy for the said asset. but when we bought a building 3 yrs ago they made me sign a letter stating that the funds for the purchase didnt come from me. Obviously if I didnt go to the land office then there would be no such letter required. The asset was in my wifes name as well. If my wife holds the bank draft and I stay at the back seating area then maybe they will not question anything as the chanote is going to be in my childs name. Surely my child is going to have to sign something at the land office if the chanote is in her name? so are you saying that the 'house master' is only appointed at the district office not the land office? thanks
  11. You married 2 ozzie gals. ha ha. I met an electrician who was on wife number 4. I asked him why does he do it. He said he hates being single

  13. I'm unsure if I will do it but maybe in the future I was thinking of buying an asset in my childs name. If you have any knowledge on this please answer any of the que below Questions: 1. Do the rules of one land office differ from province to province in relation to this issue? 2. If an attorney prepares a contract, is it solely between my child and the. seller? Can a child sign a contract if under 10 yrs old 3. I assume my wife has to be there at the land office to approve this and sign forms? 4. Should I put my name as designated 'house manager' in the contract. I thought it would be a good idea as then I can show this to the amphur office if need be. 5. If I arrange the bank draft from my money I assume no issues? Ive heard they can make me sign a letter at the land office stating that the money didnt come from me only the wife. Is this correct? i.e. no B.S rules as to where the funds come from the same as buying a condo? 6. Does the tabian bahn go in my childs name? What about the house manager issue? How does this work? 7. Can utility bills be put in my name if Im the 'house manager' Thanks for your opinions on any of this
  14. I dont understand. It might be the way you wrote it. Please clarify why this is clever. It doesnt make sense what you wrote
  15. I sleep with Air con 'Cool' option 26 degree's with 2 small windows open. Im constantly waking up dehydrated with a dry mouth around 2am/ 3am. This never used to happen and thus either an issue with the machine or I have health problem. Anyone else? Do you sleep with A/C or windows open/ fan? During March and April I would close the windows and have A/C on all night. A few years ago I used to just have a strong fan all night and no A/C. But now Im used to having A/C all night. What about you. cheers Jack
