I'm french and I can have a discussion even technical with you in English, Spanish and Portuguese (and Thai) providing you, of course, speak other languages than your English mother tong.... by the way, what is the proficiency in Thai of the 10th of thousands English speaking people living there ???

My story will maybe change the way things work here. I am french and back 2003 was looking for a woman on internet. I met a french one and when I asked her if we could meet for a coffee, she told me it would be difficult because she was living in Thailand.... After a while I came here on holiday visiting Thailand for the first time. I quickly realize she was my better half. She left Thailand to live with me in France, then in Argentina and we decided to retire. Guess where : in Thailand where we are for now 7 years. So in summary, I never ever date any Thai woman and looking at my friends who are with thai wives, I am more than happy with my froggy Thai. So you never know what life can bring to you and where !!!!

When I see Argentina in 3rd place, I can tell you immediately that this tittle is 100% misleading. I have been living 8 years as a retiree in this country and I can tell you it's no fun at all, although it's a wonderful place to visit as a tourist. But living there as a retiree, with the high insecurity, 50% inflation and the cost of things, forget it. By the way, I moved from Argentina to Thailand, still as a retiree, and except the constraints of the immigration,(it's also an ashole in Argentina for 3 years but after you have the permanent residency), I do not regret my choice even if all is not looking rosy.

I hear the vaccination rate is at 90% in Bangkok now ... but what is the double vaccination rate? They don't state that much.
Will the French be allowed to go into restaurants? Didn't they get the Johnson&Johnson vaccine (only 1 jab)? The rules will get sticky going forward ...
Yes Sir, the french people on J&J are considered fully vaccinated and have the green tag available on their phone. I know that while I'm french jabbed with J&J and and I got the Thai certificate ...so see you at the restaurant, I invite you for a beer.....

No, 1 million is representing only the public employees doing nothing all day long, so by definition, unemployed...... or said differently, useless..... and that's maybe a pessimistic figure..... but this is no problem economically, they are paid by tax payers..... The rest is all BS

talking about intelligent way of trying to refrain the propagation in BKK by closing restaurants. I met this morning a friend of mine who owns a restaurant in Pattaya. He told me that over the last week end he had one table with 15 customers and the day after one table of 11, all coming specially by rented vans from BKK to have dinner in Pattaya..... Then the Chonburi governor is surprised to see the numbers going up in this province.... Nuts

Really good to see the Thai government is an equal opportunities employer!
If you clearly have severe mental health issues you are more than welcome in a ministerial position.
You're absolutely right. It's the number one skill of the job description they use for recruitment. BTW you also have to be a general something which also includes the criteria number one

We can maybe read that in a different way. As from October, Thailand will officially be the new province of China..... the one where they put people in quarantine..... think about it ...

"Pattaya to pilot Kho Larn reopening" ............ I didn't know there was a qualified pilot in this city.

Argentina: Good food, wine, and sexy girls.
I just think you have never been living in Argentina. I did for 8 years in Cordoba province. Never again..... specially now... Covid management is a total fiasco, high criminality, interprovincial travelling prohibited and more than 40% inflation. Good food, yes if you're not fed up with asado empanadas milanesas and hamburgesas everywhere. Good wines, yes some are but at ridiculous prices, and the sexy girls .... yes from time to time.... try to find fresh (non frozen) fish or sea food in Cordoba.... good luck. For the rest, except the jesuitic story, the Che museum in Alta Gracia ( just worthless) you will enjoy the corn fields and the desertic Sierras. And if you're not physically assaulted consider yourself as a lucky man.
Paraguay is a nice country I prefer Asuncion 10 times to 1 to Buenos Aires.. suerte
