  1. few explainations for the price rise.

    * Basic pork meet prices went up due to the swine fever. Higher demand and lower offer = price up

    * Shipping costs, specially fresh goods in refrigerated containers have increased also due to lower traffic (Covis stuff)

    * Covid hyiene requirements in french factories also increased production costs. Not only meat based products. Also due to Covid situation, factories productivity is down so higher production costs

    * Lower demand of these products in Thailand means smaller ordered and by consequence higher purchase prices.

    * More products to get rid of due to shelf life and less sales = additional costs to re-introduce into marked prices.

    * Casino's business isn't at it's best right now Would be curious to look at prices evolution in their french stores.

These are the objective reasons of price increase

Now there are some other factors to take in consideration :

A positive one should be the strong baht which should help at least keeping prices stable BUT

    * Less competition and maybe price agreements, never go down

    * Much less turnover in stores so margin increases to protect profit as much as possible. The famous thai sales down prices up

    * As somebody suggested, we don't know about import duties and maybe end of a special agreement

    * When you look at shelves management, I"m not sure the product flow is correctly optimized . More out of stock means  additional costs.

To be entirely honest, although I'm french and love the traditional charcuterie, eating these industial products does't really motivate me

With all the fresh products you find in Thailand and a bit of willpower and efforts, I can easily prepare home made french meals at reasonable costs Bug C can die tomorrow I won't attend fhe funerals...... But I understand some pelple can love these products and buy them..... at the cost they can afford...

    Its quite sad really.

Thousands of lives are ruined each year on Thai roads.

Its going to take years and it will be a monumental task, to drastically reduce the number of road deathes/crashes in Thailand.

    Training? Virtually non existent.

    Road  "sense"? Virtually non existent

Driving dangerously overloaded? Happens all the time.

Children driving motorbikes, with 2, 3 or more on the motorbike? Daily occurence?

Wearing of crash helmets on motorbikes or safety belts in cars?  Everyday occurence.

Driving whilst drunk? Very common , wear an amulet , and "I safe"!  This DOES happen.

Tailgating?  Seems to be a very common  thing.

    U-turns?  Where does one start?!

Stopping at a red light?  Not foreverybody.

"Policing" of roads etc?  Very little, and not effective at all.

People sat in the back of pick ups?  Daily occurence.

    Etc. Etc.

I could go on and on, but Ive got a dentist appointment soon!

Im in no way suggesting its an easy task to achieve ...........in any country.......in Thailand though....it will be a huge task to get the number of deaths on Thai roads down to an "acceptable" level.

In the U.K. for example...drink driving was much more common in the  60s and 70s....it took years and years of action, to get the drink driving level down...Thats just one factor.......Thailand has MANY factors to take into account....God help them..............They certainly need it....surely........ something has to be done to stop or at least lessen the number of crashes/deaths on the Thai roads?

Please pay attention while in the list, you also have the drivers going in emergency to the dentist ????????
