Several services available in the UK from around £99 yr that will process any mail and forward whatever to you however you want it sent. Some are PAYG if the use is little and may be more viable dependent on use.

Are these addresses accepted by the Banks, Pensions office etc?

  2. The problem is worse than described here. I make several payments using my Debit Card (Life Insurance etc.) However my card expired and I waited 2 months for a replacement which never came. On phoning to my Bamk to find out why they tell me that Thailand is on an Embargo List and they cannot send post here. This means that I not only don't get my Debit Card renewals when they expire but I do not get any notifications concerning my account. The only way around it is to get an address in the UK and get someone to forward your mail. This has lead to me missing several important payments because first I must change my address at the Bank for which they require a special form to be filled out. And how do I get this form Oh we post them out to you. Ok post one to me. Sorry we cannot post to Thailand.

  3. If you actually like to taste the coffee and drink it black and without sugar then one coffee that I have found is way above the others. It is a Swedish brand called Gevalia and was, until recently, sold by Ville Market. It is a medium roasted Brazilian Bean and has soft mellow taste which makes you want to drink more. Unfortunately Ville Market stopped selling it and I am searching for another supplier. I have even considered importing it myself or getting someone in Sweden to send me a a few kilos every few months. If you know of another supplier here please please give me his details.

Bro, you need to go back to school and learn some English if you don't know what peeps are....????????????

According to the dictionary it is slang and means friends or acquaintances. firstly why should he learn slang at school? They should be teaching correct English. Secondly, I do not believe that you have so many friends and acquaintances as to cause a problem at immigration.

This is true but it might be disappointingly low and force them to work longer. When people haggle here it should be with humour and haggling is never an excuse to be rude to a vendor.

You can haggle in every country. I have haggled in the UK and most countries in Europe and always got a better price. Bought an expensive HiFi system in Sweden with a 25% discount. In some countries you will be looked down upon with the vendor thinking you are stupid for not haggling. In Guatamala, for example, haggling is the norm but so is getting an early sale. An early sale indicates that the vendor is going to have a good day so will often sell at a loss to get an early sale. So I always went out early to do my shopping there. Haggling is normal everywhere and there is no reason to feel guilty in any way.

Indeed, I've just completed this form myself for my latest income confirmation letter application and inserted my phone number here.

I've left "Relation To Applicant" blank since I'll be paying with my own credit card. I would imagine that you only need to complete this field if you're using someone else's card (as evident from the "Name On Card" entry).

    You are absolutely correct.

The payee is the person making the payment not the person receiving the payment. Therfore of course you enter your own phone number.

As you have stated the relation to applicant is only necessary if you do not use your own card for payment.

The form is in correct english and quite clear in my opinion.

please let smutcakes answer (if he wants to), he understood.

It strikes me you and others are confusing several things::

1 Car Warantee (usually about 5 years) where faulty parts and work to replace them is covered.

    2. Honda Leasing is a Finance company which offers :

         a. Financing of your purchase - Hire Purchase if you like. This is where you buy the car by borrowing from the Leasing Company. Therefore you are responsible for all maintenance costs.

         b. Leasing a car through the Leasing Company. The Leasing company owns the car and is responsible for all maintenance (sometimes includes car insurance) therefore Leasing company pays for all maintenance. You pay for fuel only

Thailand is South East Asian. All part of /bad education . most Thai people look down on Thai woman with a Western man , I find being called falling/foriener racist.

I am sorry if you are offended by the word Farang but I find it a useful word to use sometimes and it really is no more rasist than you saying "All Asians".

But to get back to your statement; I would suggest that Thai women are equally looked down upon in Farangland and are mostly considered to be Immoral Bargirls (prostitutes).  So if this is part of bad education here, as you say, then it follows that it is eqaully part of bad education in Farangland. Nothing to do with SE Asia but to do with bad education

I'd say there is prejudice against mixed marriages and prejudice towards mixed marriages. That's been my experience anyway

I agree with you. My wife is not and has never been a Bargirl but she feels it whenever we travel to Bangkok to arrange a visa for a trip to Europe. We stay overnight in a Hotel in Sukumvit where she is stared at by people who assume she is a Bargirl. She doesnt drink and has never been in a Bar. Even where we live in Isaan she was once asked when she is going back to Pataya by a waitress in a restuarant we went to. Needless to say we never went back there. My wife has only ever been to Pataya once and that was on a two day business conference with her company and I went with her. Even a Tuk tuk driver asked her to be his Mia Noi when I went away. Bloody rude. But as others have said many acquaintances have approached her and asked how they can also find a Farang and can she help them find one.

However, salient point here, the update machine only allows for a maximum of 30 entries in a 30 day period OR updates going back 30 days even if less than 30 entries, so if like us you updated in May '17 and then did it again in February '18 the day before going to Chang Wattana you'll get a shock.

Why don't you use internet banking? I do. Then it is easy. Just go online and print off a statement for the period that you need. My Immigration Office has always accepted these statements

200 baht "administration" fee is if you need to have your photos taken.

Anyhoo.... I was on extension of stay before and seriously it was too much hustle for me as I like to leave on short trips out of Thailand anyway a few times a year. I find that multi-o visa works out to be a better deal in the end for me plus my wife really hates taking a day off work and get drilled at immigration.

I had a photo but it was not accepted. Don't know why.

  12. Previously I had been coming to Thailand with a new Multiple Entry Visa based on Retirement because I just happened to be out of the country when my visa expired. However, last year I was still in Thailand so I obtained an extension of stay which cost 1900 baht. I assumed that this extension of stay would include the same terms as my original multi entry visa. However, in January this year I needed to travel to a ceremony abroad for 10 days. On my leaving the country by plane at Suvarnabhumi airport I was told by immigration that I needed a Re entry permit to return and was shuffled off to a different place to get one at a cost of 1000 baht plus 200 baht admin costs. Total cost 1200 baht. My extension of stay expires in the middle of February when I shall renew it at a cost of 1900 baht. Can anyone explain why I need a re entry permit if I leave Thailand for a short holiday? It strikes me that I may be better off timing my travels for when my extension of stay expires and return with a new Multiple Entry Visa. This would be cheaper if I travel often as is my intention.

  13. I dont understand how you come to such a high cost. I have just completed my visa extension based on retirement using income of 65000 baht per month. Cost for Income Affidavit from the British embassy was £52 (approx 1450 baht) including postage. Printouts from my uk  online account are free. No translation is required as others have pointed out. I then coupled this with a printout from my Thai online Bank Account again no cost. Total cost 2350 baht.

This is nowhere near the 6000 baht you refer to.

  14. Why throw anything recyclable in the rubbish bin. We sort into cardboard boxes in the garage; clear glass, coloured glass, cardboard, paper, aluminium tins, other metal tins, pet bottles, other plastic. Then every couple of months we take it all to the recycle plant and sell it. Don't get much but every little helps as they say at Tesco and it keeps Thailand tidy.

Why invest in a country with a fragile economy run by a militiry wannabe <deleted>?

Stick to safe reliable blue chip shares that pay regular dividends. If you want a list of solid UK shares reply to me.

I assume you are advising to invest in Sterling. Not sure this is a good idea the way sterling is continually falling and looks like it may well continue to fall until Britain has completed Brexit. I would be more inclined to go offshore and use a more stable currency.

My wife has been living over here on and off for well over a decade. She still has no clue what our postcode is nor our home telephone number. She gets me to write letters on her behalf!!

Lazy? Absolutely but she is who she says she is and has lived where she lives for that time. She has little clue about the postcode of our house in Bangkok nor actually the address where we plan to build a house later! Seems to be a perfectly standard thing for many Thais. Not a priority in life!

To know your post code is a bit much. I live in Thailand and I do not know or remember my post code. Whenever I have needed it I look it up
