What's your chill out night/day?
Skeptic7 replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Everyday and night is chill. Some more than others. Walked 3km home on the beach in the rain after a few pints the other night. That was fab. But fine red wine, cheese & crackers (occasionally tea and cookies) with my little Tilac watching a movie is most nights for us...when we're not galavanting around Thailand.???? -
I am totally powerless against it: The Google Machine!
Skeptic7 replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
LOVE Google. Use it for everything. Would be totally lost without it...literally. Google Maps is one of the most valuable tools ever. From Search to Chrome to Chrome Cast to Calendar to Photos to Maps and more, The Big G manages and organizes everything for me easily. ????????????❗ More Google PLEASE❗ -
El Niño effects forecast to get worse from November to January
Skeptic7 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
If nothing else, they certainly are consistent here in contradictions and inaccuracies. The weather forecasts are almost as confusing and conflicting as the government and it's policies. GEEZ. -
Former Thai PM Thaksin’s parole could be as early as February
Skeptic7 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
And until then this corrupt, phony con-man will remain "sick". The minute he's "free" he'll be the jet-setting, party going liar and crook he was the entire 15 years he was a fugitive on the run...and just before returning to Thailand on this sweet pre-arranged deal. Liar, cheater, criminal, thief. -
So how much fluid does the average, healthy adult living in a temperate climate need? The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is: About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men. About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women. https://www.mayoclinic.org › water

Thai PM sees a role for Thaksin when he gets out of jail
Skeptic7 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Of course he does. This was scripted and choreographed months ago. The actors are just playing their parts...not well, but it's working. Corrupt and criminal liars and cheats, the lot of 'em. -
Congrats and good on ya. Just some fond memories then❗ I'm not on the wagon and heading out shortly to blow a bunch of baht on overpriced, but very good, Thai Craft draft pints. Cheers. ????

Thought u were "on the wagon". Or are u just reminiscing❓ ????

Right on. Good plan. I already have substantial funds here and have just this morning transferred another tidy chunk. Will move more before year end if this starts looking worst case and especially if the USD continues gaining against THB. Already easily have 4-5 years of living on what's already here. Then starting when THB funds get low, will only move the bare minimum as needed. No more excess "free" money for Thailand wasting away in a crappy Thai bank.

This is something I thought about also. But since they are supposedly targeting all income, not just foreigners, suspect they will be trying to tax Thais too, even the poor. They have zero problem or issues in further oppressing their citizens. Despite their BS, this is not to narrow wealth inequality...but rather another greedy money grab to fatten the already obese and corrupt coffers/grifters in charge. Very little, if any, will ever trickle down to the poor and needy. The government leaders and elite will further prosper.

I wouldn't relocate even if the worst case scenario plays out. I certainly wouldn't like it and would bash this place even more than already do ????...but it wouldn't alter or affect my lifestyle a whit. Thailand has been my home for more than 2 decades. It's a 75% love/25% hate relationship, but very happy and comfortable here with a great lady, great food, great travel, good health, good weather and good times. I'm staying.

Alcohol is not meant to be ingested into the human body. In general, it's not good for us. That said, I love to drink and do so everyday. Mainly beer, wine, scotch...sometimes all in 1 night❗Rum and/or tequila is good occasionally too. Everyone is a bit different tho. My father is a hardcore drinker. A real Pro. Mass quantities of beer and bourbon for his entire adult life. Gets totally hammered every single day. I can never keep up with him and I'm no lightweight. Haha He just turned 93 last month. ????

Bought a quality king-sized latex topper, with zippered cover, from Lazada a couple years ago. One of the best purchases ever. Two friends were so impressed that they also purchased the same one. There are different depths. I got the 2 inch.

You're giving them way too much credit. They can't even keep track of expats residing at the same address, whom are annually extended (some providing a map!), every 90-day reported, excessive copies of address, in need of countless certicates of residence for every little thing, home visits...and a smartcar❗???? So they can't possibly ever keep track of tens of thousands of ATM transactions by every foreigner...some residents, some not...and then track those transactions back to precisely the correct resident...whom they've already lost track of, despite their endless reporting requirements, countless copies and certificates. They're a joke. Inept and incapable.
