  1. She must be the poster child for the biggest scam of them all, 'The Great Thai Rice Scam'. Just love reading more and more about Thailand, LOS (Land of Scams). Perhaps a new tourist attraction could be to open school to teach the art of scamming much like the Thai cooking schools. Need to market the culture.

    bla bla bla

  2. We see how things are in the UK police have mostly focused on traffik offenses, and at least focus on radical Muslims to bomb the country in the future. thieves, pedophiles, drug smugglere can walk around freely because the government gives priority to safety in traffic over serious matters .. rioters in traffic is treated as murderers would think, getting insanely high fines, whether they really criminals just walk around freely without concern for be taken, this is not just here but in many other European countries too .... welcome to EUROPE .....

Those who decide to stay in Thailand must live with how it is there and accept what Thailand has it, to complain to simply and book a one way ticket to fantastic europe .... as we say here in the uk do not like you our country , we refuse ye to go home to their sharia paradise.

  3. Ahhh, a new crackdown! No week without a new crackdown in Thailand these day.

All the crackdowns involving traffic seem to be in Bangkok, what about a crackdown on unlicenced drivers and underage motorcyclists here up country? There are plenty of them.

what about have focus on real criminal, drug smugglers, thief, pedophile., etc etc....

  4. I wish that Thailand changed the traffic laws to be like in Finland and Switzerland where the fine is based on your salary/income. Highest fine (ever) for speeding in Finland € 120000 and in Switzerland 1 million CHF... you don't even have to pay that kind of money if you kill someone here in Thailand!

So I think that if the fines were higher then people just might start thinking about the others in traffic too and not just about "ME, MYSELF and

BUT most off european countries are communistic, if they do this in finland and switzerland the goverment/police rob the pepole for money, so if you get a huge fine like that, how can you eat without money ???

  5. Nice to see that Thailand is taking care of the real big problems.

Like people don't want to walk 500 meter to cross the street.

Even in overregulated Europe the police usually ignores such terrible offenses like crossing the street on the wrong place.

Here in Oslo it is very common to cross a road without a pedestrian crossing ... we have no rules about it here :)

  6. alot off places they dont have zebra walk over, so the choice is the safer way walk up to bts and down on the other place :)

A very long way to go, indeed! cheesy.gif

at least you don't risk your life when walking in the city, using zebra crossings, etc.

    just my 2 cents

Thailand will beame same as singapore in future, dont chew gum in public, dont walk there, dont smoke there, dont do this, dont do that. haha

  7. Would I be able to do it via a land border run? Or does it have to be by air?

i have been in the same situasion before, take a flight to kuala lumpur from don mueang airport, 1800 bath round trip ticket, the flight go from don mueang about 7pm and arrival kuala lumpur 11pm, the return flight departure back to thailand about 8am next day, only need to wait on airport 9 hours... boring but it works

    Thai lion air-

  8. Why not simply raise taxes on the fags? Tripling the price should encourage people to smoke less.

1st) They're less than 30 baht a pack in Cambodia. How difficult do you think it would be for someone to cross the border with them illegally and sell them here in Thailand as another TV member posted.

2nd) There's the liberty question. Why should the government interfere in any individual person's business? If someone wants to smoke why shouldn't they be allowed to smoke? Why should someone be taxed out of the right and/or ability to smoke? What if they taxed alcohol so high nobody could afford it? what then? salt? soda? refined sugar? red meat? To give a government the ability to tax something so high that nobody can afford it is dangerous and slippery slope.

The reason you should be taxed is to cover the cost of medical care for smoking related diseases and illnesses. Why should non smokers pay for the health care of smokers when everyone knows that smoking is dangerous to your health.

one thing is true the goverment make more money on tax then they loose on smokers

It did not work in Scandinavia with alcohol. At the end of the day almost everyone outside the big cities started to make his own and the industry responded in offering flavourings of Whisky and Rum brands...

that`s right, here in norway we take a day trip to sweden an buy all kind off food, alcohol, and cigarette, because it`s so high tax here in norway.

here in Norway as tobacco price so high that it has led to more smuggling of tobacco, as I think will happen in thailand if they do, it will become more smugglers of cigarettes from Cambodia, Vietnam, Burma and lao ... if people want to smoke then it's best to just let them smoke and do not care
