Which floor are the taxis located at don mueang?

Hello! I have an urgent question for my grandparents who need to get from Don Mueang to Suvarnabhumi Airport. They will land at Don Mueang tomorrow morning from Chiang mai and need to get to Suvarnabhumi as soon as possible. Which area has trust worthy taxis and how much is the fare? Should they agree on price beforehand getting in? I am asking because I have never used a taxi before. Thank you! If there is any other taxi related knowledge I need please let me know~ I greatly appreciate this.

i would love to use powerline in all honesty. but i live in an apartment and im afraid that i will get bad speeds due to the fact that their is a circuit board and there are 40 rooms with 40 meters.

Kinda stupid question, but does anyone here in Thailand use a Wifi Adapter for their desktop? My apartment does not have ethernet so I can't use wire unless I pay to have it installed. Can someone suggest a good wifi adapter that will meet my needs? The onboard wifi adapter I have on my mobo is pretty shit and the connection is spiky. My laptop's wifi on the other hand works fine. 

Last question, does it cost a lot to have a wire run into my room? I think the landlord will let me if I pay and have it arranged. Any experiences? Thank you!

I will be going by private car and my passport only has one entry into Thailand and I have never done a same day border run like this before. I hope I don't get into trouble like Murray Hunter...

Joe, once I get a visa exempt for 30 days in pedang besar, can i get a visa extension later on in Chiang rai? Are visa extensions pretty straightforward?

I will be going into Malaysia for a same day border run and then immediately coming back into Thailand through VISA exempt. My Non O has run out and I will be getting it changed to Non B but I need to wait 2 months before I can apply for Non B with my company. Would it be okay to do a border run for VISA exemption and then get a VISA extension in Chiang Rai or Chiang Mai later on? Is it pretty straightforward as long as I pay and do not overstay?

hey any places you suggest in Malay? Currently Penang is our #1 and then we are thinking about Ipoh or Redang. 

Transportation is good?! Easy to get around? Cuz I really want to visit redang and relax. Any other places like Redang? I dont want to go to Langkawi cuz it seems commercialized. Also Cameron highlands I heard is just worth only 1 night.

sorry meant that my company would arrange one for me in (getting the paperwork ready) Chiang Mai and then I would go to a border in the north to receive it. thank you for making sure though!

The road / bus network is pretty good - you could get a bus to Ipoh and from there catch a bus.

 

I do it on a bike, in one day, you might be able to do it on a scooter - a long trek but very rewarding. I think it's good to have your own transport when you are there. I saw lots of tourists there, most take organized tours but i never saw scooter hire - I could be wrong.

Do you suggest I book hotels now or kind of wing it? I ask because I like taking public transportation buses like the natives instead of moving with tourists. I am thinking about crossing the border into Malaysia and simply grabbing a bus to Cameron HIghlands. ONce there is it easy to find a room?

The OP talks about a border hop to Penang ? You know you don't have to go to Penang .. Just in and out - prolly fine through Padang. I also live in HY, you can do it by lunchtime.

 

If you want to get another O the best place for us to go is Kora Bahru on the East coast of Malaysia. If you want a vacation, collect a visa and then if you have never been, head to the Cameron highlands for a different experience.

I will be getting a Non B in Chiang Mai later on so it's okay if I don't get one now. By the way, the Cameron highlands sound beautiful. Any tips on how to get there from Penang?

Edit: just saw some pictures of the highlands. wow....it looks great because I LOVE hiking. any suggestions on where to stay and the costs of transportation around there?

This will only be a one time thing for this month as i am getting my visa switched but i would like to travel in malaysia before going back into thailand. I will stay in malaysia for a week and then back to thailand and stay in hat yai for one week before going back into malaysia for a real border hop. Will there be any problems? I have never done a border hop before and my passport is clean with only one entry into thailand so far

Thank you evliajero. i will probably stay in malaysia for much longer but I just wanted to make sure if worst comes to worst and I have to do two same day border runs in the span of two weeks. I heard Malaysia is pretty cool!

My Non O visa is about to run out but I want to stay at least 2 more months in Thailand. I am in Hat Yai and would like to do a border run to Penang sometime before the 12th. I will enter Malaysia on the 12th and then re-enter Thailand on the 12th. Then about 2 weeks later, I would like to enter Malaysia again and then re-enter Thailand on the same day to extend my stay in Thailand a bit longer. Is this okay? Do I have to stay in Malaysia at least one night? Do I have to have a flight ticket out of Thailand?

I just got back from my trip to Chiang Khong. I feel as if my duty is to give everyone here a clear warning and a heads up. Disclaimer: I am a Korean citizen who just finished 90 days in Thailand and today I went to Chiang Khong to do a border run in order to receive another 90 days stay in Thailand. Your experiences may vary based on what immigration officer you get.

I had problems getting through the Thai checkpoint. Right off the bat I was questioned about if I was here for a same day border run. I said yes and so they looked intently at my passport as if they were trying to find holes. They didn't find any because it was my first time doing a run like this and I hadn't been in Thailand for over a year from my most recent stay. However, this still was not enough for them and I had to speak with a immigration officer who demanded that I show her a flight ticket out of Thailand. I told her that I didn't have a ticket yet because I truly didn't know if I was leaving in 2 months or the full 3.

Thus, my warning is this: You may need to show proof of a flight ticket if you meet with the wrong immigration officer and want to do same day border run.

It was funny because as I bought a ticket and went around trying to get it printed, I was questioned by many other officers who wanted to help. I told them that the woman officer wanted me to get a flight ticket or else sh wouldn't let me back in. All of them then went into a long tale about how Chiang Khong is getting stricter and how that woman officer is actually more strict that most. Most of the other officers were actually trying to let me go through without a flight ticket but couldn't overstep the demands of the woman officer. It was quite funny but in the end it all worked out.

The best part? I got back into Thailand and the ink wasn't even dry and the officer who let me in didn't even ask about my flight ticket...and he never even knew about the fuss that was made on the departure side. So I asked him if he wanted to me to show him, but instead he just spoke to me in Korean and we had a chat about visiting Korea one day.

I am all ready and have everything packed to go early tomorrow morning to Chiang Khong and cross and then come back the same day. I have never done such a same day border run so I want to ask one last question before I depart.

I will go to Chiang Khong and through thai immigration and then cross the friendship bridge via shuttle. I will then go through Laos immigration on the other side (I pay nothing for both Thai and Lao since I am Korean and will receive visa exempt status). My question is...how soon can I just turn around and go back into Thailand? My friend will be waiting for me on the Thai side with his car so I don't want to keep him waiting. can I just go through Laos Immigration and then just turn around and go back in? Anything special I have to do? Thank you!

I don't need passport photos right? I hope ubonjoe can help me out one more time. Or someone who has done a same day border run in this location.

Just to make sure because in my other post some people told me to go to Tachilek. But to get a 90 day visa exemption I must go to Chiang Khong right? Tachilek does not give out 90 day visa exemptions to koreans who come in and out.

Lao crossing will cost you about 1300, if you cross to Tachilek it's 500 and a lot closer.

Tachilek? Can I get a 90 day visa exemption by entering at Tachilek border? I heard that I cannot and it's better to go to Chiang Khong.
