Must admit it does seem odd that the story changed after he showed up with paperwork as surely they could have pulled up the numberplate on the computer screen to establish the vin number of the vehicle  and the authenticy of the import paperwork.

Oh dear, how gullible can you get. The ONLY way to check if a car is stolen is to look at the numbers on the vehicle, and check for any signs of alteration. Then you look at the numbers in the computer to see if anybody has been playing games.

Had this happened in Australia, she would never have gone to court, an admission by the AFP.   The AFP also said that it is a known fact that many interstate passengers were unwittingly transferring drugs in their baggage interstate. The drugs found in Corby's  boogie board pack was never intended to go to Bali but put in the wrong bag by baggage handlers. The fact is , there would have been no point in taking it to Bali as it could be  bought much cheaper there.

She had no idea it was in her bag until it was opened, and refused to admit that she did, even though given the chance to admit to it and despite the fact that she was facing the death penalty.  The Indo's actually offered her the choice to admit or accept the fact that they she would face the death penalty. She said No! i cannot admit to something that i have not done.

But still there are nasty minded grubs who willingly and happily wish to find her guilty. Indo's i can expect, but not such lowdown characters who call themselves Australian.

Should have been executed for weed? :whistling: I hear that currently there is an issue recruiting for ISIL, I am sure you and the member that 'liked' your post would fit in famously. You could be in your element then. Singing and dancing is legal in most of the world, ISIL will execute you for it, Weed is legal in many parts of the world, and only punished in countries famous for ISIL recruitment drives.  I bet you and your 'like' mate have broken a law in your time.

" Weed is legal in many parts of the world, and only punished in countries famous for ISIL recruitment drives. "

Absolute BS. Possession of even a small amount is a crime in most countries, trying to import 4kg for sale will get you jail in nearly all and executed in quite a few.

Correct kitten. Barlow and Chambers were hanged for trying to export heroin from Malaysia, NOT ganga. Heroin is a on whole different level from dope.

Regardless what the TVF kangaroo court think of Corby the person, the crime she committed and sentence imposed is what we should keep ourselves to commenting on. Myself, I reckon the sentence was way too harsh for a drug that is legalised in some many countries now, including various states in the US.

It is a matter of time before it becomes legal again in Oz.

It doesn't matter where it becomes legal, you would have to be a complete moron to try importing 4kg into a country which carries the death penalty for exactly that.

Very true,...but the life's consequences seem to be a bit off...girl gets life ruined and boy (whom everybody knows did it) needs not take any responsibility whatsoever. Part of a big problem in Thai society and it starts early. I asked one boy about his now disappeared GF and baby (and the other girls in class told me about the baby), he just shrugged and said he was young and it was not his problem because her family was taking care of them.

So, yeah having sex is not what I had a problem with, it's the way the school and society just give the boys a pass with a 'boys will be boys' attitude and the girl gets shunned for the rest of her life and gets to live with Granny in a straw shack. Oh well...just venting...carry on.

Having knowledge of similar circumstances, let me assure you there are consequences. The girl's family would be expecting a considerable financial settlement from his. Not the western style perhaps, but IMHO better than a forced marriage, and similar to child support, albeit lump sum. As for her life being "ruined"..........

My son says special cops do NOT have a phone number for civilians..191 is for basic cops...

I would rather listen to a real Thai special cop than you.....

Have you, or your special son, considered it might be a unit number which happens to be the same as the emergency phone number?

When you use "special" is it a euphemism?

I don't have too, my son is a Special Cop standing beside me, I showed him the OP photo, he said basic police that take care of basic stuff.....Look at cap badge......

I didn't say that the BIB in the photo was special branch, the OP did. I said that 191 referred to special branch rather than the number of BIB involved.

I'll make it easy for you. If you read 455 trans am, would you think they were talking about 455 vehicles?

And you apply for the same jobs as indigenous folks do you?

Funny thing is, they are not still noble stone age savages walking around naked and living " in complete harmony with their environment" (BS). They hold jobs matched to their education level, be that doctor lawyer, mechanic, truckie. My SIL is a heavy machinery operator, mostly bulldozers, in the Hunter Valley mines, and the training was done through Centrelink, and a subsidy paid on his early employment.
