  1. Wow, 18 hrs old and 7 pages long.............boggles the mind. I have the absolute solution to all the posters questions and imagined fears. The Thai Govt should make it a Law that masks are "Required" in all piublic places where more than two people congregate. A fine of 100 baht for Thais, and 1000 baht for Farang - reason is, if I am reading this thread correctly, the Farang here think they are 10 times smarter than Thais so should have to pay 10 times more in fines. I'll go get my popcorn now. Peace
  2. 1. Elect an accomplished foreigner as Airlines CEO 2. He/She should be allowed to bring his/her own staff along with him/her (PC enough??) 3. All current board members need to be retired, or if not tenured, fired. 4. All current support contracts need to be scrutinized - expecially for the Som Chai Cousins that are providing Thai Airways meals. 5. New CEO and Staff be afforded 24/7 personal security from a Foreign Company, with no Thai employees. As surely when these above steps are taken, their lives will be in danger. Peace
  3. This post is only 7 hrs old, and already 4 pages of whiners, social justice keyboard commando's, chairborne scientists "who know better than real scientists" Jeez Louise people, get a life. Okay don't use the trains, don't go to the movies, boxing matches, ice skating rinks, foot masage rooms, stay on your barstools all day, or locked up in your living rooms. Look out your window, and you'll see me walking around masked up...............because "This is Thailand" and to coin Bernard Trink "I don't give a hoot" Peace
  4. Quite frankly, I'd trust the Brazilian Pork over the Chinese Diseased carcases any day of the week..........methinks this was done because a brown envelope fell thru the crack, so they retaliated by saying it was smuggled..........article says there is no agreement between Brazil and Thailand to import pork................I saw a lot of Brazillian Beef in Top's and Central in my days................suspect, bvery suspect. They could have turned it into dog food, once cooked well, no flu. This was pure retaliatioin, nothing less.
  5. As long as you have all your ducks in a row, no issues whatsoever, over 10 years dealing with Immigration Jom Tien and never hjad a problem. Just ensure you have all the required paperwork, you can visit and they will give you a list of what you need, you can fill it out next door (there ar a lot of younger guys/gals for a few baht happy to do it for you while You drink coffee............Dpon't know what they are charghing these days, but for me, it was always worth it. Visa day was always a fun day for me.
  6. The world needs Dollars, Oil, Gold, Other Precious Metals, Diamonds all dealth in $$$. It they were trsded in any other currency, it would be the same...........I still say it has nothing to do with current political administration in office at this point in America...........
  7. Jeez Louise, if you really think that is the reason, don't quit your day job..............nothing to do with presidency, all to do with World Ecomomics........just a matter of supply and demand.......Peace
  8. Amazing, I was walking in a Park yesterday in Hawaii, came across this beauty, have seen many variations and colors, but none like this one, all by her lonesome:
  9. 1997 Tom Yum Gung............ 2022 Ka Pow Kai................??? Xe has the baht pushing 38 for a $$, Can we see 45 by years end?? Read an article where BOT is propping up the baht, dosn't appear to be working. Not complaning, I was in Bangkok in 1997 and bought a lot of gold, gold shops were giving ut 70 baht to the $$, bank around 60. Peace
  10. Another opportunity for President Bidens' imaginary friend to stumple around with on stage, Always trying to shake hands with a ghost.............Stay home Joe, you are needed in Delaware, and you are an embarrasment.
  11. Like Dadfdy, Like Daughter, Like Auntie............but Auntie was much easier on the eyes IMHOP, she looks too muchlike Daddy. Peace
  12. Must be the 'Yank" in me - but I only counted 3 people that recognized Roosters' 'Tongue in Cheek' rhetoric. He is (what do the Brits say??) 'Having you on', as he knew this would elicit a lot of continued rhetorical comments..............as for Up-Country?? Great place to visit, and jumpo off from but I wouldn't want to live there more than half a year or so Peace
  13. I suspect Thailands refusal of entry was more for her safety than anything political. Myanmar's junta would send assasins into Thailand to take care of her, Oh, forgot, they are already there...............Peace
  14. He's being 'detained for 12 days' wouldn't be surprised is he becomes a suicide victim to keep all the above secret Thai cohorts "still a secret" Peace
  15. Right On Rooster!! I did my 'up country' living time back in the seventies, went back in the eighties & nineties, and finally in 2014 for visits.......only thing that has changed is there are more chickens, better roads, and hundreds upon hundreds of resturants all serving the same thing. I always make it back to Bangkok for perspective. Come 2015, I bought a Condo in Jom Tien, 300 yards off beach, quiet, close enough to the crazieness in Pattaya to visit a couple times a month, unless the songtaw makes the wrong turn, I never need to go. The pic of the old train station in Lumpang brings back memories of an old Peace Corps flame I had...........Is that the station with the Big Clock in front that was stopped after WWII and never started again?? My last memory cell get Uthradit and Lumpang mixed up. Keep 'em coming, always makes my Friday mornings go by. Peace
  16. Funny Story, when I lived in Huachuca Mountain region of Arizona, In the Army) we carried brightly colored ropes to surround the campsite, local Indian folks. said rattlesnakes wouldn't cross the rope thinking it was King snake, which eats rattlesnakes...............don't know if it ever worked but spent many a night there and never saw a snake anywhere near my sleeping bag. None of the "smell" techniques work, snakes smell the air with their tongues looking for distinct signatures of prey. Keep the grass short, rat population down and they should leave you alone.
  17. Thats why I fly Business, no grumpy Immigration folks in Fast Track Lane.........Peace
  18. I never said they were bitten, I just reiterated that they 'could be bitten without knowing it'. and No, I don't think a snake bit both of them, maybe a couple two-legged snakes, or drug overdoses..........Peace
  19. Not true, many Snake Ranglers in Thailand and Australia have been bitten and not known it until they started feeling the effects of the venom, especally if its a coral snake, or a Krait that have very small fangs, not treatyed in 4-5 hours you can go into shock and yes, die in your sleep.
  20. 11 years sitting unattended, unmaintained, weather, polution...........Yeah, let's fix it so it can be occupied - what could possibly go wrong..........Oh forgot, they would decorate it every Christmas with lights, so ghues that might qualify maintenance/occupation. Peace
  21. Just hope this is dealt with very very slowly, give her a lot of time in Solitary confinement to reflect on what she has done, then send her out into general population making sure every knows what she did, She won't last long...........No Peace for Her
