I have never understood what motivates a person to walk into a business one time and decide to send a damning report.

If one is happy with the service then say so in your review. If you are not happy then do not return and forget the review.

Google maps is a useful tool but the review option is not.

Deputy National Police Chief Surachate "Big Joke" Hakparn has been charged with the wrongful exercise of duties and accepting bribes by the police.

This follows the discovery of a financial connection between him and an illegal online gambling network through at least 4 mule accounts valued at 300 million baht, as reported by Pol Maj Gen Jaroonkiat Pankaew, deputy commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB). He also said more than half of the 300 million was transferred to other high-ranking officers and used to cover Pol Gen Surachate's daily expenses.

Pol Gen Surachate, along with four other police officers accused of the same offenses, could also face charges of money laundering, according to Pol Maj Gen Jaroonkiat.

How long is a piece of string.

The amount on time you plan for being in Thailand for 2014 is not an issue using visa exempt entries.

Don't follow the "visa bit of hassle where I live" eVisa?

Have you tried the Thai Embassy in London? I found it a nightmare applying online. Gave up and entered Visa Exempt. Then with a local agency obtained a retirement one year visa.

Typical... first do  and than think... water shortages are in sight and drought all over the country because less rainfall, but 3 weeks watersplashing is no problem. and the government has no idea that people outside Thailand  don't even know this event and maybe will be amused if they come for a visit

    Amused or bemused?

They would be #1, if they included those that died, due to road accidents, instead of only counting those that died at the scene, before being put into an ambulance.

This comment has been broadcast repeatedly by many over the last two decades.

When driving licenses are earned through proper efficiency tested on public roads, not via a Test Center system and generous donations we may see an improvement in safety and courtesy on the roads.

  6. Can the TM30 be completed and registered online?

If I am staying in a Province where the nearest IMO is located in another province can my friends submit the form there?

Is there a time limit to submitting a hard copy?

Years ago I just reported my presence at the local Tambon Police Station! I cannot recall a TM30 being mentioned.

Last year my hosts were fined 1600 B for not submitting the form.  when they asked how they would know of the various forms needed by foreigners the response was, "You have to know!"

What is the IQ level required by IMOs when joining the Ministry?

    It's a strange move.

Usually when what's on offer doesn't sell, you lower your prices, right ?

Not in Thailand. I recall a Thai owned and managed bar located opposite attractive competitively priced one. While the latter was busy the former empty decided to raise their prices  when questioned the response was "we are not making any profit we have to increase price".

I retired to Thailand 12 years ago on a retirement visa.  Never had a visit to my home by immigration during that time.  We just got a call from immigration saying they will visit on Thursday to confirm that I live at my reported address.

I married a Thai lady 12 years ago and live in a house and on land that she owns.  She has gone with me for each extension of stay over the years.

Since I retired my income has almost tripled.  Maybe they are suspicious of that.

Also, since the doing away of the income letter I have opted do income rather than money in bank.  The last two extensions I got angry because they did not know what they were doing and it was obvious.  Before you just handed them an income letter.  Now you have to confirm your income and reconcile your disbursing bank in the U.S. to your receiving bank in Thailand. They do not know how to do that.  Maybe this is their way of getting back for my anger the last two visits.

Anyone on retirement visa ever have immigration visit their home afte such a long period of time?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, I had two officers visit my home in SURIN Province some 8 years ago. We had to call the village headman to confirm my good behavior etc.,

They stopped procrastinating when I produced photos of my house during it being built. I have no idea why this whole procedure was necessary as I had been renewing my Retirement Visa annually for the previous 7 years. They left happy with some T bags. I discovered later that both officers were visitors from BKK. They were thirsty!

In a shocking incident, police have issued an arrest warrant for a prominent bank officer in Kalasin province, who allegedly embezzled almost 30 million baht from customers.

Operating within the network of Village Funds (GFs), the officer exploited her role as a bank officer to manipulate account books, fake transactions, and divert loans, causing cumulative losses of nearly 30 million baht, reported Daily News.

The scandal came to light when the GF committee received complaints of delayed disbursements. Residents realized the officer in question was responsible for these discrepancies. She worked at the Savings Bank branch in Kuchinarai district for over a decade, wearing the bank's uniform.

The local police have responded promptly, filing charges against her for embezzlement, document forgery, and other related crimes. The investigative unit is gathering evidence to construct a robust legal argument.

The monetary losses stemming from the fraudulent scheme have surpassed 28 million baht, with projections indicating that the final sum could extend to 30 million baht.

This occurrence has sparked widespread public indignation, prompting the bank's leadership to take decisive measures. They have relocated senior officials from the branch and initiated internal inquiries. Furthermore, the bank's higher-level board has established dedicated committees to confront the situation and provide compensation to those impacted.

This case underscores the crucial significance of upholding honesty and integrity within financial institutions, which is essential for cultivating trust and safeguarding customer interests. With the ongoing investigation, the bank's reputation hangs in the balance, underscoring the stakes involved.
