  1. How many years has it been since we were told that the 90 Day reporting system had become available online?

Perhaps employing one of the Foreign Digital Nomads to redesign the whole process starting with System Definition and User interfaces and implementation may resolve the current problems.

If the IMO and Foreign Office have their own WAN it might be that they have not considered resilience as part of the System Definition prior to implementation.

But we must also consider the fact that more success online means less tea money.!

Generally, Immigration wants to see proof that the 800k baht came from abroad (though most immigration offices will waive that proof if the money has been in the account for a few months). For the first extension, the money must have been in the bank at least two months. Income proof rules for the first extension are supposed to allow only two or three monthly extensions, but many (most?) offices are insisting on income letter from your embassy or money in the bank for a first extension.

As I understand it,the UK Embassy has for many years stopped issuing affirmation of income letters.

Requirement for 800k in bank retirement extension includes account requirements before and until next extension;  the 800k being in account after extension granted and again before next extension and never going below the 400k minimum so any violation of that provision would void extensions of stay.

So if you want to change methods it would be logical you would have to abide by original requirements to have a valid visa extension to extend it again.  Otherwise would have to exit country and start the non immigrant O visa process again.

How does the initial application for a O visa work regarding 800k deposit in bank. Given that one has only just entered the country on a 30 day  Exempt?

I doubt that, I can read Thai and have all the documents, we've been together for 18 years and she is nearly 50, she has no incentive to lie, our main concern is for our sons higher education and his financial well being when I die.

Bored is a state of mind not a physical entity, I've always loved the country life, even in Germany I chose to live in a village instead of Munich despite the longer travelling times, living in London while I was still in the UK was an experience I disliked, even my son's house lies outside of Chiang Mai city. Life in a farming village in Isaan isn't for everyone I'll admit but it suites me.

Me too. I prefer the simple honest rural Ban inhabitants. Almost everyone in the village mucks in together for any occasion. Used by autocracy, bemused by bureaucracy, and conned by, Thai style 'democracy',

If you returned with new visa or visa exempt you would need to file a TM30.

My guess is that you actually entered visa exempt..

    Either way now TM30 necessary.

I am aware of that, albeit after the fact! My post was intended as info not a query.

You returned VisaExempt and hence your previous Permission to stay has been voided and replaced by the current one till 29th May.

As a result of this, according to Thai law the owner/possessor of the place where you are staying is now required to notify local Immigration within 24 hours of you having returned to the premises. The process to do this is by issuing a TM-30 notification.

In practice this '24 hour' is as good as never enforced.  So - if your landlord has not notified your local Imm Office of your return - you can simply do it on his behalf when you apply for a service at your local Imm Office (e.g. application for an extension of stay, or application for a Non Imm O Visa).

When you are renting you would need to bring a copy of the rental agreement, and when possible also a copy of the house-book and a signed front/back copy of the Thai ID-cad owner of the place you are residing.

If you don't have a landlord and are staying in the house owned by your wife, she could simply come with you when you do an application at the local Imm Office, and she would need to show her Thai ID-card and a copy of the house-book.

My partner was fined 1600B in Feb because she did not renew the TM30 after my border run for another Visa. .

IN an effort to boost the price of natural rubber, Agriculture Minister Chalermchai Sri-on said this commodity should be channelled to the production of sex toys and dolls which would draw additional income for the country, Sanook.com said today (Feb. 23).

Chalermchai, who is also the secretary-general of the Democrat Party, said “Made in Thailand” sex toys and dolls produced from the best natural rubber will raise the value of this commodity with these sex products not just being about pornography but “a matter of sexual health.”

In 2021 the global sex toy market was worth 1.3 trillion baht having grown 300 percent since 2016, he said, also estimating that it will increase to 2 trillion baht by 2030.

No, they just want feeding, they have no human attributes.

Since when has it been decided that empathy, neglect, loneliness are only attributable to homo sapiens? I often wish that posters do some research before declaring their views?

yesterday Chuvit passed his corruption dossier to Ransiman, the MP from the Future Forward.

Good timing, as police are stalling investigation into their own at immigration department.

Rangsiman is an outstanding brave politician and democracy activist, who exposed the elephant tickets scandal, human trafficking of rohingha to Malaysia and mass graves, and many more scandals.

He will sure make a good use of this dossier, probably at the nearest censure debate.

That likely to get a few more percent of future forward voters at the general election.

Interesting, how high are the government figures implicated in covering chinese triads in thailand.

How many senators are among them

What about connections with the Russian mafia?

Extension to visa exempt and tourist visa is 30 days.

A border bounce will give you another 45 day stamp and that can be extended by 30 days.

    Regards definitive dates.

That depends on when you exit Thailand on your current extension and of course when you reenter

The new 45 day stamp (visa exempt) starts on entry to Thailand and a 30 day extension would be added to the expiry date of that 45 day stamp.

    Thank you Dr. Jack.

  11. I arrived BKk with a 90 day return flight booked? I was under the impression that arriving on a Tourist visa exemption for 45 days and being able to get a further 45 day extension as this would be within the new March deadline extending visa exemption from 30 to 45 days..

I applied for the extension last week and I received just 30 days at Surin IO.. After querying this at the IO they confirmed that the 45 day rule does not apply to Extensions.

This would mean a border bounce and a further  payment. I presume I can enter again on a visa exempt but what duration would it be and would I be able to obtain another 30 extension.

How many times can I do this?

My airline ticket  allows me to alter my return flight only once for a fee. Hence the need to know definitive dates for appropriate action.

    Anyone advise please!

there is a Primary school across the road from the house i lived in from 2007 to 2021. they were 10-year-olds with younger passengers. sometimes with as many as 5 kids arriving and parking their bikes just out of the school grounds. i have seen the same kids after school going into town and watched Royal Plod stopping them and querying their lack of helmets.

is there a consortium or club that enjoys membership of Plod and Motorbike accessory retailers.
