I've had to turn off watching Trump the great leader addressing his troops. Pass the sick bucket. Does this man ever talk about anything he does as not being the greatest, biggest, most beautiful and never has been done before? Yerp!🤮

Is that why the USA voters returned him to his throne?

BANGKOK - Premchai Karnasuta, the famed construction magnate, finds himself engulfed in legal turmoil once more, as the Criminal Court green-lights arrest warrants for him and 16 others.

Central to this controversy is the dramatic collapse of the 2.1-billion-baht State Audit Office building in Bangkok, a casualty of the 7.7-magnitude earthquake that shook central Myanmar on March 28. This tragic event left 92 dead, nine injured, and four unaccounted for.

The charges, which cast a shadow over Premchai, 71, and his fellow suspects, relate to professional negligence causing death per sections 227 and 238 of the Criminal Code.

Amongst those facing scrutiny are engineers, supervisors, and contractors from a trinity of organisations: design firms such as Forum Architect and Meinhardt Thailand, construction supervisory firms, and the ITD-CREC joint venture boasting notable names like Italian-Thai Development Plc and China Railway No.10 Thailand.

Alarm bells rang for investigators, revealing the building's design as non-compliant with vital safety standards. Structural defects in the core lift shaft coupled with substandard materials like concrete and steel sealed the building's fate.

Leading this meticulous probe, Pol Maj Gen Somkhuan Phuengsap, deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, advocated for these latest judicial moves on Tuesday.

Premchai is no stranger to courtrooms, having been previously sentenced by the Supreme Court in December 2021 to a three-year-two-month prison stint for illegal hunting activities in Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary dating back to February 2018.

Now, his past crimes stand juxtaposed against this new headline-grabbing predicament, revealing the magnitude of his legal woes.

This wave of actions signifies a stern reminder of liability within the construction industry, triggering a closer look at safety protocols and professional integrity. The unfolding drama demands answers, with an emphasis on justice for the lives tragically lost.

As authorities unravel this complex web, the implications could resonate far and wide, warranting a review of the construction industry's safeguarding measures in Bangkok.

A bank-statement has NEVER been accepted in lieu of the cash.

Further context - this was always just a ruse to deny entry to frequent visitors not paying their agents for "easy entry."  When travelers started carrying the cash, the IOs generally stopped asking for this - just put a rejection-stamp in passports saying "didn't have the money," even though it was a lie.

I would have the 20K worth of Cash, regardless - plus proof of accommodation and a flight out within 60-days.

I have never been asked to show proof of funds at BKK.

I have never understood what motivates a person to walk into a business one time and decide to send a damning report.

If one is happy with the service then say so in your review. If you are not happy then do not return and forget the review.

Google maps is a useful tool but the review option is not.

Deputy National Police Chief Surachate "Big Joke" Hakparn has been charged with the wrongful exercise of duties and accepting bribes by the police.

This follows the discovery of a financial connection between him and an illegal online gambling network through at least 4 mule accounts valued at 300 million baht, as reported by Pol Maj Gen Jaroonkiat Pankaew, deputy commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB). He also said more than half of the 300 million was transferred to other high-ranking officers and used to cover Pol Gen Surachate's daily expenses.

Pol Gen Surachate, along with four other police officers accused of the same offenses, could also face charges of money laundering, according to Pol Maj Gen Jaroonkiat.

How long is a piece of string.

The amount on time you plan for being in Thailand for 2014 is not an issue using visa exempt entries.

Don't follow the "visa bit of hassle where I live" eVisa?

Have you tried the Thai Embassy in London? I found it a nightmare applying online. Gave up and entered Visa Exempt. Then with a local agency obtained a retirement one year visa.

Typical... first do  and than think... water shortages are in sight and drought all over the country because less rainfall, but 3 weeks watersplashing is no problem. and the government has no idea that people outside Thailand  don't even know this event and maybe will be amused if they come for a visit

    Amused or bemused?

They would be #1, if they included those that died, due to road accidents, instead of only counting those that died at the scene, before being put into an ambulance.

This comment has been broadcast repeatedly by many over the last two decades.

When driving licenses are earned through proper efficiency tested on public roads, not via a Test Center system and generous donations we may see an improvement in safety and courtesy on the roads.

  9. Can the TM30 be completed and registered online?

If I am staying in a Province where the nearest IMO is located in another province can my friends submit the form there?

Is there a time limit to submitting a hard copy?

Years ago I just reported my presence at the local Tambon Police Station! I cannot recall a TM30 being mentioned.

Last year my hosts were fined 1600 B for not submitting the form.  when they asked how they would know of the various forms needed by foreigners the response was, "You have to know!"

What is the IQ level required by IMOs when joining the Ministry?
