The announcement was reported as coming from Ngor Meng Chruon in Cambodia. Hence my query as to the Thai Govt. , rtesponse.

Does anyone know where I can buy Thai Mangoes in the UK? The ones I see on the UK supermarket shelves look as if they need returning to country of origin.

If the fence can kill an elephant what will it do to any human who touches it.
Shocking!
Electric fences are meant to deter not kill. Whoever installed and maintained the fence needs prosecuting and educating. Which Authority is following this up to secure prosecution and rectification?

I have noticed that the number of deaths reported daily has been increasing. What is being done to focus on the causes and prevention. A private hospital advertising their ability to vaccinate 300 people is akin to swatting a single fly on a dung heap.

Thailand slides down the happiness index
Does this mean Thailand will now be known as the Land of "a hint of a smile"I have just returned to the UK and frankly finding a smile here is like trying to find gold dust at the bottm of the garden. Comparatively Thailand is still LOS.
And long may it remain so despite the hardships that many people are facing.
My concerns are that the impoverished will find or found an organization that will lead to some severe disturbances in the country.
What is the State providing a rural family,?
Meanwhile we see adverts by "International Schools" touting for pupil admissions.
A child progressing from a rural primary school to an urban Secondary School of their choice requires parents with sufficient funds to pay the "ENTRANCE FEE" . No receipt given!

Foreigners can buy freehold condominium units up until 49% of the total condo is owned by foreigners. Other than in tourist resorts like Phuket, Pattaya and Samui, ownership never really gets anywhere close to 49% foreign owned.
- I was referring to adverts related to villa sales not condos..

Have recently seen advertisements of properties for sale in Phuket. The adverts state that a property is freeho;d and foreign owned.
I have always been under the impression since first arriving in Thailand in 2005 that foreigners cannot buy freeholds.
Can anyone explain?

Only ever seen Cambodians working in hotels in Koh Chang. Many own businesses too.
It was ever thus. Nothing has changed.

During my stay at Koh Chang, Trat in 2006/7 we played this game almost every afternoon on Klong Prao beach. At times there were eight of us from a mix of nationalities, none were French. It was a nice light hearted way to spend some active time on the beach between mouthfuls of ice cold refreshments.

Indonesian Authorities are quoted as undertaking investigations into alleged scams where travellers are advised of a positive PCR Test result, and being made to quarantine. The result being manipulated to ensure further hotel occupancy.
Is Thailand immune to this scam? What checks are there to ensure fidelity of the test results?

Perhaps it is a case of tell your mother-in-law to pass the word around!

"Educating Thai drivers about red lights would only be one big waste of time".
A complete overhaul of the proceedures required to obtain a Driving License is what is actually needed in this country.
Driving on a Test Track located at a Test Centre is no qualification to assure ability to participate on public roads. Plod will stop an 11 year old for not wearing a helmet but never known to query License or insurance details.
When a person is unbable to pass even the rudimentary tests within the Test Centre and is still issued with a License upon appropriately filled Thai handshakes why bother with the formalities.
I am surprised that the Motor Insurance Industry has not dealt with this issue themselves.
Sorry, when stating the above I assumed that the the required insurance was appropriately obtained.
I know of a very recent case of someone reversing out of a street parking position backed into another vehicle. Both parties disputed the cause and attended the local plod shop. When the victim stated that the other party had no insurance plod belittled and ignored this.
A ROOT AND BRANCH SHAKE UP OF THE ENTIRE lICENSE PROCEDURE IS REQUIRED.

Seems you obtained a 60 day covid extension.
It's not 30+30.
You were granted a 60 day covid extension with an under consideration period.
Your simply returning for your final stamp.
Some offices are avoiding the return trip and are not doing under consideration period.
In any event just go and get your stamp.
You would already have paid the 1900baht.
Each covid extension (60 days) is 1900baht..
My 60 day extension cost me 3000baht! The rising cost of the effervescent LOS? Or just another IMO who knows there is no appeal against his/her decision?

Plenty of red and white zebras after being attacked by a lion.
The ZEBRA crossing was first introduced in the UK in 1951 then at a later date the stupid Americans adopted the idea but used the wrong colour paint and the Thailand followed suit ????????
If Thailand copies anything stupid from the West it is usually from the US.
in my working life "US" was normally used to mean unserviceable.

After the scare that Richard Barrow in Thailand caused a few years ago regarding visiting immigration offices that turned out to be complete tosh, I wouldn't believe anything that bloke says and writes anymore. I have a non-B (work contract finished) and have no problems with the covid extensions and still stay in non-B status (in case of future employment). On my last extension there were others in the office who couldn't extend their non immigrant visas and were offered covid extensions instead. I guess that's the beauty of my local IO that they care that our foreign funds is spent locally.
Lucky U I wish my IO was as understanding.

Yes, I made the mistake of leving late evening on 26th Sept 2020. had I been prepared to pay the possibility of an overstay fine I would never have had to leave at all.

Once.....the day that you arrive.
After a Visa Exempt entry you can get a 30 day extension from your local IO.
This can be done at least a week in advance of the expiry date of your original entry stamp.
You may be able to book an appointment online to visit your local IO.
The 30 days will run from the date on which your original stamp expires.
Ooh.......I sound like a real "pro" don't I?
However I am in a state of uncertainty as to if I can get a 60 day Covid Extension in advance of the expiry date of my 60 day Tourist Visa, instead of getting an ordinary 30 day extension (in advance etc,) which would be my usual practice.
Expiry date of Tourist Visa entry 5th February.
Covid Visa appointment booked for 24th January (my birthday).
All contributions gratefully received.
Thanks Enoon for your reply. I think you misunderstood my query.
On expiry of current EV and departing Thailand how soon can I return with another EV and how often can I repeat this process?

Yes you can unfreeze your state pension but it does take a few months before it is actioned. I unfroze my pension in 2019 and it took 4 months. I have no idea if the COVID scenario has provided excuses for furthe delays!
