When I requested a Covid extension yesterday, 6th Jan. I was told to come back on the 21st. That was at Pak Cheung, Surin.
Perhaps an announcement is expected on or before that date!

If there has been a change then that's something I'm not aware of.
Did my last extension money in bank last November 2.
Did not provide statements and never have. Nor do I update my bank account. It's sits in draw all year with the 800k +.
CW immigration office.
But the requirements are interpreted differently by Immigration Offices around the country. Something I have complained about in the past on this site.

I have just received an extension of 26 days to my original Exemption 30 day Visa. Instead of having to leave by 8 Jan my exit date is now 4 Feb. I have been advised on this site that a COVID Extension Visa can be given! Can anyone clarify?

I set up my transfers by using Nationwide to pay XE whom I have used on a regular basis for the last 18 months. I state "Living Expenses" as the reason and have never had a problem. Their exchange rates are Mid Market, they do not charge a fee unlike NWide.

I don't think a lot of people will cancel their already bought tickets, since it's not possible to get a refund in the current situation, so he might be correct if 600,000 already had bought their tickets, but it does sound a bit to optimistic.
Most reputable international airlines do offer cancellation or rebooking due to COVID.

Thanks Almer,
What is happening in the North and Issan provinces where many long stay expats reside?

Anyone who has lived in rural areas of Thailand knows that none of these elections are without bribery and corruption. Votes could be bought for as littlle as 200 baht. The winners of these elections are usually from the largest locally extended family or the richest. Vote buying is endemic and a complete culture change is required to alter this situation.
Who are the real winners?

Now with the new variant probably stay here. Cambodia is nice to visit but I wouldn't want to get stuck there. My wife would be pi$$ed.
No mention of the land border at Chong Chom which is south of Surin city! Is this going to be open?

Ubonjoe is correct, I just renewed retirement extension last week and I got a income verification affidavit from the embassy, I used proof of income from CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) and downloaded it. Also you will have to fill in a form to make sure you are allowed to marry. I will attach the Income verification letter that you have to fill out.
Affidavit confirms pension other income 1.pdf 49.91 kB · 5 downloads
I am under the impression that the Aus, Canada and UK Embassies no longer provided affirmation of income letters. This facility was withdrawn when the Thai Government changed the requirement from Affirmation to Confirmation. Has this now been reinstated?

Of course it is enough
I can only dream of having that monthly income.
30,000 is enough for a good life.
Agreed, 30k in a rural settingis enough providing one is happy to purchase local produce and stay clear of all those usual farang hang outs selling imported food or that produced by other farangs locally.
When in Rome etc.,

Don't worry about the 1st vaccination page that you don't have (anymore).
Upload the "EU digital covid certificate" for both (first and second doses) and upload that same QR code twice too.
I have done the same and submitted my application earlier today. Hoping it is accepted by them.

Has anyone posted their experience from booking their reservation to checkout of their AQ hotel in Bangkok.?

The problems getting the pass aren't the only issues.
my daughter is 12 and has had one vaccination as is all that is allowed for 12-15 year olds in UK, however in order to only do 1 day quarantine it seems everyone over 12 years has had to be double vaxed. Not only is that not possible here but the NHS does not issue Covid Certs to 12 year olds so you can't download anything for the application.
How many Family Xmas visitors from countries like the UK is that going to discourage
OK so that appears staying within the blue zone for 7 days, children under 18 travelling with parents are exempt for the vaccination requirement as long as staying in Blue Zone. It seems you arrive BKK, blue zone and you can move around outside in blue zone proving your PCR Thai test has come back negative, but we wanted to go to Ko Chang on day 3, what is unclear is what 'travel restricted in Sandbox Area' for 7 days means. It also says must stay in a SHA+ hotel in blue area for 7 days. So Bangkok is Blue, Ko Chang is Blue, both our hotels are SHA + are we allowed on day 3 to fly from BKK to Trat (blue) and on to Ko Chang or do we have to stay in the same hotel, in the same blue zone for 7 days. Thats going to eat up 7/8 days of our 20, makes it kinda pointless going and if I hadn't paid for the flights and the first SHA+ hotel, tests etc already I would be cancelling, my hope is they realise how much this is going to deter families coming and change the rule
Meanwhile those business owners and staff are desparately waiting for customers. Many have already closed shop permanently.

Why have a 'Pass' at all? Just issue clear instructions to the airlines on what passengers need to have and it'll sort itself. They can check you have everything on arrival (which they will anyway) and make it clear that if you haven't complied, you're going home at the airlines's expense.
They cannot issue clear instructions to their own Ministries or Departments. What makes you think that passing the buck to the airlines solves the problem?
I agree why have a pass at all? The only essential is a COVID Pass obtained during the required period prior to and accepted by the airline when boarding.
As a young un joining the computer industry in 1965 I recall the popular fear that computers would replace humans leaving millions unemployed.
At the time those engaged in the Data Processing Industries, (Information Technology, came into the vocabulary much later) were usually with an above average IQ. Not now.
Unfortunately the proliferation of a little knowledge has enabled many individuals to participate and make careers in IT. This has led to current disasters.
The UK has spent billions since the start of the pandemic. Test and Trace, Covid Pass etc. Try convincing someone that you have received your booster jab but have no proof. I asked for documentation upon receiving the booster and was told none was being provided.
All aboard please for the freight train to LOS. We will arrive someday, smiling and happy/\^.

The entire process is fraught with the errant nature of required data to be supplied in image formats.
When one already has Health Insurance Policy, Airline booking confirmation, AQ Hotel booking confirmation received either as pdf documents or physical mail it is insulting to state that the Thai Pass process is now simple and easy. How many people are familiar with the necessary procedures or have the knowledge to carry out the document conversiion to images.
I am of the opinion that most if not all the bosses in authority that authorised this system have not tried to get a Pass using the current system.
I wonder how many of those who have successfully applied for the Thai Pass were people who already had a familiar knowledge of working with and converting files etc.

They certainly know how to make a simple task difficult. Registering for a Thai Pass requires submission of documents such as Hotel Booking Confirmation, Insurance Policy and more.
These documents when received are usually in text format and comprise more than one page.
But, the Thai pass application only accepts png, jpeg picture format. a three page document ends up with three picture format files. One has to already convert all these documents and hope further questions do not require similar attempts at conversion.
I have witnessed the profusion of IT systems over the last few years and wonder whether Systems Analysts obey the Rule of Customer First when defining the solution!

The list of hotels providing the Test and GO package available on the net was a good start to my day when trying to book a hotel for my arrival at Suvarnabhumi in December. I have tried three hotels on the list. There is no mention of transport being provided to the hotel nor is there any timetable for the PCR Test and the result. The hotel booking terms and conditions omit the provision of this requirement.
The confirmed booking form is required before the Thai Pass QR Code is provided.
I keep the appropriate expletives to myself.????

I want to know if visiting Cambodia first and entering Thailand overland will require the same documents as needed when entering direct from the UK on an international flight.
Being 81 yr young I am having a problem with Health Insurance. Anyone know of an Insurance Company that will provide this. I hope to travel before Xmas.

Not surprised.
Given the ill thought out procedure required.
Book flight, get insured, apply COE, get visa.
Coe not processed earlier than 4 weeks. If refused who is likely to be out of pocket?
Is all the hassle worth it?

Well stated Richard Coleman, I whole heartedly concur,
"Flash my vaccinations at the airport and get on the plan and I'll come November first week".
Also if the Thai Minister of the MFA were to conduct an audit of the efficiency of their overseas embassies we might see better responses from some of them.
