  1. The wet weather programme is the same as the dry weather programme - but wet.

I have a bad feeling about this year. If it starts so seriously now,.... what will happen in August, September and climax October???? vampire.gifvampire.gifvampire.gifguitar.gifguitar.gif

Don't worry Lee. There's plenty of dams to store this rainfall in at the present time. cheesy.gif

You are kidding right????....cheesy.gifcheesy.gifgiggle.gifw00t.gif *Same old method in disguise.... Flood the rest of Thailand deja vu...." Anyone???

Not funny! sad.png . I live in Phatum, and we get the worst. I lost my house and all belongings in 2011, plus my car. I do get your point, by the way. I asked my wife only last week, "What's with all this rainfall at the start of the hot season?" She said, "it's just Thainess." cheesy.gifclap2.gif

  2. Yay........

Wondering also, If it rains during songkran, do they move the festivities indoors?

  3. "sexual violation of family members (3.8 per cent)."

Absolute rubbish! EU and American figures are at 16% average concerning city life - they are worse in rural areas by far.

I wonder; well I don't. Rather, I'd say why hide the truth Thailand? The figures for Southern Asia are astronomical - that's why.

  4. Note to self - don't swerve to hit debris, you might ram another vehicle.

You would swerve to hit debris.. ? Most people swerve not to hit debris biggrin.png

You would think so. That logic does not prevail here. Read the article and you will see that your western attitudes, beliefs, and ways of thinking regarding debris found on the roads in Thailand earn you bonus points if you manage to swerve and hit them head on. Merely grazing them or side swiping them will only earn you a fraction of the points in the driving game that is played here! It certainly feels like an arcade game sometimes when I'm behind the wheel in this magnificent land of enchanted roadways and mysterious traffic rules!

    Mysterious rules? w00t.gif

Get in, point it. Don't look left or right. Simply go as fast as you can, in whatever form of line you like, and get there without looking at anybody else. There's not much mysterious about that. giggle.gif

  5. Anthihistamine overdose very rarely kills, and certainly not the amount in 1 strip. In addition, if affected by such when taking a bath, it is very rare to find a corpse on its side if assumed to have drowned.

    Another great mystery unfolding.

I assume you're a pathologist by trade right ? I'm also fascinated by how many corpse positions you've experienced post drowning !

    Stick to Cleudo chap !

Little do you know! Miss Scarlett.

What are you going on about? Where does it mention Antihistamines?

Nytol is a pretty strong sleeping pill, it is dangerous when taken with alcohol and it sounds like he took a few of them.

    Wake up!

  7. Tell them Prime Minister, I never doubted your brains.

Your mouth is what I doubt sometimes.........but nobody is perfect in this world.

Brains? HE HAS more than one?

He should keep winking... if he has 2 eyes also.

I believe there is another one eyed- gongle that could sack the chief of police also. Unfortunately, they are all as intelligent in being the same as the difference between a one-legged duck.

  8. Last time I renewed my British PP was 3 years ago, and via FPO it took only 2 weeks between sending it via EMS to HK and receiving the original back the same, along with the new one. Never had a problem. However, the topic refers to Thai passports, and my wife got hers within 2 days using the old system. Shame they can't offer the same system regarding visas for legal foreigners who have to go through ages, waiting and speaking with Thai with immigration officers at random, who try to attempt a having to pay extra thousands of Baht to take what they can get, just because they didn't get fish and rice for breakfast!

  9. Good spot, Jaffacakes1.

The photo isn't high enough res to be able to confirm that it's Xanax in the strips on the bed. But it is good enough to see that it is not Nytol.

Xanax likely to cause more problems than Nytol for sure, especially with alcohol.

Was the empty Nytol box left as a 'red herring' I wonder?

10 Xanax supersized with booze would put a Buffalo to sleep.

I guess you slept well last night then?

  10. I have no idea what heroism involves drowning in front of your own kids. A heroic act would include the saviour of the children without giving them a nightmare memory to live with for the rest of their lives.

I don't give into the Thainess of not being able to swim through circumstance of lack of education. There are rivers, lakes, khlongs available everywhere for all to learn to swim, despite a weak education system that does not make it mandatory to swim. Not learning to swim is as real as the Thai 'there's a ghost in the village'.

It's not heroic at all. It is utterly irresponsible.

Yeah he should of swan in that river with a power current to die somewhere more convenient rolleyes.gif

Seriously read your post back, a man sacrifices his life to save that of his family and you have the absolute gall to criticize! You should be utterly ashamed of yourself.

    R.I.P. that man.

    Ashamed of what? The truth?

Read your post back about a power current to die somewhere more conveniently [sic].

How do you know he deliberately left the 'so-called raft' to save his kids. More like he was too <deleted> to hold on, and died because of his own inadequacies. Tell me more about how he was so heroic he pulled his kids to safety in a responsible manner. R.I.P. his death yes, but hero? Far from it!

I think the account from his family that were you know, actually there, is pretty accurate rather than some skeptical idiot on the internet.

You are down talking a man that died saving his family, they are now fatherless and traumatized while you sit feeling all smug with yourself. Give yourself a few more pats on the back for feeling so superior, tell yourself you've earned it.

And pray that you are never in a life threatening situation like that one day (but of course you are probably superman and will save the day right?)

Pray, tell me how you know he died saving them? The first line clearly indicates all were 'clinging'. Do you really think somebody who can't swim has the time to make a rational decision as to whether or not a make-shift 'buoy' has the capacity to hold 2 or 3 person's weights? Get a grip! As for my being superman, you need to get logical.
