    The original report linked on AN forum stated the three officers were a Lt Colonel and two Captains. In this rehash the Captains are now Sergeant Majors. The new National Police Chief was reported as saying the weapon used was a modified BB gun yet later reports say it was a modified blank-firing starting pistol. Just take everything you read from Thai media sources as suspect. Often mistranslation coupled with sloppy journalism.

    If the distribution is cards managed like the issue of free digital TV boxes many Thais married to farangs wont see them. I should have thought the ways and means of actually getting this virtual money to individuals would have been planned before the election pledge was made. If there is a way to fiddle this then kamnan/pooyaibahns will find it.

    Airframes have an ultimate fatigue life which can be controlled to some degree by limiting high-G flight manouvres. Fatigue life might be extended by refurbishment but at high cost making it uneconomical. I suspect the RTAF will, sensibly, plan ahead to procure replacements.

    OK. I was in my Oxfordshire home when I read about the incident on this forum. I immediately took cover under the sofa and rang 999 on my mobile requesing a SWAT team to protect me. Can't be too careful these days. My friend at the RTP HQ Bangkok tells me my hero certificate is in the mail.????
