If you decide on a pick-up and you have kids, go for a 4-door vehicle. It,s much more roomy and comfortable for the back seat drivers. 2-door pick-ups generally have only a 90 degree bench type seat in the back. Very uncomfortable for long journeys.
Fords. great pick-ups and great after sales service. 2.5L is powerful enough

Wise words Limbo.

Hi guys. What,s happn,n

Snake
in Chiang Mai
Scaremongering at it,s best Ilyushin.
I believe that the tiger snake you refer to is indigenous to Australia. If someone had one as a pet and it had escaped then that may explain the presence of a single tiger snake. Poor Murni is saying that he has had many of these snakes in his house so I think it may be some other species. Quite possibly just as venomous.

Thanks Limbo for your prompt action in letting THe good doctor know that we Northern expats are only to happy to help out the new guys up here(even if you only re-iterated what I said already )

Hi there,
I am looking for german or European food.
For example bread, saussages or cheese.
The things from BigC are not what I am really looking for.
And the northern farms variety is mostly too expensive.
Does anybody have a hint for me???
Perhaps there is a shop or spot I dont know yet...
I,m surprised that no one has decided to answer you yet Doctor. I generally eat Thai food myself and western food when my wife( who cooks some excellent western dishes) wants something in return.
Apparently the Tourist Inn guest house at the far end of Wat Jetyod make their own bread. Very tasty too, by all accounts. As for cheese and sausages and the like. Friends who go to Chiang mai are you best chance of obtaining these items if you ask them nicely.
Come on guys. Help the Doctor out if you know where he can get some tasty grub.

I agree with Limbo. I think his name begins with and ends with the same letter. Often seen in Bo,s Place drinking my name.

Has anybody any info on the ferang that was supposedly shot and killed(this is what my wife told me) after going to watch "maleng gwang" fights somewhere on the Bahn Namlat side of the river? Apparently he participated in the gambling also. His body was then dumped in the Mekok somewhere near or from the the Mae Fah Luang bridge.
Fact or fiction? Was he a tourist or was he someone that we know?
Any info welcome.

Hi guys, yes I,m a newbie. I can,t get away with telling you any different as the forum lets you know anyway.
Is there any benefit to registering my legal Thai marriage(affirmation done, translation done, married at the Amphur etc) at the British Embassy? It was mentioned to me by a well known Chiang Rai Farung recently as the right thing to do, even though he hasn,t done it himself yet. He indicated that it would be easier for our spouses to receive pension benefits etc. God forbid anything should happen to us(motosy aksident, nam toooam, assasination etc). Is it worth doing or is my marriage already recognised by the British government to give my wife all the benefits that she should be entitled to.
p.s. I,ve been here for quite a few years and been married for quite a few years also. So I don,t want any Be careful answers as most of you Chiang Rai guys know me (but hopefully not my wife

Probably opened the course to soon as the course is still in need of maturing. It,s a little bit tight also. Maybe requiring the players to Don the apparell of say, an ice hockey player. But as the course matures I,m sure we will all come to enjoy playing there and trying to overcome the challenge that the course so rightly provides. Good luck to Barry nd all concerned

I,m quite partial to the chilli dogs at the BigC myself with an equally delicious jug of either Heineken, Tiger or Leo beer, and a desert of 33 plates of popcorn that come with the jug of your choice. No substitute.
