Rising iron ore prices, Australia’s success in containing the novel coronavirus, global optimism with the advent of successful vaccines, and positive surprises around its economic recovery have fueled the Australian dollar’s rally.

“We do expect a solid recovery in 2021, with global growth forecasts at 5.2 per cent – led by the US and China,” Stephen Halmarick, economist at Commonwealth Bank of Australia said in a note.

I think all that is correct.. plus.. The huge stimulus in America is driving down bond rates ... bond rates in America are near 0 and expected to stay there for the foreseeable future.. .... Prime interest rate in America at the moment.. 3.25%.. Australia 5.24.. this difference makes Australia a better place to park money..

Might depend where you are from.. for Australia I was able to send in my divorce document in by post.. and got the Freedom to Marry by return mail..  Also.. because of Covid I was able to send in the translation to the Legalization Office by mail.. normally it has to be in person. I did turn out to be easier than a trip to Bangkok for us.. but.. it wasn't easy...  The translation into Thai is a legal document and has to be exactly as they want it.  No problem if you are using an agent.. they do this all the time and know how to present it.  The people I used to do our translation were not up to speed with the requirements.. it took 4 or 5 attempts to get it right. We would send in a translation and they would send it back with corrections needed... We finally got it right and received the certified document needed which we took to the Ampur.. Whoever does the translation must have the proper seals to  certify their translation.

    This looks like good news...

Okay, give'em nuthin'. That'll show'em. Make them spend 3000 baht to get coupons for 3000 more. That's the trick. Country is hoarding its cash and you seem to think it's a good idea.

  4. I don't think it matters what they plan.. post Covid the market will be shaped by the 'new normal'.. vaccinations, pre flight testing.. the cost of seats.. each countries departure & entry requirements and their level of infection and recovery... many unknowns.. Also how quickly people's economic situation recovers from the disruption to their lives.. No matter how much governments or passengers would like things to return to the normal of 2019 ... it ain't going to happen..

It's easy to not have cases when you don't test people.

You must be living under a rock.  They have been testing... .all returnees.. no leak into communities... also testing prisons and all going into them.. also hospital workers.. anyone they catch coming over the border illegally .. now rolling out tests for over 10,000 very quickly..   They quickly got the outbreak in Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai under control very quickly with testing.. To bad would have been great to know what he and trump had cooked up with the russans it’s also another slap in the face of the American judicial system imo sad but not unexpected

This may not be the end of it... a Pardon if accepted is an admission of guilt.. if Flynn were called to give evidence at any Trump enquire he would not be able to invoke the 5th amendment.. he is already guilty.. he would have to answer questions  or try to lie his way out of it.. Trump is relying on him being a good liar.. the other option for Flynn in such circumstances would to throw Trump under the bus and try to cut a plea deal for a shorter prison sentence.. how much does Flynn love Trump?

i think the family of the deceased need to be contacted , before the paper will be issued by embassy to take to the morgue to release the body.

Yes.. that is the problem for the wife.. A few years ago a guy I knew was killed.. It took 10 days or 2 weeks for the body to be released.  Traumatic for the poor woman.. Best to get it sorted to make things easier for her.

I believe that to be true. But there prices are usually 20% higher than proper Samsung, Oppo, Jaymart, Banana shops which are usually close by. Unless they offer terms. 10% down and 1000 baht a month for the rest of your life.

And they don't tend to sell accessories anymore. Usually shops in the mall specializes in only phone accessories and very cheap. I don't get it

I have no idea how it works.. rent must be high in the malls.. I had a glass screen replaced on my phone recently at one of the stalls.. 100 Bt..In Australia they would have told me to throw it away and buy a new one.. My wife said it should have been 8o Bt..!  I can't see how they can pay the rent and eat..

    Hello

I need to legalise a few documents @ Thai Ministry of Foreign Affair and want to send them by mail. What do I need to consider?

    - Do I have to write a formal letter in Thai? Are there existing templates of letters in Thai?

    - Anything else I need to consider?

    - Is it maybe better to consider a legalisation service bureau?

Ubobjoe has it right.   We went through the process awhile ago.. It works ok by mail but you have to have the translation 'perfect'.. it took us about 4 or 5 tries to get it right..  There is a English teaching shop here that does translations and has the proper stamps.  It is a legal document and must be perfectly presented. The agents in Bangkok know the ropes and can do it in one go. As I say our guy here took a number of times before it was acceptable.. but.. much better for us than making a trip to Bangkok.  They understand and write English at the office.. no problem.
