Masters Tour of CM was announced for Oct 21-24 this year but since it is always Fri - Mon, it will probably be Oct 20-23. They're planning on changing Stage 2 from a point to point road race back to wicked hard circuit race. The course is one of my two favorite circuit races I've ever done in 30+ ears of racing. Unfortunately it's been closed to bike racing for several years. I think it's wishful thinking that they'll be able to hold the race there. I'm usually not in CM then but if they get that course back I'll make sure I plan my travel accordingly.
Too bad you can't make the Doi Inthanon race. I have several friends interested in buying an entry so they can do the event legitimately. Let me know if you're interested in selling your spot.
Happy to sell it on, do they allow you to change the registration though? Otherwise they'll have to pretend to be me! -
Moonoi, 1,100 meters qualifies as a hard day. But if you really want to do some climbing, come up to Chiang Mai and join us for a few rides. There's a weekly ride of 1200 meters of climbing, and we usually schedule a second day with anywhere from 1450 - 2500 meters of climbing. Leave the deep dish wheels home though.
I signed up to do the Inthanon Challenge in Feb, but due to work commitments won't be able to do it. But I plan to do the Masters Tour of Chiangmai later this year (Sept I think). -
To see the year out, decided to do some serious elevation (at least for me) 1106 meters of climbing.....can you guess where I went?

Merry Christmas, here's a couple of shots from the WTJ Rayong race weekend before last, lovely roads!

You could almost rest a cup of coffee and a cake on it too [emoji4]

Is the aerodynamic wing handlebar to give you more downforce on the front wheel?
I actually have no idea what it's for, it is alledgedly more aerodynamic, but pretty sure my fat ass has more of an impact than a wing handlebar. Looks cool though

I finally have some nice pics to share, I sold my TT bike and bought an aluminium bike for racing, as I'm getting in to that as I lose weight and get fitter, I don't want to crash the Colnago ;-)
So I took the new bike to Rayong with me for a first ride, Saturday was a bit wet and a 65km ride along the coast, Sunday was lovely and a shorter 25km where I went in search of a hill, which I found with an average gradient of 10% over 5km followed by a fast blast along the beach front.

Does seem like an over the top and silly way to "protect" your investment.
Part of the the reason I have the bike I have is because I love the way it looks, and it gets me out on my bike more.
Also if you decide later that you want to change it and sell it on, you've wiped a massive amount off the value of the bike, if indeed you could sell such a defaced bike.

So I had to find some better views to compete :-) From this morning....
Just left my house and headed out east for about an hour before returning via a different route, about 73km and 2.5 hours of riding including stopping for much needed refreshments [emoji6]

Had a quick ride this morning not far from home, still doesn't look as nice as your roads villagefarang ;-)

One thing I don’t like about road bikes, is not being able to walk a short ways to take a better photo. Even stepping off the road for a pee can leave the bottom of the bike shoe clogged and unable to clip in. Then you have to find a small stick and start digging the crap out of the spaces.
Which cleats are you using? If shimano, or speedplay, they have little covers that fit in your jersey that you can slide on to prevent this problem.

Everyone loves having a go at a dirty back road :-)
I think I prefer the look of the tarmac.... No wonder you manage longer distances on the road bike!I definitely dont live in the city. Most of my mountain bike riding was on dirt farmer trails through rice fields and in the hills where I live. When it was dry, it was very dusty. When it rained some trails had standing water and the clay in some areas would stick to everything.
....
Edit: I've just re commissioned my MTB, and intend to fit it out with basket and carriers for running errands, but I'll also have a go at some dirty back-road (can I say that on the internet?) cycling along the pylon reserves
I'll get my coat.....

It is indeed boring, I use it for training rides though where I don't have to worry about traffic getting in the way. The strong winds also make it very challenging as it's very exposed. I normally go early morning or late afternoon/early evening.
Not so hard to ride to, but there is a big car park as well if you prefer to drive there.

Ever so slightly jealous of the good roads you have to ride!
Best I could do was circle the airport in Bangkok 3 times!
A view from the Skylane....

Here's my latest ride and me riding it ;-)
Nice pics, where did you buy and how much?
Got it from Bike Zone in Bangkok, they had a stand at the Bangsaen Triathlon offering a big discount, came out to 79k for the P2, plus 3.5k for the pedals (Ultegra) and 25k for the wheelset (Novatec R5) that I got from OKK Bike. So for same build, will set you back 107.5k
Nothing wrong with the wheels that came with it, I just wanted some nice carbon ones to look more pro ;-)

Most people using Macs in Thailand have installed bootcamp and run Windows on it for "ease of use".
Most of the iStudio stores do run basic workshop courses around once a month, they normally post a schedule of what they are offering in the store.

I actually felt cold on the bike for this first time ever as well, you can see how nice and cool it is along with when I had a tailwind below
The max temp is from inside the house when I started my Garmin.

Lovely and cool here in Bangkok today, but the wind was the strongest I've ever experienced, helped set some new PR's when it was behind me, but wow, really tough when it became a headwind!

Can you guys stop teasing me about lovely cool winter weather!!!! [emoji846]

Me too!It has been way too cold to ride lately but the sun came out today so maybe soon. I really need a ride.
This afternoon the sun came out, tomorrow the mountain beckons.

I've never had a problem with sweaty hands slipping off the hoods, wear some gloves if it concerns you that much.
Not sure if you can swap the stems between your bikes, depends if they have the same size steerer tube, but worth a try.
I'll leave you with a picture of one of my bikes, very comfy even though it might not look it. Frame was too small, but I needed a bike temporarily while I waited for my proper one
Not a bad temporary bike Moonoi!
You're forgiven for not slamming that stem - the seatpost extension more than makes up for it.
But, I think that's twice you've posted a photo without the chain on the BIG Dog. Some of us are paying attention!!! Sur la Plaque and all that...
I also failed to match the bar tape to the saddle, so a fair number of errors ;-)

Zero offset seatpost with a -13 degree 130mm stem to get the right fit. Didn't want to cut the steerer as I was (and did) sell it a couple of months later once the new bike came in.
You're right that looks really uncomfortable[emoji30]I've never had a problem with sweaty hands slipping off the hoods, wear some gloves if it concerns you that much.

For me I prefer to have a bit more weight through my arms, as too upright a position gives me a backache.....the opposite problem to most people!

They just announced that can sell entries and change the registration details until the 25th Jan, so if you know anyone that wants an entry, mine is up for grabs!
