He is a man, always has been and always will be, its called Chromosomes he has XY that makes him a male. I have no problem with people who think that they were born with the wrong body, and would call them she if they want, however it is stupid to call a gender they. Minority rule on the way. I was born in 1946, but i want everyone to know that i am 35, OK?

You seem to have a morbid interest in everything Phuket- ever thought of visiting so you can comment firsthand?
I drove past this headed north at around 9am and the load was still on the vehicle, albeit shifted slightly. You can see from the photo as well that the load is not scattered across the road. A crane was in position, getting ready to winch the vehicle over. Returning at just after 11 the road seemed to be partly open as the detour signs had been removed but traffic was backed up trying to squeeze 3 lanes into two. It was easier to go down to the Airport and take the back roads south,
Nowt lahk local knowledge, eh!
I think Colin was having a play on words in his particular comment !!

At last a great story, and a wonderful way to change people's lives and help them. A gold medal for that man. Best regards.

I did my retirement extension this week, very nice helpful female officer, was genuinely interested in why i came to live in Nakhon Phanom. I had a lovely conversation, and she noticed i was not well (wheelchair) and said about my wife just coming in and they would come to me if i needed them too. All previous dealings with Phuket, but what a breath of fresh air up here, in and out in 20 minutes, looking forward to going for my 90 report.
NP a great office to deal with.

Perhaps you can educate us.
"One can get "accident insurance" at the local bank for less than 2000 Bt."
I get 1m Baht accident insurance through Bangkok Insurance costs me about 3500 Baht per year and i am 73. Had to claim a couple of years ago as i fell on wet tiles and severed my ear, operation cost 85,000 Baht. Any other insurance i cannot get now as have too many conditions.

AS i understand it, Khan was originally classed as never to be released unless deemed no longer a threat but this condition was later lifted after an appeal.
I would like to know who allowed the appeal? who paid for the appeal? how much did the appeal cost the taxpayer. Just goes to show our "betters" are totally out of touch with the harsh reality of how things ought to be.
For the cost of keeping this filth alive, i would have rather spent the money on say children's healthcare.

Couldn't the residents join together, a few 100 Baht each, to solve the issue? Surely wouldn't be that difficult to find someone to remove the trash for cash. Where they eventually will deposit the garbage is another issue...
Please stop using common sense, it will get you nowhere

If you get a maid/driver and she drives and cleans ok then don't worry about her spare time, at least you are providing a living to someone

2nd calling us falang is, in my opinion, no less derogatory than cabbage man. The word falang to many may not seem derogatory to many here, but it is not the word that matters but rather the way they irk when they say it. I am amazed how often I sit down somewhere and no one wants to sit next to me because I am falang. Or even worse, they get up and move somewhere else. Before anyone says it... I shower everyday twice a day and I use roll on, contrary to many Thais.
Thais are just uneducated about ethics. Kids walk up to us and say "fat" to us and the parents find it cute.
So what do you expect when the police call a Korean "cabbage man"?
I went to buy some deodorant last week, they asked me if i wanted the roll on ball type, i said no it's for underneath my arms.

Let nobody kid themselves, it's always about money but not necessarily only money. Let this be a warning for those looking for a Thai darling.
Are you for real? very sad posts.

The Mekong in Nakhon Phanom district has at times over the last 40 plus years dried up and allowed people to walk over to Laos so it is not that unusual and not as a result of any Chinese dams.

The same, same on here. Bad, bad farangs out but I'm good, good, good..... Really First overstay is not the crime of the century “Stupid" yes. Could there be more to the dive instructors story, most likely. Any dive professional back when I was an instructor on Kow Tow back in 2003/4 if I remember correctly will know what devastating damage a dodgie greedy thai visa agentcan do and will also know that work permits in the diving industry are as rare as rocking horse dodo so don't be twisted and nasty to people who do so much for thai tourism and as for 22 days overstay OMG = public humiliation. Why not bring the Stocks to all immigration offices where twisted and bitter farangs can purchase rotten tomatoes to throw and geer at any farang arrested with smugness and righteousness. I wonder how many of the righteous on here use agents to deal with their visas on here? Just remember you to are criminals "you are required to go to immigration in person".
Were they both in breach of the law/rules? If yes, then sorry but no contest to your argument.

Get over it... She has diplomatic immunity period. It does not mean that she not has insurance or is evading justice. Nor is she declining being responsible for the tragic accident. Justice is there to determine what happened and conclude how much in damages need to be payed.
This was an accident, not a mayor crime...
What a stupid response, hope you do not loose someone you love, she is a piece of S*** to run away.
