  1. This is the junction.... from the direction the SUV was travelling.... the SUV didn't yield and was likely travelling at speed, IF another vehicle were travelling from the other direction (from the left in the pic below) the SUV would have hit them too. The SUV has to yield for anything already on the junction, clearly it didn't - SUV driver 100% at fault here IMO. This is the junction from the direction the disabled-scooter was travelling. There is no pavement, no other option but to ride on the road, riding on the road (with a disability scooter), cycling along the road or walking along the road is not illegal in this case... It seems quite clear that the SUV driver was not going to stop for anything and was prepared to hit anything in his way, or stupid enough not to think anything would get in his way... (*clearly as stupid and dangerous as some of the posters on this thread).
  2. In much the same manner anyone walking down the road side would cross the road. As you pointed out, his disability-scooter is 'tediously' slow... so it would have taken time to cross the junction... When you look at where in the junction the 'disability-scooter' was hit, it becomes clear that it was already in the middle of the junction when the SUV entered the junction. IMO - this is a clear case on an unobservant and speeding SUV driver who showed no intention of slowing at junction at which (given the road markings) it was his position (the SUV driver) to yeild.
  3. He most likely had head injuries... So would a pedestrian or anyone else crossing the road... As per the photo posted by 'THEN' there is a fixed white line that would suggest the SUV had to yield right of way. The location of impact suggest the SUV travelled into the junction while the 3 wheeled disability vehile was already crossing. i.e. The SUV was travelling at speed with no intention to stop.... it would have hit any other motorcycle or anyone else crossing the junction because he was 'not prepared to stop' or didn't consider he needed to slow down at a crossing.
  4. Speed... the scooter.... crossing the road at a junction... just as pedestrians would... They don't go very fast - the three wheeled mobility scooter would have been in the middle of the junction before the SUV entered... The SUV just wiped him out....
  5. A true testament to your intellect !!!...
  6. Was there any pavement / side walk ???.... Its a mobility scooter so he was taking the only available 'route or path'... the same as a pedestrian would have to do.
  7. The idiocy of this response is astonishing even for a poster of Goats calibre.... This was a three wheeled mobility scooter.... Just when I think rock bottom has been achieved with a statements of galactic cokwomblery we'll have this golden droplet of cerebral flatulence... What's next ???.... pedestrian hit crossing the road should have been wearing a helmet, no sympathy... ???
  8. A lot of people assume this means 'just driving licence'... but the Op is clear - licence for Car and Motorcycle. It has always been law that rental companies must see a valid Driving Licence or Valid Motorcycle Licence when renting out a car or motorcycle. The issue of course is that motorcycle rental companies rarely ask for this as they don't care, they just want the money and any lack of insurance is also irrelevant as they'll charge the customer directly for any damage - i.e. they side step any responsibility for renting out motorcycles to tourists without a valid motorcycle licence. The Police ??... Well, they are just lazy - they are not going to visit motorcycle rental companies when a tourist is caught renting a motorcycle without a license - thats way too much effort, its easier to simply charge the tourist 500 baht. It actually appears as though its preferred that the rental companies rent out the motorcycles to tourists without a licence as the BiB have greater opportunity to fine them at check-points. This announcement - that Rental Companies area also accountable when renting out vehicles to those without a licence has been made before..... its been made numerous times. Its as if those officials who make the announcement believe the mere announcement itself is sufficient to effect change...
  9. Members who post comments like the final paragraph above should be banned for life. 100% Agree... no idea what he's written though as he's one of just two users I have on my ignore list after lacking the intelligence to ever post anything of any intelligence, usually abusive.... an utter womble.
  10. Given the measure of your socio-phonetics it could be suggested that you are not best placed to comment on the quality education !!!
  11. No experience of.... But I'm also considering doing something similar..... part of the reason is UK Uni fees... they need to be domiciled in the UK for 3 years to be eligible for UK Uni fees... and the 3 years is awkward as it doesn't fit the two year A-Levels interval. i.e. Fees to be a medical student are about £45,000 per year for overseas students / for a UK student its about £9,250 So.. we are considering moving our Son at the Start of GCSE's to a private school... then moving on to A-Levels there. (The cost of a decent private school in the UK is similar to International School here). Its a difficult balancing act to play out. The only input I have for your specific case if to ensure they are doing British Curriculum rather than IB if you are planning a move... as schools which do IB in the UK are quite limited.
  12. Last time I renewed my licenses at the DLT (Area 3 Bangkok) it was busy... ..... after doing the in-class tests (colour blindness, reaction etc) and watching the video (This was pre-covid) the waiting area to actuall get the licence was very busy... no seating left etc... ... So, I took my queue number and went for massage, came back an hour or so later and my queue had long since passed, I showed the DLT staff my ticket and they placed me back at the front - next in line and sorted... Start to finish took about 4 hours. On other occasions I've been in and out in under 2 hours (its the video that takes up most of the time). ---------- It was reported that after Covid there was a massive backlog... DLT had to put a booking system in place etc... Some reports here state that agents helped to jump the queue for booking and also sped things up at the extremely busy DLT office - those agents were also charging in the region of 3000 baht if I'm not mistaken.... I can see how some thought agents were useful at that time.
  13. Thats hilarious... paying someone 300 baht to watch the video on your behalf - must make perfect logic somewhere in Thailand. Next time, I'll get my Son to watch the Online DLT video for me.... BTW: What did you do while the agent watched the video ?? Usually the renewal goes like this: 1) Document check 2) In-class tests (Colour Blindness, Peripheral vision, proximity and reaction test) 3) Video (about 50 mins) 4) Pay for the licence 5) Get photo take and licence printing
  14. Yep... Went out there with the socket set and multimeter... ready to check the Battery.... Didn't even get that far... Motorbike on the centre-stand... only then I noticed the side stand was also down.... Flipped up the side stand and Bingo... School boy error... The bike has been stationary since December !!!.... (last time I tried to start the bike the side stand was down and it wouldn't start !!) Trickle-Chargers are Awesome !!!!... I've no idea what the Ops issue is !!!
  15. I'm not sure if you think you are a Lawyer, or just placing your case down in the Blue Oyster and expecting a dance...
  16. She works for Chang ???... Or she works for Chang ?????
  17. I went here, and noted that it is for renewal, and since this is my first time, I think I will need to watch the video at DLT (or maybe at agent school). Its possible, but don't get hung up on terminology here - they could mean 'renewing' an overseas Licence for a Thai one... Its not a big effort to complete the e-learning and then go to the DLT.
  18. I completely agreed that this is a concern the majority of people have..... this concern has being around for decades. Why has nothing been done about it ???.... Why have authorities not stepped up to control the burning ? Baiting and gaslighting - a fundamentally flawed argument missing the point - no one wants this... But one individual guy is not the blame or the solution.... Do you think all the burning will now stop because this guy killed himself burning his fields ??... Or course not.... The issue will exist year after year until the ASEAN nations in an international agreement sort this out.... Its not down to individual farmers... its down to the authorities to enforce these issues. Without these authorities wed have people driving the wrong way down one way streets, not wearing helmets, drink driving, filling the flat-beds of pickups with people, importing pork and chicken preserved in formaldehyde..... erm... er...
  19. Address the questions to the people like the 'children'... seems I already am.... The need for a government who'll act and push a police force to act you mean ???... Unsurprisingly some people (and foriegners) have no understanding of the situation at all... as written earlier, their views are dumbed down and simplified into binary bite sized pieces because their intellect cannot handle bigger chunks !
  20. Apparently... He's no English, cos the UK Embassy will not do, but not English - so... not British then - so I've no idea why he even bothered mentioning that.... Impossible to offer assistance to someone incapable of articulating facts....
  21. Making this about me now... as my Bike is attached to a CTEK 5.0... But, the bike wont start.... I thought it was the battery not being up to 'muster'... however, the photo of the trickle-charger below indicates that an issue I initially thought was the battery is in-fact, something else.... The power comes on, but the engine will not turn over and start. I'm going to have to go and have a 'fettle' and find out why...
  22. Can you explain your first statement? Forget the rest of it because upon opening a comment like this the first thing that jumps out is your condescending and patronising tone. I expressed an opinion and respectfully and I always imagined you to be one of the posters who doesn't revert to behaving in this way. Opinion changed 100pc. Thats part of the problem with forums - its difficult to get the 'intended tone across'.... there's no intent whatsoever to appear condesending or patronizing - apologies if my comments appeared that way. I meant that as you are a Westerner and educated you will see a bigger picture regarding the impact of burning and pollution whereas the farmer, who is unlikely to have more than the most basic of village education has an extremely different outlook - his only concern is getting food on the table, he won't see the bigger picture and is perhaps completely unaware of the harm such pollution causes... Its entirely possible he's not even aware that burning is illegal.... the ban on burning is certainly not enforced by the Police (or Authorities in General), so why wouldn't the farmer just continue doing what he's always done for decades ?
  23. I’ve nothing against Aussies… If it were a Brit behaving like an idiot, bigot, showing poor or disgusting character & being an utter pr!ck I’d call them out too…
  24. 100% Bogan - that was never in doubt.
  25. Grotesque offensive asinine turd…. 🤠 To avoid the obvious confusion I’m referring to the British nonce of course - just in case any of you are understandably confused !!! 🤣
