  1. Well... you can count to three.... if the someone struggles beyond that, an agent may be of some use !!!!
  2. Ensure the online reviews are considered first.... https://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R3GDDEL1SC1QQ5
  3. This is true - especially shorts !!!.... Last time I renewed my licence the grumpy old bat at the DLT testing centre told me to get out because I was wearing shorts (I had some on standby in the car). I told her, no problem, I have trousers in the car... But what about the 3 Thai guys in the game group wearing shorts ?????? !!!.... Suddenly my shorts were no longer an issue but she wasn't pleased when I popped out and returned 5mins later having changed into trousers anyway !!!...
  4. So does finishing off the bottle !!!.... I figured re-shaping a wine cork to make it narrower would lead to the same weakness that existed in the first place and cause the cork to break apart again... I used Clingfilm and tape to reseal the bottle..... I now have a Whisky de-canter which takes care of a degraded cork issue.
  5. Ape-x... is that a Pun ??? Would it not be less expensive in the long term to chose a beau further along the evolutionary process (i.e. less hairy !!)... (joking of course !!!)...
  6. I've tried that before, the diameter of a Wine Cork was not as narrow as the Whisky Cork.... I'm not sure about the Dalmore though... On that point - to prevent damage to the cork, store Whisky standing upright... as the high alcohol content damages the cork. Conversely, wine needs to be stored with a wet cork.
  7. A lot of 'it' depends where, what type of reception, how many people etc.... Also... the couple will recover some of the cost with 'envelope' money. (in effect, my wedding was free after the envelope money had been totted up). I wouldn't worry about the age of the Woman in question - plenty of women remain unmarried until their 30's... if could mean they are bonkers and no bloke will go near them, it could also mean they are switched on and avoid d-heads... Talk of marriage so early is a bit of an alarm though !!!
  8. Good follow up - no one wants to see a decent Whisky go to waste.... You finished the bottle ? or if not, how did you re-seal it ?
  9. I suspect one of the most 'common' issues resulting in brake failure is 'driver error' and over use of the brakes which overheat and fail... So the brakes fail... but the failure is induced - Poor driver training, driver error, poor materials, lack of maintenance even.... And all of this a consequence of a lack of accountability of the owners of the trucks who escape responsibility as authorities look no further than the driver....
  10. No it didn't.... It wasn't 'truck brake failure' that led to the fatal crash.... It was maintenance failure, driver error, lack of accountability, lack of regular inspection which led to brake failure causing a fatal crash.
  11. True... its reported that with the slightly higher CO2 levels (280ppm pre-industrial revolution and 420 ppm today) increase photosynthesis / ergo plant growth has increased on a global scale.....
  12. So not concerned at all about the AQI of your fellow citizens or their guests? They can all die of asthma as far as Bualong is concerned. The priorities are somewhat different when fighting to put food on the table... its easy to judge from our ivory towers, but judge the correct people.... not the individuals who are struggling.
  13. This farming practice in annual use at least a millennia ago before commercialisation covered a far smaller area and the resultant pollution less wide spread or severe.... the knowledge of both respiratory illness caused by burning and viable alternatives was also unknown.
  14. Agreed... And then getting neighboring countries to do the same... While I wholly object to the burning of fields and the horrific pollution such actions cause each year with all the additional consequences due to respiratory illness this is not an 'individual issue'.... its a government issue and the government is failing its populace when it is unable to provide and enforce a less polluting alternative that is not economically damaging to the individuals involve. In much the same manner as not dealing with the cultural plague that hits road safety, particularly not wearing helmets and seatbelts, authorities also fail to protect the population from itself in this issue of burning fields. The satisfaction at a poor persons death shown by some posters is sickening - the deceased was working to scrape by a living and it cost him his life, he should never have been in this situation in the first place.
  15. Both examples above highlight how simple it 'can be'.... The issue of course is that the process itself is quite time consuming for the individual Amphur officer processing the case.... Wife went to renew her ID Card and asked about the Yellow Book for me, She also met resistance at the start as she was told my visa is not a real visa !! (must be fake !!)... She had to push the issue.... the Amphur officer relented and gave us an appointment two months away !!!..... We were travelling a lot over Christmas etc so this suited us perfectly !!..... Come appointment day - with all the required documentation we sat there while the poor Amphur officer spent about 2 hours doing loads of paperwork - I was surprised at how much paperwork the Amphur officer had to fill out.... It was then that I understood exactly why they put up hurdles - its a lot of work for them....
  16. Some folk lack the intelligence to consider such issues critically.... The reality is that blame tends to be proportioned along the path of least resistance... The BiB don't care who's to blame, they only care to get the issue resolved as simply and quickly as possible.... and this usually involves 'suggesting the seemingly wealthier party' pays out, this is usually the person carrying 1st class insurance, whether Thai or Foreigner.... If however, a driver offers resistance to being proportioned blame, the BiB then have to follow due process - its obviously best to have a dash-cam to present proof. Examples: uninsured motorcyclist pulls out without looking, A Thai driver hits them... BiB come along... feels sorry for the poorer party and as the driver has 1st Class insurance, the blame is proportioned to the driver. A Thai will commonly accept this as a 'normal - cultural facet of driving here'... where as a foreigner facing the same circumstances will cry that they were blamed simply because they are a foreigner...... & In this scenario - IF either party objects, the Police will then have to look into things a little deeper (this is where dash-cam footage is handy)... Then the blame will have to be placed on the motorcyclist, but who pays for fixing the damage to the car ?.... the motorcyclist is uninsured... So the 1st class insurance person will advice that the driver accepts 50/50 blame and the insurance pays to repair the car. In this case, the Thai will understand whats going on, but a foreigner may commonly cry that they were blamed for an accident (50% of) that was 100% someone else's fault showing a lack of understanding of how the systems works here when so many vehicles are uninsured.
  17. Thats just an uneducated, ill-informed myth perpetuated by bar-stool-fools.....
  18. This is a thread about a Brit begging for money for drugs. In which, like a dog to a whistle, you have been unable to restrain yourself from your usual Brit bash.... You blame all Brits because your Ex-Wife saw something better in an Englishman than she did in you... a bitter pill to swallow I'm sure... seems you still can't get over it...
  19. No, i am unable to see deleted posts. hmm...... more lies... You are clearly blinded by bigotry.....
  20. Well it wouldnt be a thread about another British pest in Thailand without the Brit apologists coming out to deflect. Lets start a Gofundme to help the poor victim. As you can see from the deleted posts above - There is simply no point in engaging with someone quite as bigoted as yourself.... A famous Mark Twain quote springs to mind....
  21. Deleted - No point debating with a bigoted fool.
  22. And so it begins.... ..... the dumb responses from people who'd argue because they never felt the need for one they project that no one else would find such documentation adds a layer of convenience to their lives..... YAWN...
  23. Should he also instruct the Police to crack down on influential figures throughout the nation... Perhaps start with property tycoons who use their influence and power in planning to free up over 900 acres (3.6km2) of prime river front real estate..... https://aseannow.com/topic/1324482-bangkok-port-relocation-set-to-combat-pollution-and-congestion/
  24. If you are 70 years old and have charged every day then you did about 40 charges a day. Who do you think will believe that? Jaysus H..... Some people get hung up on on irrelevant semantics.... Its clear the 'million' number quoted is an obvious exaggeration and he meant he's done it a lot... does it really need to be debated ?
