  1. Well done Pilot - everyone safe, no souls risked.... If the visibility at the destination airport is below regulations diverting to an alternative airport with sufficient fuel is somewhat of an SOP no-brainer... only an idiot would criticise this.
  2. Are we going to see the same 'netizen' out-rage as we did with the girls sunbathing on the grass ??? Is a task force of policemen going to be sent to reprimand these bogans for upsetting Thailands sensitivities ??? There has to be 'some outrage' right ??... And of course, we can expect the "they give all of us farangs a bad name" type comments... Along with "what is it with these arrogant toursts that they do not learn the local culture and customs?"..... ... just two bogan tools thinking they are funny.... I will of course agree with most of the predictable comments... these guys are an embarrassment to whatever nation they are from (I've made my guess).... Surely there were authorities at the airport to tell them "no grow up !!"
  3. I hope the irony is not lost on you commenting on a thread 2 months after and talking about the next day !!!
  4. ???... Only a Brit... 'Only an idiot' would make such a comment... and you laugh at someone dying.. ... you've highlighted not only your bigotry but a vapid personality to boot.
  5. After a sports injury I had a DVT and P.E. in my 30's..... I was on Warfarin for 6 months. I purchased my own INR test kit (which as the time was about US$1000), but it meant I could track the INR levels daily. It was quite surprising to see the swing in results when targeting an therapeutic INR range of 2.0 to 3.0. My INR would swing from 1.0 to sometimes 5.0 - depending on what I'd been consuming and even the time of day. At the time I wanted the alternative - the Dr's were very good an even knew the exact medical journals and papers I'd been reading when asking for the alternative to Warfarin (which had just been released for post Op patients in Canada at the time). Dr's couldn't get that medication until FDA approval was secured. Fast forward 10 years and I had another P.E. (cause unknown), this time they put me on Xarelto and I'm on it for life. No side effect, no issues monitoring and no 'swing'. The only issue is that Rivoroxaban is 'irreversible' and lasts in the system for approximately 24 hours...
  6. Its ok... we get it... You're an antisocial being who has no desire to interact with any locals other than paying some of the younger ones for a quick fumble without any further conversation... It's your life, so no criticism of that, until you start making flawed comments and tarring all others and their relationships with the same tainted brush with which you paint your own broad strokes.
  7. Believing the response was just for you is somewhat narcissistic don't you think Lou ??.. you are not special.. well you are, but not in that context, you're not the only person on this thread & the response was for the benefit of more people than 'just you'.....
  8. Me thinks you are making s£it up !!... Bolt drivers.... - No Sat Nav ? Wrong - the very App they uses has a Map. - No Map ? Wrong - again, the very App they uses has a Map (they all have a phone - google maps anyone ?) - No Air-con ? Wrong - nearly all cars in Thailand have AC (never had a bolt without)
  9. Fair enough.... I haven't alleged that you lied because I don't share your opinion... I questioned your post becase your bias shone through and you became defensive and posted about how great Thai-Airways is and that you fly them all the time and completely omitted that you actually have a frame of reference having also traveled on Emirates and Qatar in within the past couple of years. That said, given the frame of reference which with you compare, I still question your judgement as to the quality of Thai airways particularly when comparing it to Airlines which are repeatedly awarded for being 'top in class'... You fly business class - is Thai Airways Business class remotely comparable to a Qatar Airways Q-Suite or Emirates Flat Bed ?? - I know from personal experience, the answer is a hard no.
  10. Indeed... my Wife sometimes does the same with friends.... though I believe praying in temples is a euphemism for shopping & cafe-hopping...
  11. Anything written by most of the 'The Tiger' writers is pretty awful, convoluted, jumps around, misses simple facts etc... It takes a couple of re-reads to piece the info together. 1) Foreigner takes a Bolt taxi. 2) Foreigner asks the Bolt driver to stop cos he needs to urinate. 3) Foreigner doesn't get back in the bolt, but takes a moto-taxi (owing bolt 171 baht). 4) Bolt driver followed the moto-taxi and requested 171 baht (from who ??) - moto-taxi rider gave him 100 baht and told him to get the rest from the Foreigner. 5) Moto-driver and foreigner somehow end up in a fight. 6) Bolt driver started recording the fight on his phone, foreigner saw this and punched him and bit him. 7) Foreigner got into the Bolt car and then crashed it repeatedly.
  12. In properties I've rented in the past there has been an agreement with the landlord... Anything less than 2000 baht I just get on with it and fix it myself... Anything I'd estimate to be more than 2000 baht, contact the landlord for them to deal with it. Thus: anything like a leaking fawcet etc is extremely simple to self fix changing out like for like. You could still change it out to your 1200 baht freckle-douche at the end of the contract, its costs you nothing extra. IF a tenant does something that creates water damage, or doesn't report a leak and just leaves it - they are on the hook for the damage.
  13. You don't know why expats would live outside of Pattaya ???... I've always struggled to find reason why anyone would live there !!!.. .
  14. Someone's confused with the use of a keyboard home button ??.... They've have to be a complete halfwit to be confused by that.
  15. Love this kind of boomer talk... This generation is worse than the previous, yadda, yadda, yadda... blrrr, blrrr, blrrr... Utter rubbish....
  16. I was going to ridicule your use of a facebook link as credible source... But what they say in the video rings very true.
  17. How do you know - for the last 25 years you have been flying Thai Airways.... your comparison is imagined. Your post reads more like someone likes Thailand so much they just love everything Thai... and thats great for you, but it does distort your frame of reference when it comes to anything critical of Thailand. Its rather apparent that Airways have not evolved with the competition - they're not a terrible airline by any means, but a lot of the 'long haul' competition just does it better now.
  18. ... from when the sea level was thousands meters higher than it is now...
  19. Kind of agree... Air-miles are great when they can be used... But, I don't chose my flight because it will earn me airmiles - I do so because its the ideal option for me. With TG - the Airmiles are all from credit card use (and so far we've had 3 return flight to Japan, so pretty good, but its just hard to secure the Airmiles booking on TG - thats the issue there). With Emirates... The Airmiles are useful to 'lower the cost of the flight' with Miles+Cash. With QatarAirways... I was able to lower the cost of a flight from the UK to Switzerland (with British Airways) using Avios (transfering from QatarAirways to BritishAirways).. what would have been about £1000 (or more) cost £130 after all air-miles were used up. As with your mate... flying a lot for work allows the miles to tot up..... Using the Airmiles with Emirates / Qatar / BA is extremely easy. TG really could do with making using the Air-miles easier.
  20. Strewth, I wouldn't pay much heed to a nickname, maybe that's what his mates called him because he likes muffdiving? Fair enough Vulgar Bald Fu........ (sorry... door was open....)......
  21. Now you are just trolling, stop trying to find excuses for monks. Its not trolling Brian I assure you... I'm just wondering why you are going to such a stretch bringing up such points as fuel efficiency... Its just odd... There are sensible points to be made... such as why was a monk driving etc... but your fuel efficiency point.. thats just really over egging it.. they have to get places just like everyone else... ... so the question is valid - were do you draw the line ? I'm mot making excuses for Monks, its very likely we agree on the whole idea of Monk-hood (and religion in general) But.. I'm picking holes in a rather silly argument of yours... it weakens other points you may have.
  22. You can just click the 'home button' on your keyboard that will do the same thing... Its the <Function> + <left arrow> or on a DeskTop, just the <home> button.... There is no need for anything programmed into the page itself.
  23. Who's money is paying for it? So Monks should be riding around in EV's ???.... who pays for the electricity ??? Aren't more fuel efficient vehicles more modern ? who pays for those ? How are they transported otherwise ??... a Mini-van is the norm, but isn't that a gas guzzler when its only one or two monks require transport ?? Where do you draw the line ??.... I get it that you think the whole 'Monk' thing is a sham... but I'm wondering why it seems to bother you so much ? that you are bringing up such insignificant points and even the thought of them being transported in less fuel efficient vehicles is an issue for you.
  24. Indeed... water under the bridge... Although, how much would a lawyer cost to claim back 130,000 from a Thai insurance company, and what are the chances of winning ???... that could be throwing good money after bad....
