  1. I'm not sure about Toyota, but other dealerships are certainly offering test drivers.... I suspect this is a policy of that specific dealership, or worse still, possibly even lazy sales staff who just can't be bothered. But, I had the same issue with Honda a few years back - I was looking at an Accord, and first things first I wanted to see if I could fit in it - so I needed to move the electric drivers seats back. I asked the sales lady to get the keys so I could move the seat back... the answer... 'no have'.... This wasn't a language barrier, it was a lazy barrier... next I looked at the CRV and asked a couple of questions which the sales lady could not answer... wife and I just walked away shaking our heads - we were probably going to buy one of those cars... 'defeat snatched from the jaws of victory'... I wonder how many failed sales happen because of terrible sales service - it seems they only care about sticking a bow on a car for a photo !
  2. you do know that when an "?" is put in a sentence what it means dont you ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????? numpty It’s a question aimed at you... Now, without even knowing what car I purchased, the model, or the year, you have claimed that I paid 'full sticker price' for a recent purchase - something you can't possibly know which makes you look stupid. So, you have made a statement and a claim about something you can't possibly know, which is absurd, and instead of accepting that, you have doubled down, making yourself look even more stupid. Next, you have chosen to bring 'grammar' into the fray, as if it strengthens your argument, but you failed in your attempt to use grammar and punctuation accurately, making yourself look, you guessed it, even more stupid. Numpty indeed.....
  3. Thanks,do we need to bring the bike also or only green book/documents will do? The motorcycle will need to be inspected if its over 5 years old.
  4. I wouldn't deny it... Fear is an amazing thing... No so long ago were were all wearing masks and the world shut down. If lived in a large condo I'm not sure how happy I'd be with 100 EV's from China parked underneath me... even though I'm fully aware the risk of ICE combustion is far far greater..... Just wait until we are driving around with mini-nuclear-fusion reactors under the hood.... parking 100km away only ?
  5. How many of us here hold national protests and demand 'Jesus law' here ? I get your point, and you want to avoid hypocrisy and unbalance - but I also believe there is an exceptional difference between illegal immigration in the UK and much of the Europe and some folk circumnavigating visa regulations in Thailand.... Its a convenient argument on a binary playing field, but the waters of logic seep through the massive fractures of sense when reasonable balance is applied. When Westerners are demanding Canon Law in Thailand, when we are holding mass protests, when we are taking social security payments, using the free healthcare systems and making whole areas of towns and cities unsafe then I think there is a fair comparison..... ... until then... the similarities are too far removed and the behavior of a handful of idiot tourist and criminals is not the same as any comparison to the immigration issues the UK and Europe are facing.
  6. Ultimately, if things turn south sabotage is the final answer... Or even a 'paintball gun' to shoot the camera !! Perhaps even a tazer - hop over the fence and fry the camera !... All worse case scenarios - a reasonable chat should resolve most issues. And if the owner is unaccommodating, then he has forced you into a course of action you would have preferred not to take.... (physically removing or interfering with camera)
  7. And thats what I pointed out to the other guys while sat surrounding a sumptuous Makloubeh... (and yes, surprisingly enough, drinking beer and Whisky !!).... ... But, most of their friends are not in the UK for a better life, they are there to make money through whatever means possible and send it back to their home countries... to which I pointed out, thats exactly what I was doing !!! The UK and many area's of Europe are not homes for many of these folk - they are not area's to 'flee too as refugees'... they are area where they get free food, free healthcare, free money.... and if they are lucky, tax free work... They smuggled whatever than can into the countries... they are involved in smuggling each other !!... They smuggle out cars, phones, tech, equipment and other stolen items they can get hold of... anything, absolutely anything where money can be made they are involved with... Its highly enterprising... but make no mistake, its (nearly) all illegal..... and they're amused that our governments are so soft... The exception of course are those who have moved there with solid employable skills who do move and have made a better life.
  8. Is that common in Thailand? Thx Only about 3% of Condo's / Apartments in Thailand have EV charging facilities... So its likley most don't have the option anyway. And those which do have 'power points' may not be happy with residents using 'communal power' to charge their vehicle.... so that might explain the 'ban' on charging of EVs (i.e. via a granny-charger into a regular 220v socket). But that does not explain outright the 'ban on EV's parking' there... which could be a miscommunication, or a regulation the juristic committee have passed. Lets not forget that recently one of the Ferry companies from Mainland to Koh Samui banned EV's - so its clear the waters on this matter are somewhat muddied and car from crystal clear.
  9. You really want a fight - 555. Is this you virtue signaling? Cute 🙂 Rage on -you the man! You've openly called another poster a liar - yet accuse others wanting a flight.... time for you to re-think what you've written.
  10. I think the reasonable approach would be to visit the neighbour and discuss with him. There are two facets to this and its somewhat of a double edged sword. - His cameras over looking your property is effectively adding a layer of security. - His cameras over looking your indoor private living area is an invasion of privacy. Anyone reasonable would adjust the positioning. If the other owner is being unreasonable and will not entertain moving the camera's - then you have other steps that can be taken (such as removing the cameras etc when hes not in - the legality of some of this may be in questions, but ultimately if you wish to protect your privacy, you may have to respond accordingly. One option I've read of in the past is shinning lasers into the camera - but when the course of action needs to take such a path, neighbourly spirit has been lost and it can turn into an exhausting battle.
  11. OK... So he... [henryford1958] is stating the Condo he lives in does not allow EV's from Parking there or Charging there. You are calling him a liar.... @henryford1958 - over to you.... Which condo / apartments are you living in ?
  12. No they don't. How do you know ??? His condo [the condo henryford1958 lives in] may very well ban EV's from parking or charging there.... ... There is no possibly way for you [atpeace] to know this one way or another... I think its quite feasible that some condo's could come up with such knee-jerk regulations... but thats beside the point - the point here is that its impossible for you to know unless you know exactly where he [henryford1958] lives.
  13. My friend used to process asylum claims she said 95% were fake. Those claiming to be afghans today are mostly Pakistani or Bangladeshi with no grounds for an asylum claim, it's become a scam. Muslim terrorism has nothing to do with colonial history, and everything to do with thier religion. Given my working environment and nationals I am exposed to I have been on friendly terms with many nationals from various countries famed for their 'immigration and seeking of asylum to the UK.... ... The patterns are nearly always the same... ... Many educated asylum seekers are able to secure decent work and actually seem to contribute well to society. ... others have secured business which may or may not fly close to the law, however, they provide jobs and pay taxes. ... then theres a strong majority who do very little and are able to secure funds and healthcare, they overstay visas, they lie about their true nationality, they smuggle, they are involved in smuggling others... the stories are wide spread amongst the people I've associated with (and yes, had beers with too - as many are not as strict about that as we may be believe). .... The one very firm constant... none of these colleagues or acquaintances mentioned anything at all of female asylum seekers... They are ALL males, working or obtaining money where they can and sending it back. They are NOT in the UK due to persecution in their home countries.... they are in the UK purely for financial reasons - the friends of the folk I'd call passing acquaintances and a few I'd call friends are in the UK simply because they can be..... The 'only group' who do seem to be genuine are those who have established themselves professionally and integrated into society, they don't live in Bayswater or other decrepit armpits of the UK etc they live in areas such as Leeds, Coventry, Cambridge etc...
  14. Did I ????... how much was full sticker price that I paid for ?... ... you dont even know what car it is, let alone what the price was ya silly numpty !!!
  15. Are you assuming he was Muslim? He was Afghani - Afghanistan is an overwhelmingly Muslim country with Sunni Muslims accounting for approximately 85-90% of the population and Shia Muslims for approximately 10-15% of the population. So yes, absolutely I am 'stating' that there is an overwhelming probability that he was Muslim and mostly likely Sunni Muslim.... There are other minute possibilities that he was a non-Muslim... he could have been one of the 200-300 Hindus and Sikhs, or one of the 10,000 or so Christians, Bahá'ís, Atheists / Agnostics who practice or hold their beliefs in secret due to the risks of persecution. Or... if you want to continue down your rabbit hole... he could have been a cross dressing trans lesbian Jew... But lets face it - he was from Afghanistan and there is an overwhelming probability that he [the attacker] was Muslim - if you think otherwise, you are entering the realm of the unrealistic and preposterous.
  16. Thats just dumb people who get fear-mongered by the news rather than understanding real risk. But, there may also be an issue with 'charging' and how they 'charge you'.... which may be a reason, as its unfair for you to use the 'communal electricity' to charge your vehicle. Any decent apartment will have a set up of charging stations or options for you to charge your car and bill directly.
  17. No sure what your point was with any of that.... It seems you wanted a car but didn't want to pay the price of the car,,,, Our experience buying our latest car. - Saw it on Show at one of the shopping malls, liked it. - A few days later drove past a show-room so decided to pop in and have a look. - Had time so decided to give one a test drive. - Liked the test drive, decided to buy one. - Went through the bourchers and other cars in the showroom. - Decided on Model Spec, Exterior and interior colour (ensured they had stock in country) - Discussed extras (just the usual stuff). - Chose tint. - Paid deposit. - Picked up the car a week later.
  18. Yep, I get that point... Never the less, the internal temperature of a car is hotter with a weaker tint. But, I do agree with you that a stronger tint will reflect more of the UV radiation back through the glass allowing it to radiate greater heat.... thus it may feel warmer though proximity, but nothing underneath the roof will be warmer as it blocks the passage of more UV radiation into the vehicle itself. When parked in the Sun, a internal temperature of a car will get a lot hotter from the a moon-roof that has less tint compared on one with a far higher tint. Thus - there is the difference of the 'glass itself warming (heating up)' and radiating heat into the car, and the glass (with a tint) preventing UV rays from entering the car and heating up internal upholstery and occupants directly. I for one would always go with the strongest tint on the roof for this purpose, and also ensure there is also a 'cloth barrier' that most cars with a moon roof also have.
  19. The topic is about an Afghan murderer. Who happens to be Muslim at a time when such attacks appear to be religiously motivated rather than simple 'madness'...
  20. Pull yer neck in ye daftie.... you made a reading mistake thats all.... Curious though - whats the teetoataler comment about ?
  21. You go to McDonalds and expect Ronnie to cook your burger ????
  22. Yep - thats why IMO, its always best to go stright to source and get a serious of examples and sit in the car... ideally at night or in the workshop where they can turn off the lights. I have the opposite opinion - go for the strongest tint on the moonroof and cut out as much as the UV light as possible as that cuts out as much heat radiation as possible - its simple science.
  23. If any of the above were 'needed' they they'd be included. I'm not sure that the battery guard is... If it a cover for the 12v battery, thats not something ever needed in ICE's, its not needed here. As far as a Frunk is needed, again, thats not anything ever needed in an ICE (primarily because there is no space).. but, we have a 67 litre Frunk in our car - we've not once used it, I forgot it was there. What is meant by 'premium' carpets - cos those 'bubble things' are not premium, but they are handy in wet season or if around muddy roads etc - usually any type of carpet is included. The faux kevlar add-ons are gauche chavy kitch urg... horrible additions, forget them unless you are planning on rocking up to the local Maccie D's with a serchio tachini tracksuit, a fuzzy top lip and the latest alpaca hair-cut !!!...
  24. Regarding Tint: - Moonroof - highest tint you can go: the roof lets in so much heat. We have an 80% tint (the highest we could get) and we can see through it clearly in the brightness of day, but not at night) - 99% of the time we now have the moonroof cover extended over the glass. (You wont use the moonroof anywhere near you think you might). - Side Windows: Not more than 40% tint (maybe even 40% on the rear sides and back) and 30% on the front sides. - Windscreen: 20 or 30%: You need to be sure you can see at night. Note - the percentages are not everything, different manufacturers have different qualities of visibility with the same tint, so try if you can with trial and error. We have 30% tint on our Windscreen and its a slightly too dark for my liking to the point I'm thinking of getting it removed and replacing it with lighter tint (though its great in the day time).
  25. What was the pad Thai they tried? I would like to try it too. I'll find out which Paad Thai they [the visiting guests) had ordered and get back to you in this thread.... (I know it was from somewhere in Bangkok). Personally, I think the Paad Thai at Greyhound Cafe (any of the branches) in Bangkok is very decent. Time improve the reading comprehension (highlighted in red above).......remember..... 'mouth into neutral, brain into gear' !!!!
