  1. Hi VocalNeal,

    That approach which u propose is very worthy in itself often ;

    However :

    1_

    the main problem, or rather the main challenge, is already implicit in what I wrote,

    viz.

    support the comings, & goings, of a pickup motorized vehicle ultimately supported on hard earth ground

    2_

    the proposal's problem, or rather the proposal's challenge, is whether ipso-facto it is feasible to be successful

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

    Worthy as ur proposed approach to arriving at feasible solution is in many situations,- I am confident that u would accede to Henry Ford's statement ;

    "If I had performed Market Research,- the market would have only informed me to get a faster horse."

    [ or words similar ]

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    By the way,- I should have mentioned that the sheet of plywood is meant to be completely covered in rubbery-mastic for more than 1 reason,

    incl.

    prevent the sheet from decay by microbes

    prevent the sheet from decay by pests

  2. Dear Fellow Thaivisa.com Posters,

    I would be grateful for all yer constructive relevant input to the following proposal ;

    "System of "cheap type" 25mm thick Plywood Sheets [ perhaps costing some THB 500 in main hardware chain stores ] that are then covered in "rubbery" Mastic [ for elastic response, & ease of removal -- if wanted later -- by solvent & scraper ], & then butted edge-to-edge according to area to be covered, & then surfaced with suitable floor tiles, is "feasible" option as top floor supporting the comings & goins of a pickup truck motorized vehicle ?

    Thanking yee all, in advance, for yer most helpful kind relevant replies.

    Regards,

  4. I will contact those phone numbers which u gave in ur first reply CharlieH ;

    And,- thank u for that specifically too.

    However,- I allow for particular person from these offices innocently not knowing about such a facility [ alleged "green form" ] that :

    "may have been" in operation

    "is" in operation.

    So, for "redundancy" / "supplementation" sake,- I welcome responses from posters who have knowledge about the "green form" discussions.

    Regrettably,- a search in Thaivisa.com did not produce results for "green form".

  5. Many thanks CharlieH for ur good addition to this topic,

    viz.

    avoid couriers.

    I am aware of that insight following reading consensus in many a thread on Thaivisa.com forum ;

    They are harbingers of bad luck for the addressee in that the addressee is hit with customs duties inter alia thanks to courier company's giddy enthusiasm to notify customs even if the item is for personal use only & reportedly of "trivial" market worth.

    Obviously they would also not be likely contenders for helping one to get proper handle on the "green form" mentioned in my original post.

    Are u aware of such a "green form" CharlieH ?

    I recall some mentions, on Thaivisa.com forum threads, of ;

    means to avoid Customs Fees & / or other Govt. fees for particular categories of products imported from China, & maybe from ASEAN countries, for personal use at least, into Thailand

    Some posters spoke of a colour "green" form to submit [ at start of ordering process perhaps ? ]

    Please feel free to inform with succinct most useful understanding on this topic.

    Thanking yee all in advance for yer most helpful constructive relevant replies.

    Here is hoping for information & recommendations as to how I can get "good & cheap" solutions to "A_ Car [ Pickup ] Chairs" & "B_ Car [ Pickup ] Seat-Belts" below

    A_

    I wish to up-grade the Chairs thus :

    Surface :

    Smooth [ Non-Pile ]

    Durable

    Easily capable of being covered by Free-Size Car Covers that I see in stall of shopping mall selling for some THB 3,500 a pair

    Adjustment ;

    Perhaps feasible are inclusion of functions other than current :

    Slide back & forth

    Tilt of Back

    Removable Head Rests

    Seat Height

    Perhaps there is a nominal size on-the-shelf which very satisfactorily fits most pickups including mine.

    I hope to avoid incurring probable much higher price for custom-made chairs.

    Note ;

    I hope that "powered" chairs are not necessary for to easily enable Seat Height adjustment.

    OR

    A_2_

    "Used" Front Chairs in "excellent" condition that satisfactorily fulfill all of desired qualities & adjustments outlined in 1_ above.

    "original" Tabien Baan [ "Housebook" ( Blue or Yellow ) ] for where the child is registered

    b_

    photocopies of all of a_ [ above ]

    c_

    "signed" [ with "blue ball-pen" ] photocopy of c_ [ above ]

    e_

    written letter -- in Thai or English ? -- [ signed with "blue ball-pen" ] from mother of the child in support of u applying for this particular type "O" visa based on being parent of her, together with your, Thai child

    ADDENDUM

    Certificate of Legitimisation of Parenthood

    I think that they expect the applicant to definitely have obtained Legitimisation of Parenthood for the child, & thus supply the proof of that [ "original" Certificate of Legitimisation, & also photocopy of it ]

    Photocopies

    Particular photocopies being supplied by applicant I gather are appreciated because they ease the processing of the application by the consulate.

  13. Thanks to yee both above for your replies.

    I clarify that I deducted the visas which were affirmed in the text of that website as given at Savannakhet from the total of all categories of visas, & thereby had a list of categories which has :

    1_

    some visas stated as definitely not given there

    2_

    some visas which are not stated either way

    Hence,- the original post.

    Following the confident intelligent replies, & especially from authoritative source as Ubonjoe, stating that Non-Immigrant Visa Category "O" on basis of applicant being parent living with their Thai child, is expected by them as currently being given by Thai Consulate at Savannakhet,- I felt re-assured to plan more for such an application & visit pending reply from Thai Visa Service company ;

    And, happily,- the company returned to me later today to confirm that which yee stated.

    So, yes,- Thai Consulate at Savannakhet, Laos do currently give Non-Immigrant Visa Category "O" based upon being parent of a Thai.

    Cheers.

  14. Is it possible to get Non-Immigrant Visa Category "O", for temporary stay in Thailand, on basis of being Parent living with their Thai Child, at Thailand Consulate, Savannakhet, Laos ?

    I gather, by deduction, that Savannakhet have stopped issuing this visa.

    If refused/denied a visa there, the Consulate will offer you a 30 days Transit visa to ensure you can come to Thailand.

    In case you got a Transit visa it can’t be extended at Thai Immigration.

    And a new visa application (Non Immigrant only) must be at another location, not Vientiane or Savannakhet."

    [ enlarged font size on last sentence by Our Man in the Tropics ].

    Thus far, from last night,- I have not been able to get contact from the above company ;

    But,- I will try again today during normal working time.

    You can have £ or $ or other currency accounts with Bangkok Bank. Known as an FCD account. Not every branch has this facility so you may have to try a couple of branches.

    You can also link this to a Thai Baht account with the same bank.

    Unlike Thai Baht, funds in other currencies are NOT guaranteed by the Bank of Thailand.

  21. I cannot open up CIMB website on my browser ;

    My internet sercurity software is blocking access ;

    Although,- I think that the various url's that I tried are genuine.

    Anyway, from what I viewed last night,- I think CIMB bank has some service or 2 which may facilitate electronic payments from neighboring countries to Thailand to arrive into Thailand, & thus be recorded as "foreign transfer transaction" if payee receives from CIMB bank in neighboring country transfer into their CIMB deposit account or whatever account at their Thailand CIMB is suitable to accomplish this record ;

    However,- I confess to not having delved deep into their information yet ;

    My browser was acting up with too many tabs open.

  22. Above preference by Thailand Immigration Department does not necessarily mean that monthly social security, & / or private, payments from foreign countries, issued as cheques / checks to Falang payees will not be recognised for calculation of monthly income ?

    A bankable country -- ref. overall positive Moody's Fitch ratings for Thailand that feature as new thread tonight on this forum -- one would expect to so accept.

    Ditto per "foreign cashier's cheques / checks".
