British tourist missing after trip to Bangkok found safe in Finland
paulikens replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It's a bit intriguing story though. At first i thought maybe he met a finnish girl in Thailand and went there with her but why would he tell his UK girlfriend that he was coming home early if that was the case. So, maybe he had an all expenses paid trip to Finland to deliver a package😉 All seems a bit sus that's for sure. A lot of people on here commenting that he just wanted to be left alone but not wondering why he left Thailand early and then went missing? And if he wanted to be left alone why did he ring his girlfriend in the first place? Definitely more to this story then wanting to be left alone. -

As another poster said he would have had his passport on him and also the mother is the one who reported him missing in the first place so her contact details would be on the missing report ffs -

Thailand unveils new visa rules, sparks mixed reactions
paulikens replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It seems a very strange reason in theory to why you would be coming to Thailand, Thailand is not exactly the epicenter of music festivals. So, why would anyone be flying the other side of the world in some cases, for a music festival in Thailand. and does the 500k in the bank requirements still apply? I can just imagine the Immigration's reaction If you told them that was the reason you was coming into Thailand. Laugh in your face and turn you round no doubt. -

Thailand unveils new visa rules, sparks mixed reactions
paulikens replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
That's what I thought. That is confusing and strange. At first when i read it i presumed it meant if you was going to be working at a music festival but one of the requirements was to have proof of ticket. which suggests to me is that you only have to be attending the festival and not working at it. But I can't see that being right or happening. -

I hope so but you might have just met a decent one (they're a few) or she was just about to clock off for the day and that's why she was so friendly. As for her stamping you till the end of validity date, Isn't that what they're meant to do🤔 -

Time will tell but I can see the IO's not playing ball. Does the Ministry of foreign affairs really decide how IO apply the rules. they do as they please. -
Thai customer complains about buffet restaurant staff service
paulikens replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Although this complaint didn't sound legit, In general Thais don't complain enough, As they don't like confrontation (unless it's with a foreigner) and it's about time they did. they shouldn't have to put up with bad service/services. Too many businesses in Thailand get away with having incompetent staff and bad service because they know they can get away with it because Thais won't say anything. -
Thailand Aims to Increase Tourism with Paris Olympics Campaign
paulikens replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
What a bizarre way of thinking. Surely French people would rather be in France for the Olympics if they actually wanted to watch it or they would have already booked their holidays for during the Olympics. And also the majority of the Olympics will be on during the early hours of the mornings in Thailand so even more reason to want to watch it in their own country. Always thought the Thai peoples way of thinking is weird and this is more proof. -

Expats angry at huge concessions in latest Thai visa announcements

Bitching cuz they think and want to be special. Why should it bother them if everyone can stay here for a long duration -
I hope that is right but a bit premature to go on the word of one person. We all know how hit and miss Immigrations are. tomorrow you could go and they say you can't do any land border runs on the new 60 day waiver and i actually heard that is the case. now a lot of countries will be given 60 days they won't allow border runs. it changes like the wind. Need a lot more time to pass to know this is definitely the case.
