  1. You visited all those places in Vietnam and found no nightlife? I saw LOTS.. . not Hoi An though. What is your definition of nightlife?
  2. You reply is absolutely ridiculous. You know nada ✌️
  3. This! We know that this are terrible at managing their money... and I think they feel the gravy train will just go on and on. They should seriously consider some major changes, especially a shift in attitude. In the past when things get tough they just increase prices with zero added value. Very little effort has been put out on their part. Here in Hua hin.. Most Thai girls STILL scream out "massage" after standing there for 10 years! It's annoying. I wish one day a waitress would enquire "is everything OK" about 5 minutes after they serve my meal. Once in 10 years that's happened. Thailand thinks it's the greatest country on the planet and us expats and tourists should be grateful for what we receive.
  4. Viet people are much more friendly... Curious and warm. Thai are increasingly.. angry and have lost their smile. Thailand hasn't even tried to keep up on the service front... prices are higher and poor service and bad attitude is becoming the current trend. Thai show very little gratitude. I assumed after covid that they would be kinder and more grateful. Fk me I was so wrong 555 Thailand is still good value but I want more than a cheap plate of food served user a tin roof. In Da Nang that similar plate of food is served in a real building with nice decor and comfy seats... Close to the beach.. For the same price! Served by locals who are fun and engaging! I feel welcome in Da Nang.
  5. The OP has the statement backwards. Thailand.. After being in the hospitality biz for 40 years has lost its edge. Vietnam, in just a few years ..10?... is catching up with lazy Thailand hospitality biz Thai have lost their smile, can't blame them with the influx of dross of humanity and the lousy job the current sdmin is doing. Viet people are generally friendly, warm and curious
  6. Geeeeez. The apathy or support, from AN members, towards this crime is amazing. It only confirms my stance NOT to read AN much. It's mostly negative, nasty and whining comments.
  7. THIS? THIS.. is my most hated response in my 15 years in Thai Visa et al. 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Oh my giddy Aunt. Absolutely insane. What have YOU guys been snorting?
  8. I got two thumbs down for this comment. So far. Aseannow members are.... ....
  9. Well... after a few friendly conversations sprinkled with "I'll be staying in this town several years".. they honored the warranty. Gave me a brand new service book and filled in all the items that were performed. Phew. I was worried for a bit...
  10. Mid range is 3k to 5k baht? Whaaaat? No way. Wrong! My 600 baht stuff must be really scraping the barrel
  11. A rolled up banknote? 20 baht or 100 USD? Wouldn't a plastic straw suffice without going full HOLLYWOOD? RIP kids.
  12. The Yamaha dealership here in Krabi is refusing to honor the bikes warranty. Because I didn't buy the bike there....thstd their reason. What? I checked before buying that Yamaha allows the bike warranty to be transferred. Fine. Great. I bought it on the premise But because I didn't buy at this dealer AND I dint have the service record book.. The warranty is VOID... because I have no proof that the bike was maintained beforehand. Damn.
  13. 80 kph? I'll pee myself. Sixty is my top speed 😂😂😂 I'll get in a highway tomorrow. Try that. Worth a shot. Thanks
  14. Good morning! My 2023 Nmax with only 7k km starts just fine first thing in the morning. But moving is another story A huge shuddering occurs before the bike starts to move... Then everything is fine. Until I stop... Then.. Shuddering again. It feels exactly like a manual clutch in a car that's not engaging correctly I took it to the Yamaha dealer today but they are too busy. Come back tomorrow A comment the dealer made was that he's seen this problem before with fat men. Thai directness 555. I'm 187 cm and 105 kg. Is this cause legit? Can the belt.. CVT?.. can it be adjusted? Or new normally needed? EDIT.. but when the bike is normal temperature everything is smooth again on take off.
  15. Yes I agree... even at 74 years old my only engagement with Healthcare professionals is just to visit the blood lab each year. Lucky me. However this high iron thingy is worth checking out... I'll do that first test and go from there. Thanks
  16. Really interesting. I had never heard of this condition! So.. Too much iron. I have ALL the symptoms too! 🤦🏻😂😂 Are those iron blood tests available in Thailand? Bkk maybe. But I live in Krabi. Thry also sound expensive... Yes?
  17. Well this post went nowhere. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Visa agent

Yikes! I'm surprised how quiet this forum is. No expats living in Krabi? Or they simply disappeared off the internet... I digress.. If I returned to live in Krabi... I remember that immigration was easy to deal with. However I will need a visa agent. The creative type. Do they exist? Or immigration there is OK with a renewal in Pattaya?
  19. Not BS at all. You must be in the group that thinks that violence is a cool way to teach Thai driving lessons. No it's not! I've been living here 10 years... Foreigners are often the most drunk, disruptive and argumentative.
  20. Oh my giddy Aunt. These sensitive types need a slap in the face. Batman style. I've eaten in that place many times and it never occurred to me to even try for a discount! Body shaming... this is the PC way to protect fat people? I'm overweight... Kids in Thailand poke my belly and say "baby". It's all good fun. Soooooo many people need to get a life!
  21. Why is Thailand attracting more juiced up big bullies?
  22. The foot infection is unfortunate. But things don't spiral out of control with some basic care. Which I'm guessing the dad never did. His 77 years is a pretty good innings for someone that didn't take care of themselves. Time for the son to come to Thailand for £1k and say goodbye to dad 🙏
  23. In my twenties I traveled to places like Greece and Yugoslavia... renting a moped. I remember a burn on my calf from a hot muffler very well. I had zero clue how to ride.. and I was riding on gravel roads! Crazy me. I'm sure my mind said that... Well everyone knows I'm on holiday and the locals in other vehicles will watch out for me and be careful with me" 5555. So basically... Invincible! Stupid thinking... But I don't think I was alone in that thinking 50 years ago RIP young man. 🙏
