Strange how things have changed. When I was at school we were hit with rulers, blackboard dusters, canes, PE slippers and parents were told and there was never a complaint. However it is a very fine line and Thai teachers like to hit kids as young as 6 for no reason. We deserved our punishment ! I don't think you ever hear of Thai teachers hitting 16 year old kids. There would be revenge.
They do. Have witnessed it !

If this does not end in imprisonment then there is no hope for Thai "education".
I do not give a rats posterior for all the "In my day" !
Assault on a minor is assault !
If an adult physically attacked another adult in similar in a public room what would the consensus of opinion be as to outcome? Would it really be " Oh yeah, used to happen to me all the time but no problem I did not die ! " ?

My original issue is unresolved. I have tried every available utility to try and crack the problem. My Linux system can detect the drive but can not mount it. My Win 8.1 has decided to ignore it completely. I have removed from original casing into a generic housing with no better result. Serial No.s off it are not any more recognizable than those on the box. The drive label warning about voiding warranty looks like an amateur attempt at copy, is wrinkled and poorly attached and contains a miss-print. I am forced to concede that whatever/ however it was produced/ (recycled ?) I perhaps would have had some better luck leaving it alone in exFAT format but that is how hindsight usually works. The cost would have bought me half a bottle of Irish whisky but even that ends up down the drain.
Lazada requests my feedback . I shall certainly provide it ! I doubt it will bother them if it is not altogether positive . lol

Sorry to hijack this thread but if some kind person could offer advice I would be most great full.
So Ive read through the comments but I’m still wondering what's the best thing to do?
I have 3 individual home computers each running a different operating system......
Computer 1 – running Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon
Computer 2 – running Mac OS X Mojave 10.14.6
Computer 3 – running Windows 10.I have just purchased a brand new Western Digital 2TB external USB drive from Big C that was on special offer .
I would like to store photographs and a range of miscellaneous items like zip files / .ods denouements / pdf documents / etc on this new Western Digital 2TB external USB drive.
I would like to if possible to access all the stored content on this new Western Digital 2TB external USB drive using 2 of the computers shown below.....
Computer 1 – running Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon
Computer 2 – running Mac OS X Mojave 10.14.6I’m still a bit hazy as to which format protocol to use to re format this new USB external drive to allow it to be fully useable on both computer 1 and 2.
I think I can use any of the above 3 computers to re format the new drive .
The new drive is still in its box and I have not yet plugged it into any computer.
I’m looking for advice as I don’t want to end up messing up the new external drive and in the end making it unusable.????.
Thanks.
You have a Windows OS so would suggest initially checking the format on that .

Oh no president Biden has much more important things to do than go after a failed ex president that’s the doj,s job and I’m sure they are just licking their chops oh boy oh boy old donalds gonna reap what he’s sown
Given that Biden has affirmed he will not "interfere" with actions taken by the DOJ certainly does not rule out some severe raking through the *hit pile in due course.

I wonder if Trump's remaining enablers ever stop to consider a history of people not being paid for services rendered and the retribution for asking for it ?

I am amazed how many people expect there to be a limitless supply of vaccine available that Thailand could have secured instant massive supply simply by putting up the cash. I am guessing the strategy was to minimize urgent need which, despite all the blowhard comment about massive deceptions etc , they were successful in achieving up until now. In countries such as the US supplies are numbered in several hundreds of thousands rather than the millions desirable for an immediate impact in a large population.
Thailand in in the queue and has some promise of additional alternatives while for the moment at least has a relatively small number of infections resulting in urgent hospitalizations.
The apparent low key response may be open to question but something must be working given the potential disaster from the Mai Sai/Myanmar seems to have been averted so far. The larger outbreak associated with the Seafood Market also shows some promise in containment on any exponential scale.
The almost gleeful derision emanating from some over this outbreak IMO is typically selfish and puerile at best ! ????

Went last last minute shopping today . Came home rather puzzled. Two large complexes we went to had LESS screening than last week ! And they were busier than last week.
Very strange.

Just a thought......
Are you doing a FULL format or a QUICK format?
The Windows 10 default is Quick Format (Don't know about W 8 - never used it)
Thing is, a Quick format doesn't really format the entire surface - quite a good explanation HERE
If I was changing the type of format between NTFS to/from ex-FAT or FAT I would always do a full format - in fact when I buy a new drive I do anyway - my latest acquisition, a 5TB WD Passport was left formatting overnight.
For those who mentioned WD drives - I can heartily recommend them - I've had more than a dozen over the years - all still going strong!
And... @sometime The response to your comment about HD size/capacity is here
EG, See my screenshot above: my drive was sold as 1TB - in reality, as you can see, I get 931GB after formatting. Some would say it's cheating, but that's how it is and has always been.
Yes, was attempting full format. Win 8.0/8.1 is exact same as Win10 for this and other functions.

I don't know, maybe something got lost in translation because I'm not a native English speaker, but wasn't this your post?
Ok. I understand that my wording lead to show to some confusion. My intention was to say there is no evidence to disprove Milk Thistle is ineffective . There is some evidence that it is effective to some degree.
Modern conventional medical science has a problem with not being able to identify specific components of effectiveness and so tends to decry significance.

That is also what I said in my post, you should try to read it again, that alternatives MAY reduce the risk of potential damage.
As for your claim that there is inconclusive evidence that conventional medicines can reduce the risk, where is your irrefutable evidence that natural products are effective?

Did I claim there is "inconclusive" evidence? There is some evidence that claims for such as Milk Thistle do have efficacy therefore there is no cause to decry such claims.A simple example: https://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/milk-thistle-benefits-and-side-effects#1

Thw president of these schools said this. How can the teachers be expected to have a healthy attitude, when the director is a half man, without any willingness to take any responsibility?
“We don’t need more meetings,” Piboon said. “I’m afraid it will end up like the red shirts today. What’re they cheering about? They’re not showing courtesy. They’re not willing to fix it.”
“They just want to win,” he went on. “Please give the school an opportunity to address it. We come in peace and I would like to apologize to the parents.”
You have failed both the parents and the students, repeatedly.
Is it that hard to find a decent school here? I would transfer my kid in a nanosecond. They don't deserve the patronage.
And of course if it had not eventuated in the exposure of events there would have been no incentive at all to "address the problem " !

I guess you missed this crucial line in my post
liver damage is irreparable once it has occurred.
Perhaps so in conventional medical opinion. However that does not refute some claims that herbal/natural products can at least reduce risk potential damage initially that "conventional " alternatives do not or can not due to inconclusive evidence. Is that a good reason to decry or refute ?

I have done a lot of research on this in the past, not for alcohol but eventual use of oral steroids, and I have also talked about this with a doctor who is a good friend.
What I found is that liver damage is irreparable once it has occurred.
There are additives, like milk thistle and others, that can help in preventing damage or make it less likely.
Of course there are always the alternative medicine advocates that claim that big pharma is hiding things, but show me proof of many thousands of people that had their liver healed this way.
I'm sure someone will be here soon to claim that marijuana is the perfect medicine for liver damage
So can you show me a "Big Pharma" type of alternative that does better? There lies the crux of such debate.

It is a reason to applaud the application of anti corruption remedies .
What is eligible to "bash" is the selective application .
Given that the majority of Thai are victim to corruption and avoidance of legal process does not mean they would not welcome even for themselves a genuine shift to the elimination of it.
It is not so much as "heads in sand" as it is repression and retaliation for not complying to and even to the extent of adopting the "norm".

Is Milk Thistle Good for the Liver?
There’s conflicting research on the benefits of milk thistle for liver health. It may have protective effects on the liver, preventing damage. There’s some evidence that milk thistle can treat cirrhosis and chronic hepatitis, which can be caused by alcohol abuse, autoimmune disease, or viruses. But experts say that the evidence isn’t conclusive.
Some studies also show milk thistle may help people whose liver is damaged by industrial toxins, such as toluene and xylene.
There is not enough scientific data to say whether or not milk thistle can help liver problems. Get the facts on milk thistle for the liver
https://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/milk-thistle-benefits-and-side-effects#1
If you are already taking herbal remedies with questionable veracity as a prophylaxis for liver ailments, then you already have a problem (and it's not in your liver).
Is that last line your own? There is little of genuine concern to indicate more than advisory caution with respect to some allergic reactivity that is no more than for anything more extraordinary than Kiwi fruit !
There is reasonable evidence to indicate it actually is somewhat effective as in claims about many herbal or natural items.
An extreme example is Manuka Honey from New Zealand which defies analytical explanation but which many times has been successful as a last resort for negating deadly bacterial resistant infections.
Time after time traditional ancient remedies have been proven to have justifiable merit. Denigrating them is more often than not in the interest of such as "Big Pharma" who have derived and concentrated effective components while claiming the "invention" or "creation" of them !
