No worries, just take Milk Thistle tabs every day, Google it.

I have been hitting the booze almost everyday since I was 17 (in the army, in Germany) I'm now in my late 60s, I regularly drink 6 or more large bottles of beer, followed maybe by some red wine or G n T, absolutely not bothered by all the non drinkers pontificating about the evils of alcohol, I tell my Mrs that I retired he to have fun and enjoy myself in my retirement & maybe last 10 years or so, that was in 2011, still going strong ????????????????

All good then. Is  your Mrs also having  <deleted>n ?

  2. I'm sorry if  I have created a topic that has unleashed some friction !

My news is that after several hours  my attempt to  change format from exFat to NTFS  has resulted in a  failure notified  by  Win 8.1 informing me that  it was "unable to complete the formatting".

At this  time I have not  yet attempted to see if it is now a  hybrid  ex-krap !

For those  who have an interest I do suspect it is  not genuine because an attempt to access  seagate product support using what appear to be  serial numbers or  product  numbers are not recognized.

However I have found that is not uncommon for  many products sold in the Asian market using US  based home sites because I have been lead to believe that Chinese  factories have " many doors to assist the production capacity to flow outwards" ! ????

I will try again tomorrow as my patience has been tried sufficiently  for  today.

If I have success I will provide  link detail to product  purchase origin.

I should add that if I had  not had need to  use this  on a Linux  os I think there would be no issues.

In that case it's likely due to not having a partition yet. Go ahead and reformat on your Windows computer. You could keep the file as exFAT, or you could change it to NTFS if you're going to be using it between different computers.

Don't worry about any warning messages.

Ok ! Thanks. I will try that. Hve been delayed due to a power cut so  now back online.

On your Linux machine- open a Terminal window from your applications menu. On Ubuntu and similar Linux distributions, type the following command and press Enter to install the appropriate packages. You’ll have to enter your password, too.

    sudo apt-get install exfat-fuse exfat-utils

On other Linux distributions, use the appropriate software-installation command or open the graphical user interface and look for the “exfat-fuse” and “exfat-utils” packages. They may be called something a bit different — search for “exfat” and you should find them.

After you’ve installed the appropriate software, you can just connect an exFAT drive to your computer and it will be mounted automatically.

If it’s already connected, just unplug the drive and plug it back in.

For Windows, go ahead and reformat. You can still use exFAT - it has no 4GB file transfer limit so it's a little better for larger file types.

Thanks for that. Unfortunately  my Linux os already has the utils but still will not access the drive. But on Windows OS is no problem. Given the warning contained I am wondering if it is a "genuine" risk to change format or if it  just some propagandist thing in defense of  Windows/ Microsoft compatible with exFAT.

  5. Have just purchased a Seagate  drive as described via  Lazada. On a Linux  system is detected but can not read or write  to because it is formatted  exFAT.

Read a Windows system it  contains a "read before use" warning   to NOT reformat which will render it  useless. Is that  true or  bogus in anyone's knowledge or experience?

It was only a little over 500 Bht  ( old stock) but my most used  OS is Linux which  can handle  NTFS  .

The leaked documents are from concerned CHINESE citizens working in the healthcare industry. Are you saying the Chinese Healthcare workers are US propagandists?

"leaked  documents" provided (directly ? ) to CNN .  A video clip fronted  by a Republican  member of Congress deflecting from the  abysmal  failure  of his  GOP at a time of political need  to save  face?

I am  not defending CCP.  I am questioning the  motivation behind the deflection and the continuation  of untruths in the process. Telling lies  about lies  simply  buries the truth  ever deeper.

  7. Sadly amusing to see that the "debate" has not altered much !

Well done Boris for achieving a deal  with a  Sunday to  spare!

Now that (as a previous poster put it) the end of the beginning is done and the term "Brexit" is redundant no doubt the customary wrangles of opinion will surface yet as to the impact but hopefully under a new title!

Four years of  media bashing needs the change.

My prediction is that UK defenders and dissenters will find some common ground in the rough ride ahead as the pinch is applied !

Good Luck and Seasons Greetings .

    Ah, fair enough.

There is some  suspicion about frozen or  refrigerated food packaging  potentially harboring the virus. Other than China claiming they have detected it on packaging I have not  seen any  overall confirmation  but it is accepted as possible. Eating food that may have it in/on is not considered a risk.
