  4. So when your 67 you won't get the government pension !! Worked hard all your life paying taxes and won't receive a cent back.
  5. I'm just wondering how much a average doctor in a hospital would get in a salary ? I'm thinking more Government hospitals? What about psychiatrists in Thailand do they earn much?
  6. How about you minimise the problem by exercising!!! Do something about it ,see a physiotherapist I see many of these fat old fools many younger than me especially fat middle-aged women using these Mobilty scooters !
  7. I think "visualisation" is the key Many bar owners obviously visualised whilst they were working their factory jobs etc back in their home country before they took control of a bar . I have visualised sitting on a leather seat with my leg crossed over my other one with a clipboard and pen listening to a patient and him calling me Doctor George
  8. Lately I have been thinking of re,-inventing myself now that I'm older than 60 I was coming home from work one evening last week ,sitting at a bus stop to see a guy shouting to himself and punching the air The person sitting next to me at the bus stop I overheard saying he needs a psychiatrist! And that got me thinking , as soon as I got home I started researching on how to be a psychiatrist and I stayed up all night and the very next morning at 8am on the dot called the University to try to find out how I can enrol Apparently it's a 6 year uni course it I wouldn't mind be called Doctor ! Doctor George , Consultant Psychiatrist! What about you ,did you "Re invent " yourself past 60 or when you retired? Talk to many bar owners in Thailand or Philippines etc and many were not in the bar industry previously but reinventing their lives Divorced ,traumas ,job lay offs ,many left their old life BEHIND
  9. I guess he should "up" his budget as gets towards 80 though .
  10. I didn't think the Nirun Apartments had a gym, No you done absolutely well in retirement buying your 21sqm room to sit in every day considering you didn't work all your life , enjoy your retirement 👍😁
  11. Mid 50's Means he should budget to say 83 So 30 years If he intends to get a Government pension at 67 (UK) Australia Average living 600,000 baht a year
  12. Probably you should of posted this to the "Australian section of the Forum🇦🇺" because Fred sitting in the cold woods of Alaska has no interest in Australia 🦘 But here's my take as a Aussie I support Woolworths decision,I despise Australia day every January, apart from a public holiday it has no relevance Drunken bogans , etc We have nothing anymore to be proud of the country is a shambles Immigrant criminal gangs in Sydney Indigenous crime in rural cities A failing health system High taxes Despite myself being a white skinned Aboriginal I still was abused by a black skinned Aboriginal walking the streets a couple of times for no reason. And they do become abusive I'm recognised and identify as Aboriginal and I'm abused passing in a street by black Aboriginal people thinking obviously I'm "white" I don't like this country I will be glad to get out !
  13. Well I am hoping not to go to a hospital as a patient! Being close to a hospital is not really on my list as a requirement,I guess being close to a Doctor could be Must be medical services in MHS ?
  14. Don't know if I spelt it right but anyway who cares.... I havent been there since 2008 Im thinking of retirement there I remember driving from Chiang main a rented car Went thru Pai etc Is Pai still have a lot of Muslim residents ? And backpackers Anyway my question is about Mai Hong Son ,? I'm sick of that dry Isaan area I want to move to the North West Maybe a small house with a garden in Mai Hong Son or Pai I liked the cooler weather, but I think houses are expensive near that big lake ? Who is retiring in MHS or Pai? Anyone know about life and real estate there

  19. I have put this in the Pub section because I want to know if any of you guys have done it or did it The art of MEDITATION I asked a friend overseas on WhatsApp today he got confused with the other M word.masterbstion I did try it today to music, meditation that is , , but unfortunately my thoughts drifted back to what I would be doing this week I'm not talking about sitting in the Lotus position chanting You are supposed to not think of anything If you don't meditate are you a "overthinker" Has meditation even helped you with your anxiety? It might not even be true ,there's no evidence of course

  21. I hope someone like that dies I remember a few years ago in the country side of Australia I had rented a vehicle and was driving on a country road A ute behind me was tailgating me so I instead of overtaking they tailgating me , I pulled over to let them pass ,one drunk guy giving me the finger 🖕as he went past. Up ahead I saw it had overturned ,it was a country road . I stopped hopped out to see the guy hanging upside down. He was looking at me , putting his hand out for help I saw his wallet on the floor (roof) and took it , thanks I said , don't stay out here too long ,the kangaroo could eat you , remember Karma is a bitch I said to him ,he was hanging upside down in the car Then I drove off with his wallet
