Is that a good idea OP to post.
Surely now your customers who might of ordered now may well wait till you start the other promos.
Could cost you immmediate buisiness don't you think ?
-

Guess this has been covered before but I plan to go to china in the next month or so for a few days .
UK passport holder , guess I need to go to the Chinese Embassy in BKK ?
Anyone done this recently or be kind be kind enough to post info or a link to previous threads .
On the TV app cant figure out the search function unless it brings up 100s of irrelevant posts.
Cheers in advance

This tunnel is a death trap. Poorly designed with just 3 lanes (not 4 as you would expect) and absolutely no safety division between the lanes. I have seen concrete mixers gunning through there at full speed. In fact everything goes through there at full speed with no margin for error. I prefer to avoid it.
Just open your high beams as you approach and leave them on, also leave your hand on the honker and as soon as you feel like someone is about to cross the line by just a mm, start honking them hard and they might remember that the high beams in their face is someone and not just a mirage.
Works for me, usually have 2-3 guys over the lane each time and they all snap back(always almost hitting the side wall)
Also they'll never need to change the lanes. The weekend market intersection is always jam packed.
Seems to me Bearpolar ,
You might be safe but with those actions and by your own admission your making it multiple times worse when you drive through for others.

Anns Kitchen in the Boat Avenue complex in Laguna ,
Been a few times now over the past few months and have to say the service has been excellent as well as the food , have tried the burger , fish and chips ( proper crispy batter and home made chips / mushy peas ) best item ive had so far has been the Piri Piri Chicken.
Definately worth a call in if your nearby.

Are they really heavily taxed...isn't it more that food items are heavy and are relatively low value items? Therefore, shipping and handling them over long distances (many in refrigerated transport) makes them expensive. In any case, whatever the cost, it's cheaper than airfare back "home."
But why heavily tax imported items that you have no interest in manufacturing yourself,I fail to see how this protects their own markets, this is what I could never understand.I dont see any reason why imported items should not continue to be heavily taxed here. Thailand is a very protectionist country.
What gets me most here is not the price but the pathetic choice of items, even those that are made here.
I was in Cambodia and Vietnam recently and stood in awe at goods that I had not seen ever in my 7 years in Thailand.
The only things I've seen in Cambodia that I don't find in Thailand are Dr. Pepper and Cherry Coke ☺
Both are availiable in Villa Market @ 45thb a can and have been for years.

If you shouldn't buy property in Thailand, and shouldn't do business in Thailand, what are you lot doing here?
Well for me (amongst other members of TV), bought a property and have a buisiness .
So it is possible OP just come up with a viable buisiness that suits You.
-
mmmm.... Ill let the contributors to this thread reply to the above post... I might get myself a TV holiday if I replied.....
-
OP its been a long day posting , go have yourself a beer ,
-
Your gonna be busy on this thread I fear Ubonjoe

Moved to the business forum.
Hello, can you delete the thread please?
Cheers
Now that really is the best idea youve had all day.
Agree this thread should be closed it certainly does not belong in the buisiness forum.
-
^ you really are starting to sound like a t.w.at now.
And your right some guys are not " as stupid " some are considerably more , any ideas who that might be OP ?
-
^^ ergh ,
Turning out to be arragant as well as young now.
You come on TV for advice as it seems to me you have absolutley no frickin idea about buisiness in the least let alone here.
Take your attitude and open up your dam bar , at least youll be gone within a few months and we wont need to read your nieve dribble anymore.
-
What are qualified at?
What experience do you have ?
What attributes do you have ?
Where do you believe your talents could be utalised ?
Among many other questions you should ask yourself therein will be your answer.
And no its far from impossible to run a successfull buisiness in Thailand , you just need the right attributes to succeed where others have failed.
Why dont you ask "your" buisiness lawyer for an idea , he seems like a great chap for advice after him telling you the bar was a great one.
Lol....
Enjoy your (extended) holiday and as you have time on your hands work out a bloody buisiness plan !! They kind of help !!
-
Wonder if the OP is going to listen to concensus of opinion after asking for advice , or will he go ahead anyway ?
If you do go ahead OP let us all know , for some strange reason we never hear back from ideas like this . I wonder why that is ?
But I really do you wish the best , after owning a buisiness here for some 12 years although you may not like the advice I have given personally its an opinion given to a stranger to try and save him his $$$.
But when all said and done its your call .
-
^^ you make a good point impulse.
I suppose a 5k loss is easy to handle.
Any bets on how long ?
I originally said 6 months at the start of this thread but reading the OPs latest idea of giving the 5k to however the bar owner is can I change my mind to 6 weeks.
-
OP can you not see how daft this is ???
Please tell me your not gonna give him the $$$ and think you'll be half owner of the bar .
-
^^ oh dear ,
15 years running the bar and does not have 150kthb saved .
Must be a popular and profitable bar don't you think ?
-
^^ also
company registration ,
Non B visa
2 or 4 registered Thai staff depending on company structure.
Tax and NI contributions each month.
Accountant fees.
Correct licences
Fees to BIB
Etc
