Agree with you that it is perhaps unfair that the agent is trying to make so much.

But to play devils advocate , if you were happy to accept the final amount offered before you became aware of this , and the fact you can sell your condo in the marketplace at the moment would it not be fair to say just sell it and let the agent keep the difference and be happy that its sold and to also remember tou did agree on the figure before the additonal profit to the agent was apparant ?

OK - this might seem crazy - but how many times have you bought something that has .5 of a baht on the price.

Milk is always 45.5 or 50.5. Then they tell you they have no 50 sattang coins to give you back in your change.

A damned lie....if they do this with every customer the 0.5 bahts soon add up.

It happend to me 3 times in a row in the same shop and I let rip and handed back the bottle of milk and demanded my money back.

Lots of sheepish inane grins (Thai smiles) losing face ...and from then on, I now make sure I buy products that come to a round number.

It would be easy for shops to have several hundred customers in a day. Say 500 and they ripped 250 of them off this way... thats 125 baht a day equals 3,500 baht in a month...enough for Thai people to rent a room for a month with.....0.5 goes a long way...

It's crazy when you can't get a glass of wine or beer at wine connection between 2pm and 5pm at Chalong. It's a law gone mad.

Are you sure ? This rule does not apply to restuarants and hotels. Only to shops.

Very sure. I don't go there for late lunch anymore due to the restriction.

Clearly Wine Connction manager at Chalong is interpreting the law/rule incorrectly.

Same with religious holidays. Restuarant staff don't know how the rule applies. A little Italian place I sometimes have lunch served me a wine with my meal on a religious holiday, owner came along and took the glass from me worried that he would be closed down. And they still charged the wine on the bill. Never been back.

And was the same for the WC in Jungceylon a few months ago , all around selling alcohol except them.

We were there @ 3pm and they were not selling.

Not sure if its the same now but for certain they were not providing alcohol when we visited.

True, and there would be a huge black market in knocked off passports down Nana Plaza otherwise.

Not the plaza , but in case you missed the news a month or so back , one of the worlds biggest illegal knocked off passport operations was busted in BKK after operating for years
