I opened an account at K bank. Rama 9 branch a few years ago. The manager was a nice fellow. Only showed my passport with my Non O and stay to date page. I have had 2 different Bkk bank accounts. One in Korat, that I closed, and one here opened at Rama 9. I have used Bkk bank for over 10 years. Deposited many thousands of baht per year. But that made no difference when I went to the Em Quartier branch to open a new account. I want a account just to use to make my monthly deposits. BUT, I was told that I had to have a letter from my Embassy. The clerk showed me the bank rules on her PC and even showed me an example of what she wanted. The manage came over and confirmed, .. Said my Embassy had to certify my passport or something like that. Made no difference that I have, or had in the past had, an account with that bank now. bs!!!!

Bit off topic, but, If I send money to my Kbank account, using Wise, will it show as funds transferred from abroad? I checked the box to indicated "to fund long term visa" or whatever it says, .....but it shows funds will arrive in seconds, ...not the next day at 2pm like Bangkok Bank. I would like to try the one year statement from this bank if it is coded the way TI demands.

I did my extension 2 weeks ago. My turn came up with a sour TIO (Thai Immigration Officer) Required paperwork included.: A one year statement from Bkk Bank. Order a week earlier. I also had updated my pass book after the 12 monthly deposits. She, the TIO, wanted copies of all pages plus the front page of all 3 pass books. Was told that TI, or she, would only accept a statement printed by the bank.

Rates seem reasonable. 1220 USD per year. Inpatient. I hate phone calls, so I will see what you people have to say,,,if anything,.. before investigating further. Thanks.
