Cambodian woman caught begging in Bangkok with three children
JohnOFphon replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Why don't they swoop in and catch the black women selling.....?.....near Soi Cowboy....?? -
Neither one should be elected President. Trump is a self serving idiot and Harris is Aunty K to Uncle Joe. So sad.

For the last 5 years I have been sending money here during the first week of the month. Wise gives me the date it will deposit and it always arrives just after 2pm. Every time. Yesterday..Monday...2 pm...no money...I checked with Wise..no problem. The web site shows a normal transfer. Same as before. All details the same. I downloaded the receipt and went to Bkk bank. No help there. Told to check again on Wednesdays as it takes 3 days for transfers...BS...never before. It is just me...or???
-
I do the same, but have them shipped to my friends house first. He opens the package and takes out any receipts or indications of price. Repackages and writes "used" on the customs label. No customs fees. ..I think the fees are about 10%???

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I am nearing the end of my Non O retirement, permission to stay. One year is up in Oct. I have well over 400K in an account just for immigration purposes...more than 6 months over 400 already. So just show up a week or two before expiration. Wife in tow. Marriage doc..Her Id..passport. Tm 86? and all the paper work and copies I would have to take if added a year for retirement. Take a copy of the rental agreement in both our names just in case. Thanks Doc.

International Driver's permit...aka license. In my home country I would only be able to get a 1 year permit. From what I have found, if I apply now., it would be valid for 1 year or until my current Thai 5 year license expires. My permission to stay date is not an issue.
-
I called Bang Chack office to ask about a 1 year international Driver's permit. Couldn't get a clear answer. So....my current Thai 5 year license expires in 15 months, so that's good. BUT my permission to stay expires Nov. 31 this year. If I get the required residence letter and go to the license office next week....will I get a 1 year license...or..a license that is only good until my current permission to stay expires??

Biden to Grant Legal Status to Undocumented Spouses of US Citizens
JohnOFphon replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Good ole Uncle Joe. Everyones friend. Legal or not. Don't need a Visa. -
Maybe they think that if they take 6 months to reimburse, many Vets will die of old age before they have a chance to cash the check. 🤒
-
About the American VA Foreign Medical Program. I am not impressed so far. I filed a claim for reimbursement on 28th March, this year. First time, for a new disability that IS included in my Benefits Authorization page. I sent the claim by email with all the forms I think they wanted and did receive an automatic reply talking about the dates I could expect action. 60 days had passed when I sent a email asking about the status of my claim. I got a reply one or two days later saying they couldn't find a claim from me on, or near, that date. The person who answered my email asked for more information, such as the name of the hospital..address and amount I paid. I replied almost 2 weeks ago and didn't get a reply...other than the automatic message. I sent another email 2 days ago asking if they found anything....no reply..yet. I did list a US address on the form for them to send to...because sending here to Thailand can take over 2 weeks. I filed two more claims , one in April and one in June. Not a word from them about the status...just the automatic reply that says that claims take 2 months or more. Question: Does anyone have any positive experience with FMP? How long do they take and do they let you know what's going on...other than the auto reply?

Tourist Visa to USA for Thai GF
JohnOFphon replied to trav2021's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
Just fly to Mexico, or a nearby country that will allow her in and then find a way to the Rio Grand and wade across the river. No one will stop her. When ready to leave, retrace your steps and fly back. Wish I were joking..- 73 replies

Extension of visa for retirement at CW
JohnOFphon replied to oldestswinger's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
About the 3 months after extension is granted. I had an emergency and drew 150.000K out of the 800K one month before the 3 month date. But, every month I transfer in over 65K to the bank account I use only for immigration. Every 3 months I go to Bangkok Bank and get credit advices that cover deposits made for those months. I will have more than one years worth on my next extension visit. The 800K is back in the account 4 months before the next visit...but there is that early withdrawl. I read somewhere that credit advices.(.free)...are as good as a bank statement..when using the monthly transfer method. Yea or nay -
When I was 15, I bought my first rifle. 22 Caliber 15 shot tube feed. Real nice gun. My friends and I would go out into the dessert and shot rabbits and birds, and the occasional diamond back rattle snake. Since we couldn't drive legally, we would stand at the side of the road leading out of town. Stick out thumbs out,,,,and someone would pull over and give us a ride. Cross over the Pecos river and walk away from the road We were all carrying guns. and the drivers could see them. Just felt like reminiscing good ole days.

What happens if,or when, I die in Thailand?
JohnOFphon replied to JohnOFphon's topic in General Topics
I'll tell my gf to go to our favorite bar in Soi Cowboy and ring the bell, one time. -
I remember reading something about this a while back, but search didn't help. I have some heart issues that might, or could be, fatal. I have bank accounts in bkk bank and one in Kbank. One account in bkk bank is for immigration purpose, no ATM card. I don't own anything here and the bank accounts are all in my name only. Balance around 2 million. I have a live in girlfriend that has been with me for over a year. I trust her....famous last words I know..haha Anyway, I have shown her all she needs to know on how to move my money online. I mean from my accounts to hers,,,,if I die. The rental agent here knows of my visits to the hospital this month, and I told her why I was going. Now, she has told my girlfriend that if I die, she can not transfer money out of my accounts...legally. Told her the police would arrest her and make her return the money to the bank....I say BS...but???? I don't have a will here, but I think we will see if we can remedy that. Anyone have knowledge or experience that would be useful? Thank you.
