  1. A silinar incident happend to someone I knew in Australia. Fell through a balcony and busted her arm badly, requiring a metal plate to be inserter in her forearm. She got a large payout (I think 100K+AU) form the government as the house was her mother'd government house (and the bad railing had been previously reported but not fixed).
  2. No, there is no chance of the v6 diesel being released in the Thai market.
  3. PTT premium is also be 7. But PTT, along with Bangchak (Leaf), meet Euro 5 standards, so have a lower sulfur content. This helps with dpf longevity. think most tucks in Thailand are still Euro 4. Only a few like diesel benz and bmw use premium. My crv also used premium, but it can run on normal b7.
  4. I doubt there will be any forced vaccintion - even in my school, as long as 80% of students and teachers are vaccinated, the school can open. Even an antivaxxer foreign teacher was not made to vaccinate (despite protests from her students when they found out about it.
  5. That's 18 months out of date. Children certainly do catch and spread the virus within schools and their families.
  6. We can only draw conclusions about severity when we see further spread across the globe. I dont think we can draw conclusion from South Africa, as their population has largely been exposed to the virus already (and vastly under reported, at that) and many of the vulnerable have already perished. In contrast, most Australians have not been exposed to the virus, so we will see how the death rate goes there over the next month or so. If it turns out that the death rate is less than that caused by (historic) annual flu, then countries should really open up.
  7. Did I mis-read the article? I thought the article was stating that the new civic hatchback (11th gen) would not be sold in Thailand.
  8. This was never the point. Omicron will overload hsopitals very quickly if left to run unabated (even if 10x less pathogenic than delta). It's the second more transmissible virus, behind measles. Just watch the US numbers over the next few weeks.
  9. I don't think the 3.0 is confirmed for Thailand as yet. I've only seen the 2.0 mentioned in the press.
  10. So they are not too old then. The rubber will harden over time. With new tires if you can press your finger nail easily into the tread, I would consider them still useabe. This would be difficult to do with hardened tires.
  11. How old are th tires? At this mileage they will perform nothing like new tires. Is the tread still soft? My tread is noticeably harder after 38K kms (on a crv). Still plenty of tread and breaking still ok. Unless you are really strapped for cash, you should change them.
  12. No, it's not a flu. It's a coronavirus. Totally different. Expect mask wearing until immunity bulids up sufficiently in the population. It may take another 1-3 years.
  13. 1) Omicron has arrived in the UK earlier than Thailand. 2) There are almost no controls on the spread of he virus in the UK. It will spread in Thailand but at a slower rate, at least intially, as most are still wearing masks. If the numbers rise significantly, ecpect more lockdowns - shut schools and businesses.
  14. What will never change is many moaning farangs that cannot adapt to Thailand and it's driving conditions. I personally hav no problems driving here and have never had a problem in 20 years and 500K+ kms. Never had an accident, and have never been hit by someone.
  15. You can teach (in a school / university), unless you are on a retirement visa. Most of the English teachers in Thailand now are non-native speakers - mainyl thanks to increasing teaching requirments and salaries that have stagnated for 15-20 years.
  16. How many millions of motorcycles are on the road in the UK? You need to take this into account, as 80% of the deaths here are those on motorcycles.
  17. My entire school and staff were asked to test Sunday night? That is over 1000 people. And I'm sure many other schools are doing this. Ive had tests over the span of a month. But none of these negatives are reported to the government. Only the positive results. There would be hundreds of thousands of atk's done daily here. A coupel of thousand positive atk's is nothing.
  18. So, the same rule as we use in Australia - give way to traffic already on the rounabout. I wonder if any questions on this are in the licence test here. I wouls say at least half of the drivers treat it like an intersection.
  19. I dn't think 360 camera is worth fitting if a car does not have one. Not sure how easily it can be done, and it would not be cheap if it could be. It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. ut looking at cars at the motor show, my wife noticed the larger cup holders in the civic compared to the honda city. There's priorities for ya LOL
