  1. Blockign a whole lane in peak hour traffic causes chaos. That's why a lot of this kind of roadwork is done at night.
  2. The front scoop is the problem - it's reported as a problem in the swift groups I am in. I'm not sure about how much lower the skirts are though. These are the dressup kids they sell with the car, as you know. In some models you can take the cash discount instead.
  3. We've never had clearance problems in our swift. Are the roads that bad? I was glad to be in our crv with the recent floods. Many smaller cars drowned in it. Perhaps consider a higher car?
  4. I asked my son about this th other day. He is Thai. He just said it's for "social reasons". They are wearing masks because everyone else is wearing them, an noone dares to be the odd one out. I've seen a few Thais without masks in Central. Mainly young ones. Just about ALL foreigners are not wearing them and don't even have one in sight. It could take 3-5 years to get back to some sense of normality. Even my school refuses to follow the new MoE regulations about no need to use masks, social distancing, etc, just to please the parents (yet the kids are catching covid at home and not school!) Yet they did not require all teachers to get vaccinated to keep their jobs. The mind boggles.
  5. The ford ecosport may also be worth a look. https://indianauto.com/stories/ford-ecosport-shows-incredible-water-wading-capacity-nid3084#:~:text=In fact%2C with water wading,mm and 550 mm respectively.
  6. Try this facebook page for lots of engines. I see a honda jazz engine on their page. G.yong racing shop https://web.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100057277186548
  7. I went to bigger tires on standard rims on our swift. They were pilot sport tires and had amazing grip in the wet over stock. I haven't experienced any negative effects on steering or suspension with that set up. The only extra money we have spent on that car in 10 years was the air cond evaporator. If going to bigger wheels, I'd look for lightweight ones if possible. I'm getting old so prefer my comfort from higher ratio tires.
  8. Acceleration can also be affected. There is a 1/2 second difference between the honda civic rs hev with 18 inch wheels vs the el+ model with the 17". The rest of the car is basically the same (rs a little heavier but not by much).
  9. That's unfortunate.. you can also try https://www.facebook.com/lumheaderrama3 https://www.facebook.com/jtctitanium
  10. They are complaining about having to use this muddy road, as they laid out their rice to dry on the main road. ????
  11. I can only think that it would cost more than the current petrol raptor if it has the same spec. It's a shame, as the diesel is being produced here for overseas markets. Maybe wait a year or 2 when the current owners offload their 4km/l raptors for a good price:) Definitiely a v6 diesel in a wildtrak at about 1.4-1.5m makes a lot of sense.
  12. Is there anyone 60+ working in government schools? Their Thai staff retire at 60. In private schools they can employ anyone at any are that can carry out their duties? I have known teachers in the past in their 70's who were teaching in my private school. So you can definiitley get a work permit at 60+, but it may be up to the employer and their regulations.
  13. These guys may have what you want: https://www.youtube.com/c/MAXTRKSPEED
  14. Yes there are parts supply issues. The city ehev has been out months and i can count on one hand how many I've seen on the road. Another poster may be able to provide more info.
  15. Consider the availablilty of spare parts also. There are plenty of ecocars for around 250K on the market.
  16. ALL kid need to learn how to sound the horn in case this happens. Even young kids should be able to do this and they should all be taught how to do it.
  17. Our Thai homeroom teachers always follow up about absent students. And this is M3. I've also noticed one of the drivers checking under the seats after a recent field trip - and this was after older students who could not fit under a seat alighted from the van. I'm assuming this is happening with the small kids too.
  18. No idea...but I would say only about 1/10 of my students have had diagnosed covid - that is, perhaps 2-3 students per class. Byt they test each Sunday by atk and wear masks at school.
  19. That probably refers to Thai goverment schools. But private schools can have english taught exclusively by foreign teachers. We have no Thai english teachers (and we are under OBEC). It's an EP.
  20. The raptor is indeed 397PS but was dyno'd in Thailand and gave about 307. Thats about a 22% loss that sounds about right for an auto. No need to buy a mustang 2.3. The raptor is 2.5tonnes.
  21. I mean put the v6 diesel in a lower spec'd ranger (or even a lower sped'd raptor), to keep it a peg below the petrol raptor. I bet that diesel v6 in the raptor (instead of the petrol v6) would push 2m baht. the v6 diesel could go in the current wildtrak, for about 1.4-1.5m. People would buy it.
