The upgrade is from the forum software provider. All forums have to adopt the change.

You are correct, AN isn't a huge target, but the some other sites using the same forum software are.

The other issue, of course, is that people do tend to reuse passwords.

Gain access to an innocuous forum. Find out the email address. Try the same password on the email account. Hijack the email account. Reset other passwords to the email address. On and on.

AN currently has 8 reactions. This is quite a lot compared to other online platforms.

Ultimately AN is a discussion forum, not an emoji forum.

If there isn't an emoji that expresses your opinion then feel free to type a reply and tell people what your think.

Perhaps you are thinking about fire recall mode, which requires power.

If a lift has no power and no brakes then it will tend to overspeed.

What most people don't realise is that in the majority of instances the lift would overspeed upwards, and stop at the top of the lift shaft.

Honestly, I think this is a you thing. Perhaps use a password manager? Chrome will offer to remember your passwords if you are signed in.

@Mutt Daeng If you dig into your browser settings you may find a whitelist option.

Using it is optional.

You can disable third party cookies but then add a site to the whitelist. Doing this will allow third party cookies from the specified site(s), but will disallow all other third party cookies.

Using this option takes a little effort, but it allows you to dictate which third party cookies you allow  rather than allowing all third party cookies.

I don't like adverts and tracking either, so for me it's a balancing act between being private and being frustrated.

Do you have third party cookies disabled? If you do then Cloudflare will not be able to recognise your repeated actions (such as viewing a new page or trying to post).

This is because when you successfully pass Cloudflare security it adds a third party cookie to your device which enables you to bypass any future challenges (normally for 24 hours).

Instead Cloudflare will see you as a new (untrusted) visitor and challenge you. Every single time.

Just a thought.

Notifications don't show all of your past posts.

Click the three horizontal lines at the top right of the page. Then click 'Activity'. Next click 'My Activity Streams'.

You will then be able to select unread content, followed content, content you started or posted in, etc.

When a topic is pinned it remains at the top of the first page, regardless of when the topic was started and regardless when the last comment was made.

Staff pin topics that they deem too important to slowly slip down the page.

It's often easier to change your UK name to match your Thai name. You can do this for free using an unenrolled deed poll.

Once you have changed your UK passport, use this to change your UK driving license.

Then use your unenrolled deed poll, UK passport and UK driving license to change everything else, such as banking, bills, pensions, etc.

Remember you don't have to rush about doing everything at once. Just do one thing at a time and make progress.

Sad and Confused emojis were replaced for all members on all device types with the Heart-broken and Thumbs Down emojis.

Yes you would be able to go to Special Branch and spoilt for clearance, however it currently takes about 3 weeks to process the application.
