Walz Criticized Over Military Service Claims- ABC News
Mazungu replied to Hanaguma's topic in Political Soapbox
Did Walz go around bragging he had gone to war? How many times did he do that? This brouhaha is over a statement he made once in 2018. Here's the text and clip below. He misspoke when making a point about gun safety. The Harris campaign has acknowledged he did so. I don't think the majority of Americans are going to disqualify him over one remark. "I spent 25 years in the Army and I hunt. I’ve been voting for common sense legislation that protects the Second Amendment, but we can do background checks. We can research the impacts of gun violence. We can make sure those weapons of war, that I carried in war, are only carried in war." https://x.com/i/status/1820918063966962143 -
Walz Criticized Over Military Service Claims- ABC News

So in April 2004 Walz returns home after spending a year on an overseas deployment. In late 2004 (your source) or early 2005 (my source) Walz is informed of a possible but unconfirmed deployment to serve in Iraq within the next two years. Military service is honorable and difficult but to expect National Guard troops to put their lives on hold for 2 years (especially after already serving 24 years) is a bit extreme. I think most rational people would agree. https://taskandpurpose.com/news/swift-boat-walz/ March 2005: Walz’s newly-formed campaign for a Congressional House seat releases a press release that indicates Walz is aware of a possible but unconfirmed deployment, though no official orders have been announced. “The National Guard Public Affairs Office announced a possible partial mobilization of roughly 2,000 troops from the Minnesota National Guard,” the press release said. “The announcement from the National Guard PAO specified that all or a portion of Walz’s battalion could be mobilized to serve in Iraq within the next two years… -

Captain Bone Spurs has never respected the military or veterans. Here he is totally disrespecting the military by saying the Presidential Medal of Freedom (given to civilians) is better than the Congressional Medal of Honor (given to soldiers alive or dead for the highest act of bravery). And he's bragging he gave the Presidential Medal of Freedom to one of his billionaire donors. Shameful! -
I agree. There is something wrong with a boss when his subordinates describe him in these terms: Former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Trump had the understanding of “a fifth- or sixth-grader.” Former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly called Trump “an idiot” and said he thought the president was “unhinged.” Omarosa Manigault Newman called Trump a “racist, misogynist and bigot.” Former National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster said Trump was a “dope” with the intelligence of a “kindergartner.” Former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon said Trump was “like an 11-year-old child.” Former National Security Advisor John Bolton said of Trump, “I don’t think he’s fit for office. I don’t think he has the competence to carry out the job.” Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called Trump a "f..ing moron." https://www.politico.com/story/2018/09/04/trumps-insults-idiot-woodward-806455 https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trumps-former-national-security-adviser-calls-him-unfit-to-lead-trump-calls-him-a-liar/2020/06/18/e7d29074-b175-11ea-8f56-63f38c990077_story.html https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2019/05/trump-tillerson-feud-over-who-is-dumber-than-a-rock https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trumps-former-national-security-adviser-calls-him-unfit-to-lead-trump-calls-him-a-liar/2020/06/18/e7d29074-b175-11ea-8f56-63f38c990077_story.html

"It is rare for Cabinet members to not support the president they served. They are normally some of a president’s most loyal supporters. But in the case of Trump’s Cabinet, these uniquely qualified insiders — spanning from the vice president and chiefs of staff to more than a dozen agencies, such as Agriculture, Commerce, Homeland Security and Transportation — are deeply divided about whether he should return to power." https://www.yahoo.com/news/maddow-blog-half-trump-former-180249206.html

I hope she does do three. And I hope you Trumpsters keep underestimating her. She didn't just fall out of a coconut tree. She has been a local prosecutor, Attorney General of California, a Senator from California, and Vice President of the Unites States. And she was on her college debate team. And she's up against an angry old whiner that doesn't know how to react to reality. Maybe the false FOX narrative has suckered you all in.

He wasn't a convicted felon then. The Prosecutor versus the Felon has changed the ballgame.

Everyone likes her now because after 8 years of Trump the Dems see someone capable of taking the fight to Trump. The Dems (and independents) are tired of the Trump shtick...his name calling, lying, bullying, boasting, etc. There were a lot of double haters that didn't want to see a rematch of two old men. Now there is joy and excitement that the dark days of Trump may finally be ending.

He didn't have a peaceful transfer of power He didn't have the largest inauguration crowd ever He didn't have the greatest economy ever He didn't almost die in a helicopter crash with Willie Brown He didn't have sex with Stormy Daniels (oops my bad he did) He didn't call dead American soldiers "suckers" and "losers" (oops my bad again, he did) etc. etc. etc.

I'm sure JD loved his friend mak mak.

Haven't seen him as a pirate or cowboy yet...but one where he's wearing a communist hammer & sickle. He's trashed Trump but now loves him. He trashes the left as communists but yet wears the hammer & sickle. He dress up in drag but trashes the LGBQ community. The guy has changed his name at least three times. The guy is weird and shady.

MAGA influencers say Trump is on track to lose the election
Mazungu replied to shdmn's topic in Political Soapbox
I agree that's a good strategy. Let the other side keep putting their foot in their mouth. I hope Harris keeps driving the right crazy by not doing any interviews and just let Trump keep shooting himself in the foot. -
The right wants to call Walz Tampon Tim. The real story here is Compassionate Tim. The Minnesota law doesn't specify in which bathrooms the menstrual supplies must be located. It requires school districts to develop plans to ensure all students who menstruate can access free tampons and pads. It's unclear how many transgender children could benefit from free menstrual supplies, the impact is mostly felt by the millions of girls who experience so-called "period poverty" or the inability to afford pads and tampons. About one in four teenagers who menstruate struggle to pay for period products, according to the advocacy group Alliance for Period Supplies. So again there is no such thing as a "Compassionate Conservative."

I agree. That's probably why Harris has taken an 8 point lead.

Good idea. 👍
