The basics are a must but I credit the longevity of the relationship with my Thai partner to the fact that we understand about 25% of what the other is saying...

Check out EvaAir... They make one stop at Taipei (Which is their hub) which is a nice 1/2 way stop where they usually give you enough time to pop into a VIP lounge to take a shower... There website is great and allows you to book premium economy seats that are very good...

From Santander.....
"Earn more interest by keeping a higher balance in your account.Monthly interest of 1.50% AER/1.49% gross (variable) paid gross on your entire balance up to £20,000."
You need to Google the meaning of AER (Annual Equivalent Rate)

I asked the IO if that would be sufficient for this year to apply for a renewal of my extension of stay.
Did she make any reference or demand that you prove the funds transferred in come from a pension?

Can anyone else confirm if Bangkok Bank charges a 500B receiving fee for Transferwise? I thought I had seen somewhere that it appears as a domestic transfer to BKK Bank...
No receiving fee for Transferwise.com but OFX.com does incur the BK Bank fee .0025%..

As a sideline for anyone transferring 800K into Thailand for visa purposes... Once the transfer is complete go to your Thai bank and ask for a "Credit Advice"... This will be free and will show the details of the transaction and proof the funds came from you/abroad... This would be useful to have if say in a few years you would like to repatriate the funds back to your home country and the bank wants proof of where your 800K originally came from...

If you have the ACH to Bangkok Bank in place it is still working and a viable way to transfer funds (They have said they will accept non IAT formatted transfer until the end of a June)... I am planning to use them in the next 30-45 days to transfer the 800k... Hoping the rate pops above 32 ;-)...

Does Chiang Mai Immigration accept fixed deposit accounts?
Also I read an old thread that Kasikorn bank could not print an update in a passbook (as is required by Immigration) unless there was some previous activity?

I was asking about the photos of house but my house is blue do you think that will help ?
That depends... Immigration requires a dark blue background... And most Thai houses are baby blue...
This may run you afoul of immigration...

He was rejected because the staff at ALL Immigration offices have not been given clear instructions as to what the new law is and are just winging it...

You on your own trying to make them follow the rules will most likely not end well...
I would go into the visa agent that is located across the street from immigration (along with the a copy of the new police order)... And let them politely try to process your extension... If the first agent says no try Assist Thai Visa...

Instead if popping across the border with a bunch of visarun people I would suggest going just a bit south of there with an afternoon (or better overnight) in the golden triangle area... From there they have boat rides on the Mekong River...
If you have a car make a point to go to this chedi for an incredible view...
Phra Borommathat Putta Nimit Chedi
Highway 1129 , Wiang , 57150 Chiang Saen , Chiang Rai, Tambon Wiang, Amphoe Chiang Saen, Chang Wat Chiang Rai 57150
https://goo.gl/maps/UBwj3KrdUMz9RLhZ9If you can stay overnight get a room along the river between the Golden triangle and the little town of Chiang Saen (go there for a riverside evening stroll)... Here is our favorite place (Get a pool/balcony room)... https://www.ginmaekhongview.com/

I would avoid a move during the 2-3 month pre seasoning period just as a precaution... Think of the pain and confusion of dual bank letters...

Xiomi Air purifier 2s
in General Topics
Posted · Edited by sfokevin
I have several Xaiomi’s throughout the house... have had them for three years now... All work great (Once you learn how to program them to stay in manual mode full time)... Now is the time to buy them as they have dropped in price significantly - Most likely a lot of vendors in Bangkok have huge stocks they want to unload... Lazada has them listed for 3,700 baht with free shipping!
Btw If you are letting them run in Auto Mode and your not getting the PM2.5 into a single digits or low teens your not really getting the air quality to an acceptably low level... I have mine all programmed to run on manual mode at about 60% fan speed anb the PM2.5 never goes above 15...
